    Hi Robyn, love your channel and your book! Lately my plate isn’t picking up as much. I clean it and store it in the clamshell with cardstock on each side. I condition it every so often with baby oil. But it just isn’t picking up paint, especially ghost prints as well. I’m using the same paints and I’m in the Northeast (weather hasn’t changed much in months). I can’t figure out what might be happening.

    All your videos have been very informative & filled with that oh "so satisfying" crusty, grungy old wall love! 😍 Quick question - are there products that you shouldn't use on a gelli plate? 🤔 Your old wall technique got me to thinking about an old mirror technique that I learned eons ago & it involves spray paint. I can probably try the spray acrylic paint but even that I'm scared to use on my plate. 😳 There are more ideas rolling around in my head too, but I just bought another plate & I don't want to ruin it! I'm addicted to this now! 🎨🤓 LOL Thanks! ✌🏻💜😄 Tish

    I got a used plate from a friend ( was used at a school before) I have tried 3 pulls from it, but each time, the (printing) paper got stuck and actually left a layer of paper on the plate while I stay with the other part in my hand. The paint dries extremely quickly and even stains the plate, i.o.w it leaves a layer that doesn't even come off with a baby wipe. Asif sucked into the plate. Do you think oiling it will help? that maybe it's too dry? I have only ever printed on a homemade plate, which is much stickier, but at least it works 😢😅

  • @Lijanah
    @Lijanah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very surprised that on that special How to Clean the Gel plate, you are not talking at all about clear tape lifting. Is it because it may damage the plate ? And how about the clear sheet of plastic that you pulled from under the plate ? I thought they should be disgarded and never put plastic on the plate as it can leave some kind of bubble marks on the plate ?

    • @RobynMcClendon
      @RobynMcClendon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't show the clear tape technique because i am saving it for a diy washi tape video! That method still leaves residue so i would still recommend using one of the three tips in the video for cleansing the plate. Also, you can take the plastic off or leave it on, I have always left the plastic on and have never had problems.
