Wildmen are always worth rolling even in late game. In fact my best brother is a wildman in one of my LW campaigns, hes orc cleaver duelist and just about never runs out of fatigue unless fights are post 15 turns which is to be expected.
Swordmaster > one of the strongest backgrounds as long as you find the holy water , witchhunter > Decent ranged skill and strong against flanks and melee also has high resolve , companions with great stats at everything, assasin for squishy enemies also decent damage against armor as long as you take duelist , damage will increase with unique daggers. Gladiators also alternative for hedge knight and adv. noble mix.
Swordmaster is the best background in the game and old doesnt even bother me enough to use the waterskin on him. +10 resolve, -10 fatigue, everything else is entirely irrelevant to a melee fighter, its no downside at all to just let him stay old and save the waterskin for a brother who becomes crippled with terrible injuries. My swordmaster is my mace/dagger duelist, and hes's almost overtaken my flail brute in kills despite joining when the guy already had like 150.
I'm on my first campaign and I'm struggling to evolve my army from a ' just getting by' mid game army to a baller let's go do some bosses late game army. Do I just need to endlessly roll new hires and hope for great rolls?
Yeah basically lol. Know what you need and what backgrounds are good for that and keep on rolling until you've got a whole team. Sadly the best are very expensive so it can take a while :/
@@CarveaHole tell me about it...got in a run almost 400 days and barely saw 3 hedge knights...hired only one because of finances...not like the map is bad, got 2 cidatels and 1 fortress...ironically, the one hired was from a city, not castle.
Install a recruitment mod which let's you see the stars. The game developer was bad at this point. The game is so much more fun and possible to deal with as I can cherry pick my army. There is nothing hardcore in rolling out the recruits. But it's just my opinion. Do what ever you want
I only just bought Blazing Deserts so I can't comment much on that - I think the nomad background is essentially the same as the raider, so pretty good end game; manhunter I think is good for a melee/ranged hybrid from looking at the wiki; assassin looked good too. Militia cannot have highborns, so looking at good lowborn backgrounds is more important obviously. Poachers become the new hunters (hunter is highborn unless I'm mistaken), brawlers/farmhands/wildmen become more important, cultists and monks are strong. You essentially just remove the highborns from the good list and keep the rest. TL;DR - Origins don't change which are good.
I see you have over 50 in melee defense. I thought diminishing returns apply if you go over 50 in melee defense or ranged defense. Meaning that every point you put in there over 50 will be less effective. I think filthyrobot has some stat charts on that.
Micromanage in what way, like learning all the details like these? You'll end up learning it after you play. I hated this game for the first 30 hours cause I was so clueless, so the fact that you're here is already a good start :D
Hey there! What do you think are some milestones to hit on party composition and gear (or whatever else) before you can raid caravans? Same question for mercs and nobles.
Hey! If you wanna skim my co-op run with Sins (most recent videos as of me commenting), then you can see us raiding caravans early and what gear we have. We'll raid mercs and nobles soon I bet. As broad as this is, you shouldn't take those fights if you can't win without screwing yourself hard. Knowing when that is requires experience, skill, and understanding your current situation.
I have made an analysis of the game's perks, split into two videos. Here is part 1: th-cam.com/video/5yIyhN6ICug/w-d-xo.html While I don't have a standardized build video yet, I do have one for early game characters here: th-cam.com/video/oE17uHPtye8/w-d-xo.html You can pause the perk video on my heroes and see what I've chosen, if that helps :)
Some of your characters are level 20. Is that from a mod? Also one thing I have been confused with the games star system is, whatever stars you have on a certain attribute, do they stay on that or change every level. Like if your to hit rolls have 3 stars, in the next level will they be there or will they be on some other attribute like constitution or stamina.
No mods here, characters will continue to level up to I believe 42. However, after a character reaches level 11, they will only be get +1 to three stats every level instead of the usual rolling. And no, stars always stick for each level up, which is why having 3 stars in melee attack is so strong, because you'll always be gaining 3-4! I like to look at this website www.bbplanner.xyz because you can see what a character's projected stats will be on average.
i think player with good background would have to bust camp often. its best to have several lonewolf tanker for ur team and swap them out when they get hurt. and bust camp in the wild as much as possible before returning to town. early game when u search for recruits, get any of those cheap 3 star mdef dude with over 55hp 100fat and if possible 1-2 star in them use them as lonewolf tank, they are only 1/2 1/3 price of those high cost recruit. just so u can keep 3 of them and not break ur bank oh find a good map seed with as many temples as possible close to wild would make it faster to recover from wounds.
Lmao amazing work I love when you say and show this person is sht lmao this is a sht person. Going to look for a video for early start best start starting over because of dlc it is a lot to learn from this game. Idk why I slept on it months ago - Time was focus on stoneshard
@@CarveaHole O I actually love it, Just disappointed on the updates they have so much potential on the Magic part and Gold city. The different types literally right there and beastity whatever that is but have to wait. Got to wait till mod dev's update I guess to.
I don't like swordmasters because they have pitifully low HP and stamina - truly awful in both. This forces them into nimble/initiative builds and little else. They can also get the "Old" trait which is bad (but can be cured with a potion). Swordmasters do have amazing Matk and Mdef, but you can get sufficient stats on other backgrounds without the HP/stam downsides. And what's a bow master? Master Archers are enemies and not an available background.
@@CarveaHole the age isn't too big a deal, or perhaps I'm just not building them to their optimal stats? they lose a little hp, fatigue, and initiative for a bonus of resolve.
I think that's a pretty big penalty. They are already low on hp and fatigue, and their selling point is high initiative for stuff like dodge and fencing swords. Being old nerfs all three of those vital stats.
You'd prefer no visual companion to the talking? I thought people would like something to focus on that's not just my game. And what do you have in mind when you say "better"? Lemme hear your constructive criticism :)
