    She killed it! Not only was her song really smart and really funny, but her stage presence and comedic timing were pitch perfect. She really is a force of nature.

    I remember when she performed that monologue and being impressed with it at the time. I'm not a Taylor superfan, but I respect her writing talent and I think that monologue was when I first took notice. I should probably check out more of her music.

      yep, she's a mastermind. (don't start with Midnights, it's not a top tier album, but Mastermind is a song on that album). start with all the track 5s of each album, those are all the special songs.

      Basically true but his interviews have been legendary for decades. But I agree that it's often better when he takes a more laidback approach with the guests and gives them plenty of room.

    I think The Monologue Song is great, and I've watched that clip more than anything else she's done. Her Shakira impression and her PSA are close seconds, though.

      Because it was in 2009? She definitely didn't have everyone's respect yet.
      "Not in their world" works the other way too, it takes confidence at 19yo to essentially say "this is what you should put on your show" when you're not known as a comedy writer
