  • I thought before we went any farther with our Gelli Plate Play that it might be a good idea to talk about cleaning and conditioning your plate. I hope to make one of these little short videos each week for the next 52 weeks. Hope you enjoy them and yes I bet you have already tried this one.

I don't know if you use BOTH sides of your plate (I do) so I condition both sides and pay attention to the edges because that is where the sticking starts. Glad someone is doing this--I think if you want a good print, it is necessary to clean it occasionally.

I think my homemade gelli plate wants to come live at your house. Hope you are having fun on your vacation. You are missed.

What brand of carpet cake do you buy? The one I have is not clear I didn't even know you could get a clear one I want to try this when I clean up my gelli-plate the next time.

I keep my plate fairly clean after use, but I'm wondering how often should I treat it with mneral oil. Are there signs to look for to know when to get that puppy treated? TFS

Dear I really can't say all depends I guess on age and how much you use it but it will not hurt to treat it to some mineral oil if it dissappears you might do it more than once.
