Good job Onyx. Focus on logging the laps and gaining seat time. Did really good holding your line and showing respect to the guys coming up on you. You've got a great teacher to follow!
Sure miss watching you wheel the 73 late model, Zach, but you can sure wheel the 6X too! I've seen you have a couple of these nights in the past, only to come back the next week and park it in victory lane. You have a great crew and know this is "just racing". You guys always put on a good showing. Onyx is a chip off the ol block in the 73 B mod and will be leading the field soon! Thanks for taking us along to the track and best of luck the balance of the summer and fall
Hate it for Zach. Nothing you could really do in that situation. I think Onyx did a great job for his age and experience. All he needs is more seat time and experience. Proud of both of you guys!!
Great video. Congrats to Onyx. My first time to that track was in 70's while at the Tech College, had a demolition derby going on. A couple weeks before, had my car hit in a collision. I jumped like he!! as the first cars smacked into each other and that metal crunching noise caught me off guard. Lots of years since being back at that track. Cool to see this video.
Its very awesome to see a newer generation pick up dirt racing. If he has the skill and not be afraid of the cars racing past him. then you have a good driver. i remember my first time back in 2001. i was terrified then after my second race i felt safe and happy
Being a lineman and a part time farmer this is pretty neat to see you flying the FLO banner. They do great stuff for lineman families when linemen get hurt or even worse. Now you just need the shirt👍🏻
Oh wow. Seeing a Thoennes wheeling a 52 sure brings back some memories from the 70's of the Folken/Nieland/Gilbertson/Fred Thoennes era at the wheel of the 52. Great vid. Best of luck the rest of the season to both of you.
5:02 Onyx I don’t know for sure but 🤔 in Sprints you don’t want to have your thumbs hooked up in the spokes of the steering wheel. Guy’s have broken thumbs from doing it in Washington State races. Just something to think about. You will be strong after awhile with experience. You’re doing well Bud! Much love ❤️🖖🏼🇺🇸
Dang!! Been a few changes since the last time I went to a stock car race!! Back in the mid to late 50's some of the cars were "run whut ya brung" racers. And bumpin and stuff was kinda common. Never went fast enough to need streamlining or wings on the car. Checkered flags sure were hard fought though!! And competition was tough. And I have wonderful memories of those dirt tracks and the sights, sounds, and smells of racin!! Zack, some days it just don't go your way. That last traffic jam looked like here when there is some construction and the pavement ends. Onyx!! Good ride!! I nearly broke my neck here twistin and gyrating around trying to keep in sync with your car. You will certainly get better man, real fast. You are one sharp guy. Thanks Johnsons!! I really enjoyed this ride. You are both winners and I am glad you let me come along.
I wish there was more of them "run what you brung" races available. Everything is so expensive. Jeepers, just to build Zach and the son's engines is big bucks.
Great video Zach, I'm a veteran racer that has been watching your channel for a long time. Love it that you have onyx in big car now. I have both of my son's racing this year. Great family fun. Great to see your dad there also.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. My compliments to onyx and Zach both for their racing tonight. Good job guys. Onyx is getting on to it and will soon be hot into racing his car. Zach had a lot of big contenders to race with. Hard to make headway. Thanks for everything. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
You enjoy racing more than farming,, I said this before but you are a very good person and father with your son,, I enjoy your racing videos, it shows who you really are ,, good people and family,, god bless🙏👍👍👍👍👍, your a good driver, wasn’t your night
Onyx did a great job. By staying out of trouble and getting much needed experience.Next time maybe he will pass a car or two. Zach, I've seen a lot of banzi moves, but the fella who hit you was just wrong. He'll get his the next time. Just drive your race and let everybody else take each other out. Stay safe.
Onex is doing a fantastic job. You Zach really need to stop throwing stones. Racing is very humble and the quicker you understand its not always someone elses fault the better you will be. even if its somebody else it is still your fault. Cheeres on bro thanks for the post.
We need more racing videos! I love seeing the racing videos. I raced in the past and I’m sure it’s hard to video and do all the other things there is to do on race day.
Been waiting for this one!! That is some rough driving....... 2 cars don't fit in the same spot, been on the wrong end of that one a few times! Thanks for the video!
Not too many times the 26 has passed the 52 on that track. I was impressed with how Ryan could keep his left rear in the tacky parts of the track, Bob and Bill would be proud. Onyx will get there, I remember when you moved up from carts. You must have been 14-15 and didn't take you long to be running in the front.
I'm just happy to see neck bracing mandatory hans. We had round neck collars that were a joke. My neck kills me bad from all the years dirt track racing and demo derbies! Sure wasn't worth this pain I indure now days.
Kids have no fear, they don't understand death, fact. They get good with time and decent equipment, we ran the same engine in our imca modified for 3 seasons, good parts, and a winner.
Pinkerton won his first race and Rush Series Crate Late Race at 13 with some decent hitters in the field. Onyx already has experience and talent in karts so it’s no problem. It’s more difficult when they throw these young kids out there with that foundation.
I used to summer at Lake Carlos when I was a kid! Is the Viking still guarding the streets in Alexandria? It's probably 45 years since I've been there.
I think it is wonderful that you introduced your kids to racing. Hockey payed for college for me ( i loved it and could play) but I learned more real life skills racing dirt bikes (just wasn't that good -haha) . There are obviously mental skills that are learned in both - dedication, determination, work ethic, etc. But racing is just different in the skills you learn. You know. edit: don't have spurgeon (the MN wild captain) change your tires- haha.
Hi Zack You need more HP They seem to have you on the straits, ability into the corner under brakes and through is on par with them but it isn’t happening on the straits. But you are a threat as they take it in turns coming down on you. Onyx is trying to beat you not the rest of them so he is going to go like the wind. Keep it between the rows Regards from Tasmania
Seat time is everything. Onyx will gain confidence and passing in no time.
Good job Onyx. Focus on logging the laps and gaining seat time. Did really good holding your line and showing respect to the guys coming up on you. You've got a great teacher to follow!
13 year old Onyx finished both his races, thinking he might race better than Dad 😂, keep up Zack😎
LOVE the radio/internet commentary overlaid on your video!!! Beautiful touch!
Onyx you go kid, good job, looking forward to seeing more from you. 🏁
The fist bump did it for me, happy kid, good dad. Awesome!
Watching CatDog wreck while steping on the wheel of the Cart --- LOL then walk it off like it didn't happen -- you just gotta love CatDog
Onyx did a nice smooth race. He will get better!
Sure miss watching you wheel the 73 late model, Zach, but you can sure wheel the 6X too! Great job Onyx! And hello to the cute kitty. Y'all take care.
Wow the Big O is Growing Up.....Amazing how in a years time All of a sudden GROWTH!!!!! Go Onyx......Get SOME!!!!
Your graphics are dope, im a lineman myself and that there means a lot
Hate it for Zach. Nothing you could really do in that situation. I think Onyx did a great job for his age and experience. All he needs is more seat time and experience. Proud of both of you guys!!
It's all part of it! I've had much worse results!
Onyx will do just fine. Just takes practice. My first time in a 360 race went up and over the wall.
@@bradley7723damn
He is growing up before our eyes. Let's go Onxy!
Great video. Congrats to Onyx.

Just stumbled apon this channel! Ive been a huge fan of the farming, cool to see this side of your life!
Some say superchargers and turbos sound the best..... nothing beats the whine from a transmission with straight cut gears 😍
Onyx is smoother than some pro's. Young man has talent, now all he has to do is keep getting track time and button up his skill.
Woah i am 15 years old racing a usra modified and all i can say is seat time is everything! you got this!
Being a lineman and a part time farmer this is pretty neat to see you flying the FLO banner. They do great stuff for lineman families when linemen get hurt or even worse. Now you just need the shirt👍🏻
Onyx, My man. You did awesome keep up the great work.
That is an awesome looking lineman car 🤙🏻. Very cool. Brothers keeper.
Good Job Young Man. 🤟😎 You have got to finish to win and a finish is a good start.
That kids got movie star looks and nerves of iron...wow...super star in the making!!
Great content Mr. Farmer. Love seeing a dirt track race. Also love seeing a Family doing it together. Onyx is a great Kid with a great Dad. 🙂👌
Did that guy fall off the edge of the planet there?!?
The overlay of the race commentary is pretty cool!
nice job onyx kept'r clean! the finish results will come, just takes time! youll get there! Keep it up!
Onyx did an amazing job, and Zach tried as hard as he could but couldn’t get er’. both of you still did an amazing job!
I am not a cat person but I love Cat dog!!!!! What a personality!!!!!
Oh wow. Seeing a Thoennes wheeling a 52 sure brings back some memories from the 70's of the Folken/Nieland/Gilbertson/Fred Thoennes era at the wheel of the 52. Great vid. Best of luck the rest of the season to both of you.
Your doing it right dad! Onyx is living the dream doing everything dad showed how to do! Awesome to watch! Keep em coming.
No, daddy is living the dream through his spawn.
We need more of this content.!!
Hell Ya!! He will be an upcoming driver
Great job, Onyx!!! Get em next time, Zach!!
Great job Onyx 👍👊
This is the best channel even make
Aww he's so cute! Great job buddy.
Nobody has any comment on Cat-Dog like reflexes at 1:35 .... almost face planted when the wheel spun and took it all in stride.🤣
5:02 Onyx I don’t know for sure but 🤔 in Sprints you don’t want to have your thumbs hooked up in the spokes of the steering wheel. Guy’s have broken thumbs from doing it in Washington State races. I love the fallen linemen decal and memorial idea! I work at a local electrical co-op in Ohio!

Cool video and thanks for sharing.
Split screen showing the broadcast is a nice touch to these videos
Man I wish I could do this with my kids. Great dad!
never the less that was a Awesome Video both of you Love the camera position on the cars Great Stuff
Your boy can git it done! Totally confident kid!
Thats still gotta be a proud father moment for ya Zach :)
Great video Zach, I'm a veteran racer that has been watching your channel for a long time. Love it that you have onyx in big car now. I have both of my son's racing this year. Great family fun. Great to see your dad there also.
New sub here... I came for the farm technology and stay for the RACING!!!
great job guys...seems like waaaay too many cars racing at once for that size track.
Don't want to be known as Bump & Run Johnson. 😁Onyx did a good job, anytime you can load the car up in one piece, you had a good night.
I have been a long time waiting to see you two racing .I love it and I hope to see more
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
My compliments to onyx and Zach both for their racing tonight. Good job guys.
Onyx is getting on to it and will soon be hot into racing his car. Zach had a lot of big contenders to race with. Hard to make headway.

I want to see more of onyx racing he knows what he is doing 🎉❤

Love that cat dog special race car inspector!

That is a true half mile now!! Onyx did great!! Makes me feel slow
We need more racing videos! I love seeing the racing videos. I raced in the past and I’m sure it’s hard to video and do all the other things there is to do on race day.
Loved the 4 wide!
wow good job for us seeing you run for the frist time, way to go onyx
He can do it! grew up in Long Prairie and Hillig JD kid ran also
Well I sure had fun watching!!!!
It wasn’t a good night for Zach, but Onyx was smooth. Excellent video production.
Been waiting for this one!!
That is some rough driving....... 2 cars don't fit in the same spot, been on the wrong end of that one a few times!

Live to race another day boys!!👍🏻🇺🇸
Awesome! Been waiting for this.
Freaking awesome video thank you. You both were very enjoyable to watch and dang it just like that I’m into dirt track racing lol thanks again
Respect Onyx. Absolutely epic. Impressive!
Been waiting for this video! Thanks!
We need more racing content on this channel
Kids can drive because they don't know how bad it hurts.
Gotta risk it to win it!
That's the truth.
Yea the wallet.....
I'm just happy to see neck bracing mandatory hans. We had round neck collars that were a joke. My neck kills me bad from all the years dirt track racing and demo derbies! Sure wasn't worth this pain I indure now days.

Excited to see what is in store for Onyx. He is a very well-rounded kid! Hope he never gets too busy he doesn't want to go deer hunting... haha
I think he's graduated to skeet. Deer hunting and Pacific Tuna fishing (Me) require a lot of effort after the kill to process.
At 13, I was a good driver, but I sure wasn’t driving race cars!
Good job onyx, hey Zach you should come racing here in Emo Ontario August 17-19 for the annual rainy river fall fair where the racing is lit!
I liked the picture in picture. Would be nice to know what tracks you guys are going to be at if we wanted to watch live.
Pinkerton won his first race and Rush Series Crate Late Race at 13 with some decent hitters in the field. Onyx already has experience and talent in karts so it’s no problem. It’s more difficult when they throw these young kids out there with that foundation.
Glad to see him racing can’t wait till I have a car to race up hear in Fergus falls
I been waiting for this video!! The farming is good but this is the important stuff! Lol
You all should come down and race in the mod class at the Topless 100!
I used to summer at Lake Carlos when I was a kid! Is the Viking still guarding the streets in Alexandria? It's probably 45 years since I've been there.
LOL to that goofball chatting you up at the end of the video.

Onyx Johnson has a nice NASCAR ring to it
Man ole man.. the QUALITY of this video is NUTS!!
👍👍👍, big step up from go karts
You never want to be the meat in the sandwich. Lol. Good shit bro. Great footage either way.
Great job Onyx.
It's a tough sport. Sometimes you get a break and sometimes you get screwed. Onyx, good clean race. You got 1 under your belt, kick butt next time.
Great racing onyx.
Thats so cool on so many levels
Big and fast track for Onyx he will be ok.
Hopefully someday soon the great white north racetracks will discover asphalt and right hand turns 🤣
Nice job Onyx.
Love the racing
Slicker track on the out side so you can berry it half way to push clean to the out side line.
