An absolutely fascinating video! My father and I met Martin Duffy here in 1970, when Ruth was still sending him down into the mine every day, and going down this mine has been on my bucket list for years. One of these days, I'm going to drop by, and at the very least get down to the first level, and who knows, maybe all the way to the fifth! Shortage of metal? Afraid of metal lol? That wood is scary looking to me
The history around this mine is just amazing. My brain was hurting with all the amazing information Jon was sharing. If you can find your way to Goldfield, be sure to take the tour! Real history just as it was during the heyday.
we are mining silver now my friend. at 80 to 1 gold to silver Our treasures saying that Silver should be at 8 to 1` or even 4 to 1 means there is more gold than silver and that COMEX will be taken down. so the best market in the near future is silver.
There is an abandoned gold mine in Apple Valley, Ca. I'm wondering if Jeff would be interested in exploring it. It's located on Sidewinder Mountain. There are two mines, one of them is on the north facing side and I believe it belongs to the cement mining company that it's next to. I couldn't find any information on the one I'm interested in. It's located on the southern side of the mountain. It doesn't go in all that far, but there are ladders that go up several levels.

That’s looks fun and I’d love the opportunity to visit something like that now I have more to dream for and about. I’d work In and on a mine thank you for the video Jeff.
now if it where me.... i would sink another shaft down....next to the original one. but i would carve through the rock with a circular large width drill and rig that could set large metal ring supports into the shaft. maybe rings about an inch thick of steel and 4-6 foot in height so you could theoretically put in doors that could lead off into drifts and such. but, then you would have perhaps a massively strong and secure shaft to use to renovate the old one with, and it would be much easier to run lines down for draining or pumping of water air and maybe even material, as it could be crushed as you went and brought up wet or dry, depending on supply... but, i'm just imagining it, and i dont know if it would be practical or not, or timely efficient.... but a round shaft would be a lot stronger than a blasted one i would assume. especially if it had a nice metal ring to hold back the rock within.
That all interesting historicial area . More gold came outta Nevada than cali and silver . You mentioned. GOLDFIELD Jeff look up Old Red in The town of GoldField and Video a tour of the GoldField Hotel .maybe video spending the night ..

1 thing i never understand is if the mine was a big gold producer (and probably still is) and someone owns it but the mining was abandoned why is the mine not being fixed and re mined especially at the price for gold i know i for sure would be making every attempt to repair this mine if i owned it and yes i know there are safety matters and cost effectiveness etc but surely the price of gold that would come from this mine out weighs that
You should meet him! Such a nice guy and a walking encyclopedia of local mining history. I want to do a series of videos where he just sits and shares his knowledge. "I don't understand how Jeff doesn't have his own show" He deserves one for sure, AND HAS ONE, and it's on YT, with all the memories and good stuff that TV would cut out. Plus, they don't deserve him. He's too good and positive of a feller for that pu$$yfootin TV drama stuff that get's embroiled with both subliminal and in your face political agendas eventually. They'd have to gives him full control over production choices. TV n'aint ever gonbe ready for a time travelin miner, that or the underground legend. In the legend they say that he's all the lost souls of the passionate miners reborn again, from 1500-1800's in the new world. Emblazoned with their knowledge by his father's greatness that which lured them and their passions back up to the light - reigniting an unquenchable dwarf-like thirst for gold - for thousands and thousands of people on youtube to experience. Plus, All the cabrón's on TV are poseur or personalities furnished with generic traits to appease the intended crowds or activate certain trends. I prefer a dedicated YT channel with dedicated real people any day. Besides, TV is for hotel rooms and those places where they keep old people who didn't have good kids :( YT is where it's at rn and for the future to find.
"Looks like a little bit of weight on these timbers" maybeeeeeee..... so where's your sample from the pillar in that stope, I saw a nice spot to dig..... I want to see the Au.

You got Big Balls Jeff! How do you know when it’s TOO Dangerous to walk into mine?? All those Crushed Timbers aren’t supporting anything! Thanks 🙏 for showing us a deep gold mine before she caves in and disappears forever.
That’s looks fun and I’d love the opportunity to visit something like that now I have more to dream for and about. I’d work In and on a mine thank you for the video Jeff.
beautiful man god bless him and his endeavour
Worked Goldfield for 2 years🍻
Awsome but a hell of a long way down looks vary interesting
0:20 oh boy you got me curious what's in the shaft behind you in the distance!
Another EPIC Adventure Jeff, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
now if it where me.... i would sink another shaft down....next to the original one. but i would carve through the rock with a circular large width drill and rig that could set large metal ring supports into the shaft. maybe rings about an inch thick of steel and 4-6 foot in height so you could theoretically put in doors that could lead off into drifts and such. but, then you would have perhaps a massively strong and secure shaft to use to renovate the old one with, and it would be much easier to run lines down for draining or pumping of water air and maybe even material, as it could be crushed as you went and brought up wet or dry, depending on supply... but, i'm just imagining it, and i dont know if it would be practical or not, or timely efficient.... but a round shaft would be a lot stronger than a blasted one i would assume. especially if it had a nice metal ring to hold back the rock within.
That all interesting historicial area . More gold came outta Nevada than cali and silver . You mentioned. GOLDFIELD Jeff look up Old Red in The town of GoldField and Video a tour of the GoldField Hotel .maybe video spending the night ..
will do
@@Askjeffwilliams
Jeff do you know anything about the GoldField Hotel any history .. the Gold Field Hotel Is one of the most Haunted places in America .. If you do that set it up so we can both Go .because paranormal is rt up my Alley ..
Man Jeff I can't wait to see when your mine gets that big.
soon
We really need to go looking in golfield, great video
Jeff that guy your talkin to is a Diamond in the rough ... very nice guy .
So what’s the plan Jeff? Will you be rebuilding/repairing the shafts before mining begins, or what? Can it even be repaired at this point?
yes it just needs a few timbers
Ask Jeff Williams only a few? lol
Cool video Jeff I like the old miner art
It's like a storybook from the past
exactly
When you found the soft spot, was the lights on or off? 🤠
whaaaaaaah whaaaaaaaaah
My mom, grandma and grandmother are buried in Goldfield I was born in Tonopah
1 thing i never understand is if the mine was a big gold producer (and probably still is) and someone owns it but the mining was abandoned why is the mine not being fixed and re mined especially at the price for gold i know i for sure would be making every attempt to repair this mine if i owned it and yes i know there are safety matters and cost effectiveness etc but surely the price of gold that would come from this mine out weighs that
Probably because the current MSHA and OSHA regulations would make it impossible.
I will get out there to meet Mr. Jon AuRich sooner or later, what an awesome spot! Thanks for the video jeff !
You bet!
You should meet him! Such a nice guy and a walking encyclopedia of local mining history. I want to do a series of videos where he just sits and shares his knowledge. History is only what we can remember, or figure out from archeology. Once history is lost, it's lost forever. I would like to capture an electronic version of what he knows.
Awesome video Jeff can't wait more
Jeff,
Wow that has got to be one of the most dangerous mines I have ever seen someone explore, I would recommend that people avoid going in this mine. I'm not sure if even the Abandoned and Forgotten Places mine dude would even go in this mine. Sorry to seem so negative, I am just worried about inexperienced people trying to go there.
Great video
I want to go gold hunting with you some day jeff lol.!
"I don't understand how Jeff doesn't have his own show"
He deserves one for sure, AND HAS ONE, and it's on YT, with all the memories and good stuff that TV would cut out.
Besides, TV is for hotel rooms and those places where they keep old people who didn't have good kids :(
YT is where it's at rn and for the future to find.
Mr.Williams ,
Mr.W. You ok little worried been concerned,,! Lol. We miss ya!,,,, Thank You 🙏 Blessings. BDOut .
First time watching, You Buck Wild Man I love it. Be safe y'all.
Thanks and welcome aboard
"Looks like a little bit of weight on these timbers" maybeeeeeee..... so where's your sample from the pillar in that stope, I saw a nice spot to dig..... I want to see the Au.
I watched most all your videos. and this is the first one, everybody knew what you were going to say next 😂 love all of you and the content
Cool adventure that would fun and the history of the place thank you
Remind me not to follow Jeff into any mines unless they have Steel I-Beams that are still intact. Those wood supports just being crushed like that, dang, that's a lot of pressure. And trust me I know all about pressure, I've been married 50 years. :-)
Swampstomper Al's TH-cam handle just sayin' howdy at ya, Doc :)
@@PowRKord back at ya' Al.
Thanks Jeff 👍
