So, this song actually took a few listens to grow on me (but Dokyum's pre-chorus part was just *chef's kiss* God, his voice is SO GOOD), but the music video??? That is some tightly edited stuff. So many good moments and transitions and UGH. Also, everyone was FEELING themselves this comeback. You gotta love it.

12:30 on the connection to darling, i wonder if the "L" being shot out changing "darling" to "daring" is intentional? i think so just because it seems so purposeful but it is also the middle letter so it could just be for symmetry's sake. It also matches the vibe of vibe of the rest of the MV, plus the exploding of the neon making sparks and it basically destroying the soft vibe of Darl+ing which is so insane

i was genuinely caught off guard with this cb bc i thought it was only going to be released by this morning and then yt recommended it to me i was like "well, why not watch it then?" and then seventeen ran me over with a bulldozer AND a backhoe. jokes aside, this cb was so good and the mv has some insane editing and transitions, i actually replayed some of them bc of how good they are (i.e the woozi's shadow one)

5 years ago, i found seventeen through your reaction to don't wanna cry. through seventeen i found kpop as a whole. i'd like to say thank you, because it really changed my life.
with kpop, i always have something to look forward to. there's always something new coming out, the groups are all working so hard, and it has helped me get through to the other side of a lot of shitty situations.
several deaths in my family, the end of a 5 year long relationship, a year working at a job that was destroying me.
it truly is a form of therapy.
so, now, even though twice is my ult group, and i don't watch all of seventeen's variety or listen to their music all of the time, they will always be an incredibly special group to me.

it took me a second to like it but only because it’s such a new sound from them but i quickly fell in love with it cause it’s a good freaking song, a crazy insane performance, and an AWESOME FREAKING MUSIC VIDEO
At 30:04 or so (the cut from Joshua and Dino) I think one of its super strong points is actually I think the wardrobe. Dinos greenish jacket almost feels out of place in the red scene he’s in but it feels like it’s literally straight from Joshua’s scene. So when it transitions at least for me, Dino himself being the center of focus and matching the old scene really makes the transition feels seamless.

I have a theory that HOT is about surviving the "real world" MV wise. Like you know how at the end of Darling, they all fell through to like a post apocalyptic world. Yes Pdnim seventeen brought us comfort and healing. They saved me several times. Life has a lot cruelness we may experienced but SEVENTEEN is one of the reasons why i keep going. They gave me strength and happiness. They may not give me the solutions to my problem but at least they keep me sane in this insane world.

Please never change, PD. Like, you're the reason I got so much into Seventeen in the first place, so seeing your reactions to them is always a must and kind of like a homecoming for me. I loved the freaking out moment for Jeonghan because-- same. Jeonghan is my bias too, so the screams I would've preferred to just holler the entire day because of how he looked in this MV... yeah. It was pretty hard to reign it in.
(Apart from the thrusting, he poked his tongue out a little on that move, too. It's like he's onto us and wants to end us)
Sometimes when I’m having a hard time or really need something familiar/safe-feeling to watch to make me feel better for a little while, I come back and watch PD’s reactions to seventeen because they’re just so comforting to me. Even when I’m really depressed, I still get all excited and emotional while watching along. Thank you PD for making these videos and sharing your passion/interest. Even when I get scared because the world is changing around me and time is passing too quickly, your love for seventeen feels like it never changes.
I loved this comeback. Seventeen has switch it up with sounds and concepts a lot but it still always feels like seventeen and they've kept evolving naturally since debut. Love this new direction.

when i first saw the mv i couldn't stop smiling and for some reason i got teary eyed, and i feel sort of giddy and fangirly in a way i haven't in a long time! i think it's mainly because of /how/ good this cb is, and the album has been on repeat all day!!!
with the mv itself, to me, it seems like it's continuing the darl+ing storyline from after they fell. like the hot mv is them in the dystopian world they fell into at the end of darl+ing (since some of them look beaten up), and wonwoo's eye looking like a sun in both of them. in the mural behind jun in darl+ing there's three scenes, and darl+ing started with the first motif and ended with the second motif, and so hot continues it from the second motif, if that makes any sense? i'm unsure if they're going to do a repackage (the "pioneer" being everywhere in this mv could possibly be the title of their repackage or the next tt?), but if they do then perhaps that mv will continue the third motif? idk this is all just some thoughts, what does everyone else think?
