If he had used the “hybrid” vette he would have won the drag race. It’s called the E-Ray. It produces less horsepower but has a decent sized electric motor powering the front axle, which gives it an even better launch. The end result of those roll races comes down to a couple of things. First is turbo lag from that V6 versus V8 being N/A. Second I think guy in the Ford is way more of the designer than he is a racer.
When I was in high school my friend's dad rented out Route 66 drag strip so we could race our cars down the strip. Those engines in those vette’s use flat plane crank V8’s, which is a super car trick for power and RPM. They are also hand built. Imo, the older corvettes with rear engine placement had better, more intuitive handling than the mid-body engine models. And the increase in speed seems largely irrelevant without improved handling, which was excellently matched to power in older models.
That is funny because nearly every race driver says the C8 handles miles better, and puts down power more predictably. And the C8 has beaten nearly all of the C7 corvettes times trim to trim.
@@Loki_Trickster Yeah, the newer model is plainly a better performance car, just much less fun, imo, less intuitive. And on an actual road, that extra performance seems stupid to me, wasted potential that will never be used. If you're into the track, then sure, maybe, if you want to drop the extra cash. But then again, I have a friend with a cuda that he dropped a helicopter engine into, and a computer controlled pneumatic suspension. It runs on aviation fuel and will take most things in the quarter mile or on a track. And again, It's more fun than some finicky toy for rich kids. Personally, that car goes faster than I'm comfortable with even on a track, beyond my capacity to drive well. So to me, all that extra tech to go even further beyond is pointless.
@@willcool713 Except by all recounts you are wrong. The C8 is easier and more intuitive to drive. And on actual roads the C8 rides better, is better at handling modern traffic with dual clutch transmission. Outside of a normal manual gearbox its in every way the better performance and road car. And with basic alignment for purpose only widens that gap. And if your going to say performance is useless then why step outside of a Toyota corolla or a Nissan Versa? By that metric we should just compare the C8 Z51 package to C7 Z51 package. In which the C8 is a whole second and half faster zero to 60, Faster from 20-60, and quicker braking. Has better traction and better all weather performance, All of which benefits in average day to day driving. Oh, so your talking out your butt. Any helicopter engine your "friend" would be able to fit a Cuda hood/trunk space would be a civilian helicopter engine. And those barely reach 400hp. The larger engines wouldn't fit in the confined space of a Cuda without completely destroying its track capabilities and looks. And computer Controlled Pneumatic suspension.. Pneumatic is just air ride nothing special, you can find that in budget Mercedes from the 70's that would fit that description. Hell buick had self adjusting Air ride in the 50's. Magtech suspension available on GM products for decades now is far more advanced changing the fluid viscosity of a oil fill suspension which can instantly change the handling characteristics vs waiting for a solenoid to change air pressure.
Yeah no way that Ford GT is worth a million dollars more than a Z06😂😂 plus the Z that has all the comforts. The GT may be a little quicker but not nearly quick enough to warrant that price difference.

Think how fun those would be on the autobahn
Yeah no way that Ford GT is worth a million dollars more than a Z06😂😂 plus the Z that has all the comforts. The GT may be a little quicker but not nearly quick enough to warrant that price difference.
Did u ever hear about brake boosting it helps alot 😂😂😂
The Corvette ERay is faster than the ZO6 and it's AWD
Please react to the FP700 F-150 4wd single cab. This ford performance fp700 f-150 supercharged v8 goes for under $50k in the US and can smoke a Lamborghini
I don't think the zo6 used the launch control, sounded like he just used the foot brake?
Like they say.....There's no replacement for displacement.
I had a Z06 but they are depreciating fast
You have to see the Haulcat Dodge Ram 1500 vs Tesla model S p100d
Dodge SRT-10 viper truck
Ford SVT F-150 Lightning
Twin turbo F-150 4x4 single cab
Dodge Ram 1500 single cab 4x4 with a hellcat engine
Thats all motor agasint turbo.... corvette is by far best motor
React to the Texas Hennessy venom f5 car review.
We all want one
Gm doesn't have twins turbos straight eng less horsepower 😅😅😎👍🙏❤️
2025 ZR1 eats the GT for breakfast.
Ford Gt's are another more rare.. that's why it's way more expensive
That guy had more excuses he got beat
Just shows a car designer can’t race/drive his own car! Lol
You DON'T brake until you pass the end.
never thought id see a reaction to a drag racing video but hey
Corvette is the fastest USA car made. So the Ford is only like that in Europe. I never seen one of those in the USA at all.
I don't know what you mean, they are made in USA so they are her then go there to Europe second. The guy with the Ford GT said it was highly modified, he mostly meant the body and paint, wing and stuff but you know he added a little something to the engine.
@@digitaldirt7773 they're made in canada by multimatic.
