I don't blame Jennette McCurdy one bit for not wanting to return to television. She'd been through enough as it is, and I'm glad the reboot respected her decision.
I was glad because very often if one star remains the holdout they often get the "aw come on man don't ruin our fun and think of the hundreds of jobs being created that won't happen unless you sign on" blackmail routine. So glad they respected her decision not to return and proceeded without her.
Poor kid. Although she's always been pretty, she grew up to be gorgeous. If her mom was still alive and in control, I shudder to think that her mother would have used her looks to make things even worse.
I don’t blame Jennette McCurdy for not coming back as it would have been like opening an old wound. While Miranda, Nathan, and Jerry would have been there for her, she experienced too much back then. Also if I may say, I think she’s one of the most tragic Nickelodeon stars. If you really think about it there was no safe haven for her. Being on set was a nightmare and after reading her book being home wasn’t any better
Agreed and it’s harder to rewatch the original iCarly from 2007 or Sam and Cat or any show created by that horrible Dan Schneider upon knowing what Jennette went through. I even have her book and reading it was an emotional rollercoaster and made me feel even more sorry for her and I still feel sorry for her. Heck, she doesn’t even want to be called Sam Puckett or be compared to Sam Puckett because that’s not who she really is and if you saw her in public and say that fill in the blank character to her face, she’ll walk away from you and you’re not getting an autograph or a selfie with her. I like Jennette as a book author better than an actress and she should be free to choose her career without anybody getting in her way.

I respect Jennette McCurdy's decision not to return to acting. What she went through made me cringe. However, it makes me happy to hear that she stays in touch with Miranda Cosgrove.
Back when Frasier first came out, I was too young to appreciate it. Decades pass and my grandma was dying. What she found comfort in was Cheers and Frasier, which she would watch regularly with me. Both shows were great and have precious memories attached. I wish she could have been around for the revival.
I am little bit older than you and was watching Cheers on reruns on a channel while they were still running on TV in the early '90s. I followed the show on to Frasier. I am 44.
As a fan of Mary-Kate & Ashley for almost their entire lives, and the owner of one of their biggest fan pages back in the day, I would've loved to see them in "Fuller House." However, I respect their decision not to do it. They were forced into acting at a young age, and to this day they can't even step outside or go on vacation in another country without the paparazzi following them around. They are doing great in fashion, and that's their passion. We should be happy for them. 🙂
Yeah I don’t think either of them was particularly good at acting, singing or dancing. They are much better with fashion and business ownership. I’m glad they finally are doing what they want to.
I understand Jennette's decision and that she never wanted to be an actress; but I thought the only thing she liked was hanging with Miranda, Nathan, & Jerry and would come back only for them
Absolute respect for her wanting to be happier and take care of herself. I’m glad the show was respectful to her decision and didn’t take pot-shots at her
Well, just because Jennette was good friends with Miranda, didn’t mean she liked being on iCarly. Acting is a hobby, not an obligation. Acting is also dangerous because you would get little to no safety or salvation due to hidden predators looking for the innocent to do something wrong just to make a buck off it. Jennette’s much better as a book author than an actress and wants her acting career left in the past and that’s something we should all respect.
I'd like to think that Jenette McCurdy made more money on her book than what Nickelodeon was willing to pay for the hush money of 300,000 dollars to keep quiet. Can anyone confirm this ?
Jennette McCurdy’s tragic story is the reason why T.V. networks should make sure actors are enthusiastic and passionate about acting in order to avoid toxic controversies like this. Jennette’s story hurt Miranda and everyone around her.
Agreed, I can’t help but feel sorry for Jennette McCurdy upon receiving a hardcover of her 2022 book, I’m Glad My Mom Died. That book was an emotional rollercoaster and I give kudos to Jennette for rightfully expressing the pain of the trauma she was forced to endure until her narcissistic mother went to hell in 2013. Also, she made it abundantly clear that her career as an actress was meant to be left in the past and a warning in advance, if you unexpectedly see her in public and call her Sam Puckett, she’ll turn and walk away from you and you’re not getting an autograph from her or a selfie with her. Acting is a hobby, not an obligation. Acting is also dangerous and you’d get little to no safety or salvation due to hidden predators looking for the innocent to do something wrong so they can make a buck off it. It’s bad enough that Jennette was abused by her narcissistic mother and harassed by the horrible Dan Schneider, who should be in jail by now and she shouldn’t have to go through this nightmare again. She was an innocent frog struggling to survive two snakes and we must respect her decision to quit acting and move on with her life as a book author and that’s that.

As a huge Twin Peaks fan, I was quite disappointed Michael Ontkean didn't come back. Yes his ''brother'' did a fairly good job of playing the ''straight cop'' (who didn't go through any of the previous events of the Twin Peaks cannon and therefore appropriately acted distant from the previous story we're accustomed to while showing that same ''small town warmth'' towards Twin Peaks current citizens)... Sheriff Harry S.Truman, you were missed and I wish you the very best in retirement - thank you for the memories.
To be fair to the actor who portrayed him, Tristan's part in the Gilmore Girls revival was so small I hadn't acctually noticed it was a different person.
Luke Perry refused to come back for the second 90210 Réunion because he already had work, as Fred Andrews on "Riverdale" and died soon after. Shannen Doherty also initially refused to do the show, but did after Peru's death, to honor him.
It may not count because it never aired, but worth a mention… There was supposed to be a Disney+ revival of Lizzie McGuire a couple of years ago. It got scrapped because Hilary Duff and Disney disagreed on its direction and they filmed 2 eps. before production stopped. The parents, brother and Gordo were back but Lalaine was not a part of it. She seems to want to distant herself from Lizzie McGuire.
It's ironic that the baby of the Tanner family was the first to grow up and become successful and independent while several older members made childish comments about her career. The Olsens didn't pop out in 1986 and say they wanted to be on television. Someone else chose for them. If they're done with tv now, more power to them.
There was no reason for Chad Michael Murray to be replaced on Gilmore Girls. Since the reunion episode had to do with graduates of the school returning, and he wasn't a graduate. Last he was seen, he was pulled out to go to military school.
TV reunions in general are mostly a cash grab and more like a bunch of bored old people trying to recreate the past! I respect Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, they’ve moved on and are doing other things than just acting! Even one of the actors who played Leslie and Ann Perkin’s friend from Parks and Recreation turned down the reunion, because it was just an online covid fundraiser and called it a bogus reunion, even Chris Pratt who appeared in the reunion, would later be embarrassed by his reprisal in that reunion!
Maybe you could have included actors who departed series and didn't return for final episodes that included all other departed characters? Nicolette Sheridan's Edie was notably absent from the "dead people in white" montage at the end of Desperate Housewives's final episode, and Lisa Edelstein's Cuddy was glaringly absent from the series finale of House.
I felt like Fuller House didn't work because it was trying extremely hard to be Full House set in 2015 (or whenever it was filmed) and played it extremely safe. It's not that we needed to hear characters cursing in every sentence or something but the world that we live in today in no way resembles the late 80s/early 90s of the original series. Also, the original series put the focus largely on the kids (not that Danny, Jessie and Joey didn't get their storylines--they did) while Fuller House's primary focus seemed to usually be on the the girls and their love lives.
And by the way guys full House may return again but with a different format then Fuller House. Dave Coulier and John Stamos are on board with it. But two things the death of Bob Saget and the personal issues with Lori Loughlin have caused them to put plans on hold. As Candace Cameron said in an interview It wasn't that long ago that the reboot wrapped up and they have to figure things out so they're not there yet. But they had such a good time on Fuller House that they want to return. As this video states there's an idea for second reboot.
Obviously I fully understand why Jennette McCurdy chose not to return but I also think about the Olsen twins that comment one of the made about not being sure if your earliest memories were actually her memories or old footage is heartbreaking these girls were involved in Hollywood from such a young age it's understandable that they would want to step away from the screen
Sadly, they completely missed the point with the iCarly reboot, the show was BOTH of them. Without either, the show should've never moved on to filming.
@@dhenderson1810 Yeah, but it's the difference between willing to be professional and just being a dick. Murray, for all his issues, is the former. Meanwhile, Chevy Chase is known to burn bridges.
@@tcrpgfan Murray wouldn't do a third Ghostbusters because he refused to work with Ramis again and only made up with him because Ramis was on his deathbed. Murray also set out to get Lucy Lui fired from "Charlie's Angels" and refused to do the second one because she was going to be in it. Plus his demeanour and body language on screen often looks like he is phoning it in, half asleep and sees it all as silly. He comes across like he is above it all. Real professionalism. Also, I think his treatment of fans and the media is an act and that he is probably just a big a jerk as Chevy, but hides it better. I'm never been a massive fan of the guy.

I don't blame Jennette or MK&A for not wanting to come back....and the people who bashed the Olsens for doing returning because "that show made them famous" should be ashamed of themselves. Those girls don't owe anything to anybody; they explained why they wouldn't and that should be that.
it sucks that jenntte mccurdy mother treated her so bad that she quit acting, i could understand her not wanting to play sam again, but would of liked to see her still do acting in bigger roles
After seeing a deep dive video on Mary-Kate and Ashleys life and their experience on the show Full house I understand why they don't want to come back.
From what I understand when the Olsen Twins declined to appear in Fuller House they called Elizabeth olsen and asked her to do it. Obviously she declined as well.
@@nmv33 they have built 2 seasons of AJLT on the notion of Samantha being offended by Carrie and hurt by her. A scorn Samantha is capable of many things - like spreading flyers with Richard's cheating face all over Manhattann, just to make herself feel better. So I'm thinking it is not that far fetched.
With "The Brady Bunch". Maureen McCormick refused to return for "The Bradys" drama series. Eve Plumb refused to return for "The Brady Bunch Variety Hour" Susan Olsen didn't come back for "A Very Brady Christmas". Despite hating the show, Robert Reed appeared in every *Brady Bunch" series and its spin offs. He can't have hated it too much.
Hotel was one of the most successful shows in television history. It aired on ABC for five seasons from 1983 to 1988 with James Brolin, Connie Sellecca Tesh, Nathan Cook among others for Spelling Television, a Paramount/Viacom Company. At this point, he's more focused on Hotel because that's where he wanted it to be - but several offers which he turned down were both Marcus Welby reunion TV movies from 1984 to 1988 with Robert Young for MCA Television under Seagram since Fall 1977. Instead, he moved on to all-new projects.
I was 100% expecting Shannen Doherthy, but KIM CATRALL as number one!?!?!? She did say she wouldn't be back for the new series... But she did come back, if only for one scene. So I don't know what she's doing in this video....
Sadly, I don't blame any of them. If hollywood treated their writers well, they wouldn't have to reboot series. But, since they can't come up with anything new and good... they reboot/remake something instead..
Tv shows are great for that time when they try to bring them back it's just not the same and does not work because the humour and viewing habits have changed and the younger generation (generation z) have been denied of sydication great television as they grew up in the age of social media and tiktok and so on there's some shows i'll always love and admire but in my opinion past shows should be left dead and buried and best left in the past and show the old series to the younger generation and at same time have some originality i don't at all blame the actors for not wanting to return because the danger of an actor is "typecasting".
I applaud Jennette McCurdy for setting the way for child actors being abused on set and how some of their parents are toxic as well. I also applaud her for stepping away from acting to heal. While I do miss her on screen, I know she’s successful in other areas
At one stage, "Gilligan's Island" was going to be revived. "The Castaways On Gilligan's Island" telemovie was also a soft pilot with plans on a new series, where the castaways now run a holiday resort on the island. But soft ratings for both revival movies, and the death of Jim Backus, who played Thurston Howell III, caused it to not be turned into a full series. So that show was going to have a "reboot of sorts".
It’s their choice they did before and now they done with it. Jeanette never wanted to be a actress I think her mother should respect her and what she wants in life
I love when she says someone was replaced by another actor. Well, that's great, because I would have hated to see him replaced by a couch.Or a race horse

Tina Louise / Gilligan's Island.
I can see why Jeannette McCurdy did not come back in the iCarly reboot. Given how horrible Dan Schneider treated her and the other child actors.
Shelley Morrison - Will & Grace
I think I heard she retired from acting due to health issues.
She was sick and died in December 2019.
Kat Graham never going back to any of the Vampire Diary Franchise shows. And good for her!!
Yes I bet there will be one in 10 to 15 years if not more but I bet it will happen
I was glad the way Fuller House was done. The show focused on everyone. It didn't need Michelle.
The Netflix revival absolutely RUINED Gilmore Girls, and the lack of Chad Michael Murray had nothing to do with that.
Victoria Principal declined the offer to come back for the Dallas reboot.
I almost hate to say , " and just like that" is working. The show is GREAT and even with kim gone , it WORKS
No one misses Chevy Chase.
Bill Murray would piss on his grave.
@@tcrpgfanBill Murray falls out with fellow co-workers, like Lucy Lui and Harold Ramis.
I have heard Bill is difficult to work with as well.
If these actors were treated with more respect, then they could have came back for a reunion
*#SixSeasonsAndAMovie**!!!!!*
I don't care about Chevy Chase, as long as the others are in the Community movie. 🤗

I don’t blame Jennette McCurdy for refusing to return to acting including but not limited to the iCarly revival from 2021. She made it abundantly clear that her career as an actress was meant to be left in the past and a warning in advance, if you unexpectedly see her in public and call her Sam Puckett, she’ll turn and walk away from you and you’re not getting an autograph from her or a selfie with her.
I don’t blame Jennette McCurdy’s decision. I love that vine though.
I read Jennette’s book, totally recommend it
I don't blame Jennette or MK&A for not wanting to come back....and the people who bashed the Olsens for doing returning because "that show made them famous" should be ashamed of themselves. Those girls don't owe anything to anybody; they explained why they wouldn't and that should be that.
God, I just want to give Jennette a big hug.
I don’t blame Jennette at all.
Didn’t know Gilmore girls had a reboot
Tori spelling reprized her role in 90210.
Ok
it sucks that jenntte mccurdy mother treated her so bad that she quit acting, i could understand her not wanting to play sam again, but would of liked to see her still do acting in bigger roles
Quinto...........do we even know if he was offered the chance to come back?
After seeing a deep dive video on Mary-Kate and Ashleys life and their experience on the show Full house I understand why they don't want to come back.
John Stamos tried to get them fired.
From what I understand when the Olsen Twins declined to appear in Fuller House they called Elizabeth olsen and asked her to do it. Obviously she declined as well.
I was really expecting Tina Louise ("Gilligan's Island")!
There's a difference between "refusing" to return than to decline due to other obligations
I love Jeannette McCurdy
I would've liked to have seen the actor who played Gibby return to I Carly
After that horrible fever dream that was called a second season, absolutely nothing could "breathe life" back into Heroes. DOA.
Really that's number one, what about George Clooney not wanting to do a ER reunion
I wished Samantha would come back and do something outrageous, like suing Carrie for all of her Big money for a breach of contract or something.😂
Samantha wouldn’t do that.
They AppWare'd to have made up with the cameo scene, so no.
With "The Brady Bunch".
Maureen McCormick refused to return for "The Bradys" drama series.
Eve Plumb refused to return for "The Brady Bunch Variety Hour"
Susan Olsen didn't come back for "A Very Brady Christmas".
Despite hating the show, Robert Reed appeared in every *Brady Bunch" series and its spin offs. He can't have hated it too much.
Given what I heard about Nickelodean, I can understand McCurdy's decision.
James brolin who rose to fame in marcus welby didnt do the reunon movie cause he was tied up in his new series HOTEL
Hotel was one of the most successful shows in television history. It aired on ABC for five seasons from 1983 to 1988 with James Brolin,
Connie Sellecca Tesh, Nathan Cook among others for Spelling Television, a Paramount/Viacom Company. At this point, he's more focused
on Hotel because that's where he wanted it to be - but several offers which he turned down were both Marcus Welby reunion TV movies
from 1984 to 1988 with Robert Young for MCA Television under Seagram since Fall 1977. Instead, he moved on to all-new projects.
I only came here expecting to see Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler not being at the Dance Moms reunion...
Elizabeth Olsen (MK & A's sister) offered to come in as Michelle in Fuller House but was told no.
Actually she wasn't told no and she didn't offer to be Michelle on Fuller House. Not hard to find her interview stating as much
I was 100% expecting Shannen Doherthy, but KIM CATRALL as number one!?!?!? She did say she wouldn't be back for the new series... But she did come back, if only for one scene. So I don't know what she's doing in this video....
Samantha. Always was the best! But I understand that she needs peace ❤
Sadly, I don't blame any of them. If hollywood treated their writers well, they wouldn't have to reboot series. But, since they can't come up with anything new and good... they reboot/remake something instead..
I don't blame them
Tv shows are great for that time when they try to bring them back it's just not the same and does not work because the humour and viewing habits have changed and the younger generation (generation z) have been denied of sydication great television as they grew up in the age of social media and tiktok and so on there's some shows i'll always love and admire but in my opinion past shows should be left dead and buried and best left in the past and show the old series to the younger generation and at same time have some originality i don't at all blame the actors for not wanting to return because the danger of an actor is "typecasting".
Schneider was an A-hole -- a very entertaining A-hole -- as a child.
Sorry about McCurdy's mom. Dan's mom was no treasure, either.
Team McCurdy!
"Made its cast into hiusehold names." Uh, Kelsey Grammer was *already* pretty famous.
I applaud Jennette McCurdy for setting the way for child actors being abused on set and how some of their parents are toxic as well. I also applaud her for stepping away from acting to heal. While I do miss her on screen, I know she’s successful in other areas
Tina Louise did not come back as Ginger Grant in any of the 3 TV movies or the 2 cartoon series.
Noah Munck as Gibby in iCarly.
It’s their choice they did before and now they done with it. Jeanette never wanted to be a actress I think her mother should respect her and what she wants in life
Her mom is dead and never respected her.
I love when she says someone was replaced by another actor. Well, that's great, because I would have hated to see him replaced by a couch.Or a race horse
Tina Louise, "Gilligan's Island," but she wasn't missed.
