    Just bought a qashqai...thanks for the informative video.
    Re the speed limiter...pretty stupid that Nissan haven't allowed the option to set the speed limit from the road sign identifier (for example in your video it's showing 30mph)...because how they've deployed, the driver is left faffing about taking his/her eyes off the road, to adjust the speed limiter to suit to the current road speed limit (*but* the car already knows the current speed limit- it's showing on the dashboard!). Massive oversight.

    Dan, a question, about the electric windows. Is there a way to use the electric window switches without having to turn the ignition on? I have the 1.2 Tekna petrol.

      Not easily, it's annoying isn't it? I guess you could look into rewiring the plug so the constant live stays, probably more hassle then it's worth mind 🙄

      @@TheQashqaiGuy Thanks for that. So far, that is the most frustrating part of ownership. I was going to say 1st world problem, but I don't think we are there any more. Into day 2 now of ownership . The videos are very helpful by the way. I've made lots of notes so I can sit in there and go through everything.

    Hi, I've just bought a 17/18 teckna. I've noticed that the centre console control/function lights for the radio/heating switches etc, only come on when I unlock/lock the car and they go off when I start the engine, which makes it impossible to see the controls when driving in the dark. Do you know how I get the lights to stay on?
    Thanks

      Check your brightness settings, there should be a button to the right of the steering wheel or in the settings

    Hi Dan i have just recently bought a QQ J11 just a quick question on my dashbourd it got a average 1 i dont know whatbit means can you advice please

    • @TheQashqaiGuy
      @TheQashqaiGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Darren
      Does it show mph or a mpg bar? It's your average speed or mpg.
      The "1" is the average since you last reset (hold enter button on steering wheel to reset)
      If you single press enter on the steering wheel it'll change to "2". This is the average mph or mpg since you started the car.
      I do have a video explaining the different pages, I'll get the link for you.

    While I love my Qashqai Tekna like yours, there are small things that leave me wanting. We're on our third Qashqai (one Visia and two Teknas) but inbetween we had a Peugeot 308 1.6 diesel. I'd choose the Nissan any day but still there were smal brilliant things that the engineers (or software developers) had
    thought of in the 308, that I loved:
    In the Peugeot:
    1) When you had set the speed limiter for, say, 50 km/h, the car remembered it... so the next time you went driving, you could just hit a single button, and the limiter would be set to that same speed immediately. In the Qashqai you actually need to look at the speedo every new drive until you reach the desired speed and _then_ hit the 'set'-button.
    2)
    When you turned off the ignition, you had 15 seconds of system power where you could still e.g. roll up your side windows etc. In the Qashqai, when you've turned off the ignition, the car is dead. So if you forgot to roll up a window, you need to hit the start-button again, roll up the window, and then hit the start button yet again.
    3)
    A small, but ingenious thing (in the winter time):
    The wind screen wipers... if you forget to turn them off after a rainy day in the Qashqai... the next day, when you start the car... they will start wiping immediately. This can be a serious problem, if it has been a frosty night and the wiper has frozen stuck onto the glass... because you can't hear the motor struggling trying to move the wiper. It could ruin the motor.
    In the Peugeot you needed to conciously turn off the wiping function first, and then back on, for it to start.
    This would prevent the motor from burning out.
    Being a typical French car though... it also had a few funny quirks;
    When you put the car into reverse... the internal cooling fans turned the speed up a notch ;-)
    The 'ticking' sound coming from the loudspeakers when using the indicators (not actual physical relays) would randomly produce extra 'ticks', lol ;-)))...
    so tick........ tick...... tick..... tick-tick...... tick...... tick 🙂

      1: It is true, the nissan doesn't remember it
      2: You have about 30 seconds of accesories power in the newer qashqai at least (2017-2020). You can use the usb ports or use the windows etc in that time
      3: Most of them ( 2010-present) have rain sensors, the ice usually doesn't trigger the sensor

      @@silviu4365
      1) Yep
      2) Our's is the model 2014 (although produced/registered in 2017), so it doesn't have that feature.
      3) The rear wind screen wiper does not have a sensor.... and I believe that is true for the newer models as well.
      I forgot to mention that I meant the _rear_ wiper, which doens't have sensor control. It is either set to on, or interval wiping.
      I'm mentioning this problem because we had to replace the rear wiper motor on one of our previous cars, a Nissan Almera... and that thing is _expensive_ ! We paid 3500 kroners (about 400 pounds) to replace it.
      The wind screen wiper (front) has sensors, of course, and anyway, with a heated wind shield to de-frost, it's not a problem regardles.

    Your Speedo will be reading up to 10% greater than your actual speed. Check your true speed using the SatNav

      @silviu4365 ปีที่แล้ว

      the speedo is always more accurate than an gps module, gps can be stable and unstable, the speedo always shows the wheel spin( usually they read the back wheels)

    4:46 Car can go 200km/h or 124mph but that huge fuel waste and it not that good for engine to much stress for engine
