Thank you so much for this!! I wanted to know how to clean this forever. I also didn't know about the storage idea.

I stopped using the plastic carrier sheets because it caused indentations on my plate. Some manufacturers even advised against those sheets. I now use metal tins to store. Very easy. Thanks for cleaning tips!

I too was getting little circle indentations from the carrier sheets. I think that's why Gelli Arts recommends the copy paper idea. It seems to work much better! I still put them in a tin or clamshell for storage. Glad you found the cleaning tips helpful!

Were you able to get rid of the indentations? Mine has a lot. I hadn’t used my plate for a few years. When I recently took it out it had indentations!

Great video Nicole - I just have one question - is it really ok to use hand sanitizer on the plate, since it contains alcohol and might cause the plate to breakdown especially if you don't use any conditioner on it?

Great question! And, YES - Gelli Arts actually recommends using hand sanitizer for cleaning!

Can storing between sheets of paper can leech out the oil as well? I don't use my gel plates very often, so maybe it's more of an issue when you store them a long time. It ended up stressing me out to be too precious with them, so I'm not super careful anymore 😉

I'm sure you may see the oils leech out on the paper, but that's why you'd want to put it back in the clamshell, a metal tin, or keep it on a glass surface. The paper storage idea is actually from Gelli Arts... I notice that I get less "bubble" marks using paper than if I use the plastic carrier sheets. But, I hear you! Craft supplies are meant to be used and not kept so "precious". :D
