      @@madgingercustomsdo you think there is a chance it was just balance and the beads did nothing? I good test would be add a weight and see if it stays balanced.
      I’m almost as skeptical as you were before you did this, but I guess I have to try it. My local Belle Tire can’t balance a tire to save their life, so this might be a really good find!

    Semi related- had a broken belt in LF tire on my wifes Fusion. Picked up a used tire, mounted it at home on my HF tire changer. Left the weights where they were with the old tire. Car drove smooth, no vibration at all.
    Sometimes you get lucky.

    I've never had a decent balance from walmart, pulled all their weights off and installed balance beads. Now my car drives smooth as glass.

    I had ordered wheels and tires in a package. They had balance beads in them. Ended up taking them out and going with wheel weights. In my experience the beads didn't work and road like crap.

      No, that's not correct. Balance beads that are packaged as throw in, are in different specific sizes for larger truck sized wheels all the way to semi tire sized wheels, but they are measured in ounces... The tires he is using are so small they do not make sized bags that small. He needs about 4oz, which is about what he installed

    i have a negitive review of tire beads i used them on my wifes car with brand new tires and as far as balance they worked perfect but one day like six months later i noticed something odd about the tires ,the sidewall looked odd so i took it apart and the tire was wearing out from the inside out and inside was smooth and lots of rubber dust and before anyone says so i used the proper amount of beads

    The only problem I've had running beads in 5 years is the smaller beads with get trapped in the valve core when checking tire pressure and will not seal. The valve core has to be removed and the beads cleared to get the core to seal. Not fun if your away from home and no way to air the tire back up.

  • @jonnyboat2
    @jonnyboat2 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Do you think that the liquid you sprayed to seal the tire bead got into the tire inside where the beads are? Do you think the liquid would cause the beads to stick together and throw off the balance? Just a thought.

    • @madgingercustoms

      Possible but I doubt it. It was just soapy water. There wasn't enough used to affect it I don't think.

      @@madgingercustomsmoisture and beads don't mix well. Moisture causes the beads to clump up. Kinda like cat stuff clumps up kitty litter. Best to assemble dry.

  • @leonhart2452
    @leonhart2452 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The amount of beads depends on the size of the tires.
    You should put tires on dry. Moisture and beads don't go together. Moisture tends to clump up the beads. Like cat stuff clumps up kitty litter.
    Tires that have a aspect ratio below 70 don't work as well. These low wide tirm tend to have a side to side wobble that beads won't completely remove. The lower the aspect ratio the more this occurs.
    The seller of the beads should supply a chart or list to tell you how much beads to use in your tire. Most passenger car tires 4 oz should be fine. My motorcycles use 2 in front 3 in the rear. Bikes with the really wide tires need more.

    The longer those beads are in the tire the smaller they get and then when you try to air up your tires the beads plug up the valve stem and you wind up with a flat tire.

    • @leonhart2452
      @leonhart2452 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bdd1469 I've never used counteract beads so maybe yours do breakdown. Most of what I used are from dyna beads. Been ten or so years since I bought any, so that name may not be correct. These are very tiny and will fit through valve stems. I use them because they work well with tubed motorcycle tires. Only once in all the years I used them only once do the valve stem leak. Just added some air to blow the beads out of the valve stem core and they were fine.
      I have looked at a lot of beads on the interwebs and found some very cheap beads and they didn't have good feedback from customers. Maybe the ones you use are those.

  • @monoshock57
    @monoshock57 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    One other problem is if you plug a tire with the sticky brown rope type plug the beads will stick to the plug and the tire will be out of balance.

  • @bdd1469

    Balance beads are meant for big slow moving trucks. They do not work well in small tires on quick accelerating vehicles. The beads do not work well on normal passenger cars. They don't even work well in the 35" tires on my Jeep if I accelerate too quickly. And before anyone says I didnt use the correct ammount we use them in large truck tires all the time and I started with the ammount counteract recommended and then tried more, and less beads.
