Thank you so much for this content! My dog has had a bout of vomiting/blood spot diarrhea this week and I got nervous about what could be going on. This helped highlight the Christmas week stressors/anxiety he may be experiencing. I also forwarded this to my friend who is on the merry-go-round of metranidozole with her dog! Hoping she can use these tips and see what progress she makes for her poor dog!
My dog has acid reflux symptoms. He burps, licks his lips, regurgitates or vomits bile and/or food. It isn’t everyday so I’d say it’s fairly sporadic but I’m trying to figure out what to do first. I did an Intolerance test from Ucari and one of the stand outs was cod liver oil. It’s in most of his foods as a natural alternative to synthetic vitamins but would that be the cause? Should I try an elimination diet and eliminate cod liver oil?
I have been dealing with this with my dog since he was a puppy, now is 3 years old. And vet can’t figure out. He won’t eat in the morning at all and goes without eating all day and then vomits yellow this happens really often. And is so stressful because I worried. Sometimes after he gets diarrea diarrhea.
I see SO many comments on a kidney FB page I’m on with people desperate because their dog won’t eat and they are pouring Omeprazole and Pepcid into them and I was in the same situation years ago with 2 of my dogs that passed from kidney failure, I wish there was an answer to this as it’s heartbreaking to see your pet stop eating, is vomiting and is totally lethargic. 😭
Wow, my Frenchie's with bloody mucus stools I asked on your community about activated charcoal to help with this and lose stools and I was told by someone on your team Judy don't use it, it doesn't help and causes other problems. So, Dr Judy, do you agree with her about activated charcoal that it helps with this problem? I thought it would, but I wanted to verify through the community or maybe a better suggestion. Luckily this problem passed with my Frenchie's using pro-pre-biotics and marshmallow root.
Whenever my dogs get diarrhea and vomiting, I use Barley powder. Sante Barley specifically. Very little food(if possible only soft foods)for a day until the stool becomes healthy normal again
I gave my dog a scrambled egg two days in a row, and he had diarrhea and vomiting once. I'm looking for a holistic fix for those times when something doesn't agree with him. Of course, never again eggs.
I adopted a dog from the shelter and he was suffering with diarrhea, they told me that it would take about 2 months to go away. Here is almost 2 months and still the dog has diarrhea. I have tried changing his diet and fasting him with a dland diet and it doesn't work. I looked at his medical records and the dog has had diarrhea for April 2024, I adopted him in August 2024. He has been given Metronidazole 250mg from April to August. 25 days of that RX in 5 months. I don't know what to do anymore to help him. I'm so frustrated that I am thinking of taking him back to the shelter I got him from. 😢
A lot of my older dogs GI issues were due to LOW stomach acid. It has the same symptoms as high stomach acid, which is acid reflux. The majority of people and animals don't have high stomach acid. That is very uncommon. Most humans and animals have low stomach which can be helped with Betaine HCL. I started giving that to my dog and his symptoms improved. Vet schools and medical schools don't teach much about low stomach acid. If they did, the practitioners would not recommend acid blockers and big pharma would loose out on the massive income they get from all the the people and animals that are taking it. Think about it.
Hi my dog was recently diagnosed with gastritis, she eating a little in the evening. She vomits after drinking water. Her albumin is 1.8 which they said is low. They gave me Prilosec and an anti nausea medication. She seems a little better since her emergency visit. But I don’t feel she’s getting better. What should I do?
@@DiyaNaidu-ff6bo she recovered, she lost 2 lbs but she only weighed 10, so 20 %of her weight. She’s now on Steves frozen food. That was the turning point for her, she was able to keep it down and she loves it. I only feed her that food and she’s been doing awesome on it. A plus is less shedding and her hair is shorter! Weird!
my German shepherd is 4 he's had some on and off Bouts of diarrhea Sometimes even bloody and unfortunately he did have a dose of flagyl when he was younger.he always eats at night and never wants a day meal. Only as a puppy he ate 2 to 3 small meals . He has been raw fed since he was 13 months . I was researching and I was afraid I would do it wrong with him being a puppy
