- Borla S-Type Cat Back exhaust on a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 6.0 liter. Exhaust is complimented with a K & N cold air intake. Video clips are shot in before and after sequence, showcasing stock vs aftermarket exhaust during cold start, revs, takeoff, and fly-by's

Thanks for posting this, I'm going to try it out on my 2018. In that last clip of the truck approaching the camera I think a good portion of that sound is coming from the intake. I just installed an AFE intake on mine and it's crazy how loud it is compared to the stock intake.
That’s very true, something about the resonance in the engine bay of these trucks makes adding an aftermarket intake significantly louder

So I ended up finding a used borla s-type muffler for $50 3 inch in and 2.5 out duals from a RAM 1500 and I plan on doing dual exhaust instead of “true duals” I can’t wait to hear what it sounds like. 👍😎🤛
So I ended up cutting that 3rd cat out and it sounds badass! With my custom dual borla s type exhaust. 👍😎🤛

Oh definitely my 2015 3500 6.0 is an absolute slug and I'm only getting 10mpg average driving conservatively on 20" wheels 295/65's regular maintenance and about 72 psi tire pressure. I'd love to increase mpg without emptying my wallet on mods or returning to stock wheels
Lol, that's true, my work truck has the 6.0, and I'm getting 11.1 mpg luckily I don't have to pay for the gas, and my company does. Still a great Truck and engine though
@@livewire2474 my 6.0 is on 12 wides with 33s and I’m getting closer to 20 mpg basically completely stock besides wheels

So it’s all done and it’s unfortunately too quiet in my opinion needs a 3rd cat delete lol. Maybe I’m used to my magnaflow drone? Lol 😂 I don’t know but I see that 3rd cat being removed asap 😂. 👍😎🤛 Yours seems louder for some reason. 🤷♂️

How is the sound while towing? I'm thinking about this setup but I tow a RV almost once a month.
Pretty throaty under load, you will be heard loud and clear lol
Did you happen to notice if your mpg increased? Better fuel mileage now?
There were some other mods that went on the truck around the same time; bigger wheels and tires, tune, i take, so there were multiple factors that may have affected mpg. If there was an increase in mpg, it was only minimal

Do they give you better gas mileage?
Hard to say, a number of other mods were done at and around the same time of the install. Negligible change if any.
What size inlet and outlet? My 2500 is 3.5 inch but can ony find borlas that are 3 inch in/out
3.5 inch pipe and 5 inch tip

I’m thinking about getting this exhaust for my 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500hd 6.0 too. How do you like it so far? And is there any drone while cruising? It shouldn’t drone because it’s designed not to. 👍
This is actually my brother’s vehicle. We both have Borla S-Type cat backs, mine being on a challenger, and there is almost no drone. He loves his exhaust and said it’s pretty quiet from the inside, but from the outside it’s got a really unique tone, one that you can definitely distinguish. Not too loud but still quite aggressive

Does it add hp and gas mileage ?
Haven’t put the truck on a dyno so not sure if it makes gains currently. I’m positive with a proper tune it would though, definitely flows better over stock. Unsure about mpg, negligible change if any.
So I changed my mind if I was to do true-dual borla s-types how much louder would it be? I know it would give a better sound because now I want duals.
I don’t believe Borla offers a true dual catback system for the 2500. A custom fabricated true dual system would allow for better flow, however if you are looking to determine if it will be louder, I cannot comment on that. Even still, my brothers exhaust is the same version that I have in my challenger, and his is still noticeably louder on cold start and low rev.
@@thenolanheady yeah I would do custom true duals I know they make it for the 1500s with one muffler but I would do two. 👍😎🤛
