    KEF maakt er geen geheim van: hun LS60 Wireless speaker is een luidspreker die mogelijks wel de toekomst voor high-fidelity opnieuw zal definiëren. Wanneer je als je merk een dergelijke uitspraak doet, moet je wel heel zeker zijn van je stuk. En dat zijn ze ook, terecht. Zo blijkt, wij gingen langs bij iEar' in Amsterdam tijdens hun KEF event om een 'babbeltje te slaan' met de enige echte Johan Coorg.

    • @naibafabdulkobor4301
      @naibafabdulkobor4301 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You probably know that "Blade amplified" doesn't really nail it. The term "amplified speaker" usually refers to a passive speaker with an in-built amp. Absolutely not the case here. These are full range active DSP controlled speakers with integrated DACs and streamer. Similarities with the Blade range is probably a welcome side effect but that's it. Much more living room friendly scale (really tiny by comparison), unobtrusive design, closed box speakers. Some think they are ugly (most don't). I wonder if these critics would get along with the Pearl. Don't know them from personal experience so I won't further comment.
      The only thing one would still wish from KEF was some room calibration.

    • @Phloored
      @Phloored 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah ah no. Over simplification. These are TRI amped at each speaker with all the crossover work done in the digital domain with flexibility impossible with passive and done before the power amps. This created a direct coupling effect that is a new level of resolution. With dsp the world opens up and the filter designer gets to really execute their craft.

    GR Research received KEF LS50 Metas from one of their customers for evaluation of a complaint about listening fatigue. I'm attaching a link to it below. Among the findings were that the crossover network for the woofer circuit showed cost cutting by use of sandcast resistors, ordinary NPC capacitors, and an iron core inductor. There were also some indications of an ultrasonic resonance often typical of metal dome tweeters such as in the recently introduced KLH model 5 reviewed by Stereophile Magazine. The way in which the cabinet was constructed which was extremely sturdy BTW and the crossover network boards installed made it virtually impossible to remove them for repair or upgrade and re-installation in the enclosure. I'd be interested to hear your comments and whether or not this is typical of your other products. I was surprised since these speakers got so many rave reviews.

      @@ryanschipp8513 Don't distract from the topic. You don't HAVE to put these speakers against the front wall, it's not a recommendation. But you CAN and they will still sound superbly. Not boomy, not coloured. Slim speakers being mounted flush to the wall do not suffer from soundstage smearing or other problems caused by early reflections. But they do need exactly matching EQ so the entire system must be engineered to work this way. Again, LS60 Wireless are NOT designed to work best close to the wall. They will just work similarly well. What do you think, how much distance is required to get an "airy and open" sound? The more the better? Not really. Distance to side walls is a different topic but even there a speaker's directivity is key.
      And just as a reminder: It's not just the amps that can break here. These are not just active speakers but wireless music systems. DACs, streaming boards, WiFi and LAN modules, DSP boards, IR receivers, PSUs for all of them and much more can break as well. If you don't like that concept nobody forces you to buy them. I won't. But (mostly) for different reasons.
