Hawkeye fan here. I come in peace. I feel your pain. I see obvious parallels here between what Hawk fans had been going through and what you all are unfortunately experiencing. A bad OC affects much more than just the offense (see Brian Ferentz). A bad OC poisons every aspect of the game. A HC who stands by a bad OC is a bad HC. You have a really good (potentially) QB in Riola. He is not ready for prime time yet though and his developement is being hindered by playing behind a bad O-line and poor play calling. He will end up getting hurt, lose his confidence, or transfer, or all of the above. Start HH and let DR develope as needed. Just my perspective from this side of the river. I wish you guys the best. You have suffered long enough. Sports are supposed to be fun to watch.

You are spot on. I’ve used the business analogy with other fans since Pelini was fired. Being a head football coach is no different than being a CEO of a corporation. I’ve always died on this hill. The thing is, Pelini actually performed. He was 67-27 during his tenure and we were ranked every season, and we fired him because he was an asshole? I’ll call it coaching. I love Nebraska, but Pelini was right when he said we’re all a bunch of fair weathered fans. Pelini and Solich are two coaches that could have really developed this program. I like Coach Rhule, if we continue to fire coaches, like we do, this program will never see the playoffs let alone conference championship games, and no coach will ever want to have a job here.

I called the plays when I was a HS coach. There is a simple way to defeat what UCLA was doing on the presnap - go on quick counts! Quit using motion and just run a play on the first sound. Also, he gets real nervous under pressure. Understandable as a freshman. 4- Besides 17, our starting WRs can’t separate (or block). 5- O-Line is underperforming

#1 is just media fluff/rhetoric that's used when struggling for an explanation as to why a team is playing poorly. It means absolutely nothing. They have an identity. They're Nebraska. It's in bold letters at the stadium, it's printed on their jersey's and that's what the "N" on the helmet stands for.
You didn't use the term, but the same can be said for "complimentary football". What does that mean besides the offense doing their job by putting points on the board and the defense doing their job by keeping opponents off the board? They only way that term actually means something is if they say nice things about (compliment) each other on their way on and off the field.

I'm from Columbia, SC. We were shocked and delighted when Nebraska hired Satterfield. His offenses were unprepared more times than not. His play calling was baffling at times and he would call plays that the Gamecocks did not have the talent to pull off. At times you couldn't understand what the offense was trying to accomplish. I'm sure he has forgotten more about football than I'll ever know, but the one consistency in his play calling at SC was he didn't put his offensive players in positions where they could be successful.

Satterfield did a lousy job at South Carolina also! When he got there he had rattler as his quarterback, and he didn't get him better either. Rattler regressed while he was at South Carolina under satterfield. And the fans in South Carolina exploded with thanks to Nebraska for taking this inept coach away from them so they did not have to fire him and pay off his contract. I wish that when Nebraska hires a coach, they don't give them free reign as to all their assistant coaches. We also need to look for a new special teams coach. He has not gotten our players better and there are times you would like to say why are we catching the ball to run it on kickoffs when we could just call fair catch and get out to the 25. And this catching a ball going out of bounds has to stop.

Other teams like UCLA are also showing improvement over the course of the season and Nebraska is not. People were already questioning Rhule about Satterfield last year so he has known this was a problem long before now. It’s a combo of both the OC and the players, but I 100% agree that you don’t just wait around and let the “process” unfold. You just have to look at the 2022 offense to see why. Trey Palmer and Mark Whipple were only here for one year and broke the single season receiving record. Was the rest of the offense good that season? No, but at least there was something about that offense that opposing defenses had to seriously respect or they were going to get torched. There’s nothing about this years offense that commands that level of respect with the current OC and players. And there’s evidence that you can bring in a new OC/players and at least command that respect within a year. So why wait around?

No one ever talks about this!!
We are slow, unathletic and just DO NOT look like a physically gifted team!! We have not one player that looks dominant and can strike fear into opposing players!! None of our running backs can properly pick up a blitz!!! We have the BEST strength facilities out there and it looks like no one uses them. It’s pathetic and disgusting. this is what I've been saying, the offense looks exactly the same every week, if his initial plan isn't working, there's no other plan, its just oh lets throw more screen plays, to me, honestly, being the wide outs coach, or the line coach, if Satterfield had a plan, maybe we would have more than 7 potential plays in our offense, maybe our offense needs a tad more pieces of flair, I don't know, I do know if the offense had been a tad better, I think we could have beaten Ohio State, but I think Satterfield is, the offense looks stale and confused, and all of the other coaches on the offense depend on Satterfield, that to me says it all

Saterfield needs to go agree. BUT firing a coordinator midseason is conceding the season. To fire a coordinator now, you cannot hire another mid season, all your candidates are still in seasons of their own, you are going to turnover Satt’s playbook to someone else to call. You’re going to leave a position group without a position coach. The only way I would make that move is if that coordinator is so toxic players are ready to leave, coaches can’t work with him, it has to be REALLY REALLY toxic.
