I saved a praying mantis from 7Eleven foot traffic the other day. Nobody would pick her up, so I cupped her and put her on a leaf. The end.

That sounds cool. Unfortunately, I'd be too scared to touch one. Even though the only type of bugs/insects I'm truly scared of are spiders and centipedes(or others that have an excessive amount of limbs that extend longer than their body, UGHHHH), I'm still not brave enough to pick up any others.

To me, the Orchid is the ultimate insect pet. When i finally get one, i shall treat it like royalty, it'll have the BIGGEST tank to grow into for its 12 months or so with me.
They'll have the finest decor, stylishly done. It shall be fed all the crickets, mealworms and yellow locusts, one at a time every second day. Fun to watch.
Mantids love being on your hands, arms, shoulders. They're aiming for the ceiling, got to say.
Treat any mantis with respect and loving care, with a heat mat in cooler months depending on the species and your climate.
The Orchid is the one i'll finally have.

Tingles AJ there diet is mainly flying insects bees, wasps, flies etc the odd cricket wouldnt hurt but not as a main food source.
some people wont even feed crickets to them.

They are friendly/docile towards humans- very spiritual beings are the Mantids. I had a beautiful green Chinese Mantis, reminded me of a tiny cat when he held up his back leg with his arm to clean his feet- yes it was very cute.

The orchid mantis is such a good mimic of flowers that pollinators actually prefer them over the plant. It usually ends In tragedy for the pollinator.
This wondrous world that has such creatures in it! I have seen and fed many mantis but never imagined that they had adapted mimicry .Absolutely remarkable!

I love Orchid Mantis. This Mantis is very very preety and awesome!
I give all my mantids plenty of humidity and both of these were raised under identical conditions but you can see one is clearly more pink than the other. She has been consistently more colorful than the other females. It seems random.

I was like "Stop shaking Mantis calm down" but then I saw the branch shaking
Haha! The branch looked like it was moving because I used image stabilization to keep the mantis still which makes it look like the background is moving instead. These little buggers like to wobble around!
