Finally, an actual review with comparison. It's getting harder and harder to find reviews that claim a comparison but never actually show anything useful. Definitely considering the runners up because I won't risk a fan failure. Passive cooling is always the way to go.
Thanks hellcat1988, glad to help! We plan to add more statistics to future videos, but also want to keep things simple at the same time. Only true facts here!
Hey Ryan, we got some of their stuff in order! GTR Lighting, Putco, and Supernova. Diode Dynamics doesn’t make H7 yet but once they release it we’ll add that as well. We should have everything tested in the next month or so
I ordered the NOVSIGHT with 20000 lumens 6000k white LED conversion kit with a built-in Decoding Unit, Anti Flicker @ Amazon for $64.99 I wanted the brightest legal LED bulb available in the market but when my mechanic installed them on my 2014 MB GL450 they were on and off every 3 seconds after a couple of minutes they shot off completely. Luckily my mechanic recommended the BEAMTECH and he has them in stock. Im really happy with the BEAMTECH.
Just bought my 2nd pair of H7 Lightning Dark. LOVE the first pair on first vehicle. This second pair will go into projector lights. Excited to see the results. No joke, these lights are bright.
I bought the cougars for my 17 Nissan Rogue. They are quite a bit brighter than the OEMs. They fit perfectly and I have had them for a little over a year now. I did have to aim them down a bit though. I tried several other cheap Amazon bulbs in some of my other vehicles and I've been most happy with these. I know they're cheap, but I've been happy with them and would recommend them to others.
Hey Blake, thanks for sharing! What model do you run specifically? They just released a new model this year, and we just picked it up for testing soon.
I installed these into my snowmobile as well and luv them. They are much brighter than OEM and would most definitely recommend them to others. And for around $50 I think a great buy.
Hi Bobo, you certainly can, but just make sure to check the temps, and you may want to consider changing the connector to ceramic as well due to the increased heat.
I run the BeamTech on my Lightning in the headlights and fog lights. They’re really good. Couldn’t say how good though, because I changed headlights and fog lights at the same time.
I’m running beamtechs right now..they aren’t the brightest..almost not bright enough..best part is not getting flashed by oncoming drivers..but the highbeams aren’t even really noticeably brighter🤷🏻♂️
Hi, I tried converting my 2019 GTI to LED and it did not work out well. I was never able to fit the bulbs in the light housing. I even took to the light assembly off the car and was not able to get them to fit right. Any suggestions on a kit that would fit right for my car?
Hi Benoit, I know the VW models can be tricky, on top of the H7 bulb adapters. I would reach out to DeAuto group, as they test in specific VW models and can provide a precise recommendation that will work in your vehicle. If we get that headlight housing in our lab though we'll see if we can find something that works well.
Thanks already ordered my hikari Core led low and high beam kit,did my research on these bulbs and they seam to be what i am looking for take care love your honest testing of these bulbs and thanks for educating all of us out here looking to upgrade are headlights
James Adams what’s brighter hikari or cougar motors one? I want it in my 2016 Toyota RAV4 xle I bought 2 lasfit but they don’t last long and get dim. When driving they look light they are not even on.
DBOSS VLOGS the hikaris are better. They might shine alittle higher though. As long as people don’t highbeam you or you see the light not shining into the eyes of on coming traffic your good. If not you may have to lower the aim of the headlights but the hikari is so much better than the cougars
Thanks John for the support! We'll be releasing a new video soon, but you can always check our website for the latest as we keep it up to date based on our tests; www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/
Great video 👍 I just wonder how long those bulbs last? My halogen “blue tinted” one bulb just burned out today bought them bulbs from the clearance bin at orielies about 6 years ago
Thanks nitrous07me! We havn't tested longevity of the LED kits. I would presume they should last longer than halogen bulbs because of the technology. Because they are small brands, their reliability can't be confirmed for sure. The best bet is to check out the Amazon reviews before purchasing. I hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
LED kits don't last, they are very bright. I tried several off amazon and all same results. Very bright until it burns out 6, 9 months, 1 year if you are lucky.
So on the beam tag what happens if the fan stops working is there going to be like a total meltdown in the whole housing will melt and catch on fire or how does this work
The fan is to keep the diodes (LEDs themselves) as cool as possible for optimal cooling. It depends on the brand, but what we have seen from lifespan testing is when the fan stops working, the diodes go into a low output mode (but still work). The output is just reduced to some degree.
Amazing video and very straight to the point! We need more channels and videos like this! Any chance at a video on top heat sink style LEDs? Not many people like using fans LEDs and most prefer to stay away from a mechanical fan due to being exposed to the elements. Otherwise, keep this up! This is great content that everybody should see.
Thanks JDM ASTAR I’m glad it was helpful! We will continue to test new LED kits, and I will be sure to do a video on the best solid state heat sync kit in the future, that is a great idea! Thanks again!
@hitman hit , The next gen DI injectors are much quieter. Toyota and Ford use both type of injectors. Mostly using Di at maximum throttle. If you have a new car you probably don't need LED bulbs.
Dont be afraid of those with fan if you want your led to be bright, in most of the time those with fan are the ones that can push that brightness, which is the main reason why we are switching to Led, for a brighter light. And in most cases fans are hardly the cause of a led failure.
I myself am having brightness issues with my LasFits running in my halogen projectors. Even after adjusting height I don't get good light output down the road. They light up pretty good right in front of the car
@@zaybarz9200 Yeah I have noticed that when I first got into LED's. I just like the availability/price and ease of the installation with LED's VS HID's. First world problems lol
Glad to help Pete! Be sure to check out our latest review video as this one is a bit out of date now as we have tested many new products since then: th-cam.com/video/TXEJVCIsCaA/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing! The kit we have is made of metal and seems to be very high quality. What model specifically? We are looking to test some of their newer models as well.
So i put the katanas in and they are great luv em but I adjusted the beam height on them already.. when i drive up to a wall in the night and move 25 ft back how high should the beam be from the ground?
Hi fossil83, you'll actually want to re-aim your headlights themselves. You can adjust the LEDs in some cases by rotating which may help, but if the hotspot is higher than the halogen was then you'll want to lower them down to match.
I've got the cougar motor led's in my 2000 mustang and I'm Very pleased with them . Very bright , high quality beam , very tight on low beam and I didn't need to adjust my lights at all
Thanks Cbmech! The Cougar motor has an older chip design but still works ok but doesn’t have a good beam in reflectors. I wonder if your headlight reflector concentrates light better. Anyways thanks for sharing, should help other 4th gen Mustang owners out there!
I just put a set in my 1997 F250 heavy duty. They are even better in this than the Mustang. My big complaint with them was the little screw under the o-ring to put the retainer ring on. Now, no screw. Twist it off. Only goes on one way and once installed you can twist it to move the hot spots. The beam is so tight I'm going to be able to adjust the headlights up at least a little. I'm very pleased and will give them a 5 star on amazon.
Thanks for the reviews - great info as always. I do notice your charts are about halogen reflectors, but halogen projectors are pretty common now too. Does the same testing info apply or would projector housings need separate testing?
Hi theRealAV8r - I too agree. We plan to re-test all of our halogen and LED kits in a projector scenario, and will have a separate row in the chart. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Hi Dimitris, you can install LED into virtually any vehicle with some caveats of course like fitment, power draw, etc. What is your specific vehicle including the year?
with headlight dust covers on newer cars, how with the fan keep the bulbs cool? what would be a recommended LED lightbuld for light assemblies with dust covers? I have a 2014 Dodge durango and there is one.
Hey jonnny148. That's a great question, but the LED bulbs run much cooler than halogen. The fans are to simply keep the LEDs themselves (diodes) as cool as possible to maintain maximum brightness, as LEDs dim as they warm up. The fan does a great job lowering the temperature by utilizing the cool air at the back of the headlight. Hope that helps!
@@BulbFacts, i understand that the fan lowers the temperature of the LED, but my question is...how will the fan cool down the bulb if there is a dust cover and no air to move around? I want to get some LEDs for my Durango, but won't spend the money if the fan will overheat because there is no free air in the dust cover.
@@johnnny148 they use the air inside the headlight to cool down. They don't get nearly as hot as a halogen. It's best to keep the dust cover on. You will lose some brightness as the LED runs, but that is the nature of the technology as LEDs are very sensitive to heat.
I just bought the lasfit they are brighter than my original light but for whatever reason on drivers side I notice a bit of a bordering yellow color outline not sure why that would appear & when the light shine up against garage door a bit of yellow I know these bulbs got great reviews by far but I really thought they would be just a bit brighter..
Hi Old Timer! We noticed during our testing that some LED kits have a yellowing to parts of the beam. It appears to be coming from the yellow LED itself. Kits that have quality LEDs like Philips don't seem to suffer from this. We tested one of the Lasfit kits and they didn't perform well, towards the bottom of our chart. Check out some other brands for better performance, and look for 3 or 4 small LEDs in a row on each side, instead of just one, as that mimics the halogen filament. Thanks!
@@BulbFacts yes well tbat is helpful information to know I just bought them yesterday I will return them today & look for the lightning darks & beam techs online see whats the best deal out there thanks much👍
Sounds great! The Lightening Dark is no longer available, and although their new model is good, there are better kits. Be sure to check out our latest LED chart bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/. Let me know what you wind up going with!
The thing with lasfit is which series you get, the L1 and LC6 are the cheapest and will give you a little better than halogens. The LA series would be the lowest end I would go, much better light out put with good beam pattern, the chips are placed correctly to mimic the filament placement. The top end LS series use the lumileds Zes chips and work great, near perfect beam and great down road light with a great hotspot. One size I had a hard time finding a correct replacement for was a 880 for my fogs, the chip need to run left to right with them facing up and down, only found two manufactures that make them correctly and that is morimoto 2 stroke 2.0 and eisenke, so if you need that size then they are it.
@bigtruck guy you definitely get what you pay for. I bought a cheap set for my work truck just to see if LEDs would even work, 2018 F-150 , Ford's are known to have some really wierd issues with LED lights since they use PWM on some vehicles, strangely even the same model can come different ways depending on options, I also have DRL's that can not be turned off. seller had a discount code for $30 off so they ended up being $15 so I thought why not, amazingly they work and are such a improvement over the stock halogen crap bulbs they come with.
I got a Honda CR-V 2017, I bought the Hikari for my low beam and techmax mini for my fog lamps, and the techmax is brighter then the Hikari and also cheaper!! Bulbfact thanks for the advices is so helpful!!
crv 2018 owner here... do LEDS work well with the projectors style lamps? and why did you choose hikari / techmax instead of beamtech/lightning dark ??
Hi Aaron! We do have plans to test fog-light LED kits too. If you are adding a standard LED kit into a fog housing, simliar specs should apply though, but it will be interesting to see how the fog specific kits perform. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!
@@HEMI-MOMMA you got it! We've been busy but we are actually in the process of testing LED in fog applications and should have the results up in the next few weeks with a video shortly after. We appreciate the support!
Hi Nemo, that's the LED's driver typically, which you'll have to use. If there is an additional 'decoder/anti-flicker/etc' module which has both size connectors on the end, that would be optional and only needed if the LED flickers or you see dash errors.
Hey Militant Mind State - The Lightening Darks we tested here are no longer available. If you have a RAM though, I would definitely recommend the decoder option. You don't have to match the brand, as long as the connector type (headlight bulb size) is the same it'll work. Hope that helps!
@@josephwilson9998 each bulb will be different. I have auxbeams all for high/low/fogs. My bulb sizes are H7 (low), H11 (fog), and 9005 (high). I bought matching auxbeams but there was no kit, just matching models. They ran about $40 each set on Amazon.
Joe thx for the tip. I have a 2017 Tacoma Trd sport and wanted to put leds in it also the same with my wife’s 2014 sorrento. Her lights suck! Probably better off taping a couple of flashlights to the front end. Thx again for you help.
Hi AntiBroke19 - Projectors are the best for beam and distance, but a lot of cars and trucks still have reflectors, even new models. The Lasfit kit we tested was quite bad, but we will look into the LS model for testing. Thanks for watching!
Hey welcome to reality, LEDs actually run at a much lower wattage normally (we have only seen one product match the amperage of a halogen). They also normally contain a fan which keeps the temperature down. They all run much cooler over halogen (typically 90-100F vs. 160F+ for halogen). Hope that helps!
How reliable are the fans on these? I would like to put a set on my new truck but my old truck has a set that is strictly passive Cooling and they work fine but I'm just worried about fan failure with dust and moisture
Hey BikerTrashWolf! During my testing I havn't had any issues with the fans, so I can't say for sure how long these kits will last. I would check the Amazon reviews to see if people have any issues there. I did have an issue with a DWVO kit, but the company quickly sent me a replacement, this was as a normal consumer also. We'll look for a way to test for longevity and quality in the future as that is of course an important aspect. Thanks!
Hi Willie, Sealight is a good brand. We tested them a few months back and added them to our test chart, so be sure to check that out for the results. You'll have to scroll down a bit.
@@Rezolution01 they are hidden by default as we only show the top 5 in each category, so you just need to click the 'Load all Budget Kits' button to see them listed.
I've this video is a few years ago, so don't know how new these are but I got some Fahron LEDs in Amazon. Price was great, I replaced hi and lie beams and my fog lights. I confess I don't know much about led lights, but they are WAY BRIGHTER, than the phillips extra visions I had in. One of those blew out in less then a year and the LEDs I got have a 2 year to warranty. The white color looks so much better to me than the halogens did. I haven't had anyone flashing me yet, been about a month, so I assume the glare isn't an issue.
Hi Brandon! The consensus with bad driving conditions like rain seems to be that a lower kelvin temperature is better (4300k for example) as it cuts through fog and air moisture more. It is a trade-off when upgrading to LED kits as the kelvin is typically higher. I hope that answers your question and thank you for watching!
Hey micro love, what is your statement based off of? Here is some info on this: www.powerbulbs.com/us/blog/2015/10/colour-temperature-your-questions-answered
Hey Celso! I'd recommend the Hikari Ultra (amzn.to/2S6Zj81) or the SNGL Superfocus Beam (amzn.to/2Vobf6q), just be sure to re-aim the SNGLs. You can take a look at our halogen projector specific test results chart here: www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/projectors.html
Hey Brandon, the Beamtech may be too large as I know the silverado's has a small margin for the heatsinks. You may want to check out the Techmax or Nineo II Small kits. They are listed on our chart here: www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/
I have a 2015 ford explorer limited and need some help on which led lights would you recomend for my vehicle? I think mine are halogen bulbs with projection casing
Hey Kevin, we'd recommend the Lumibright XT1's (link.bulbfacts.com/lbxt1) as the brightest option for your halogen projectors, and the Hikari Ultra's (amzn.to/2S6Zj81) as the best budget option. If you're looking for something a bit cheaper and still bright, check out the Katana's (amzn.to/2LmUW5q). Hope that helps!
Why do some manuals say not to use led's? I have a custom trail boss and it says not to use them. The higher trim lt trail boss came with them. Is it the housing is different? Thinking of sealights and that is what most people are putting in the custom trail boss. Would like to use them but don't want any issues. Any info would be great.
Hi Catch11. It may be due to the electrical system. Some LEDs may not function correctly or work at all. It may be listed in the manual as it's become a popular thing to upgrade to LEDs, but it's up to you of course.
@@Meekmillan they don't catch Fire but the low beam does burn out fast fortunately they're so bright you can use the DRL's as your low beams if this happens.
I need a pair of lamps for my car(led) and ive tried xenon, halogen and led, but because of limited space for the low beam bulb the ones with fans prevent the protector cap from going back on, they are a h7 fit. Are there any your aware off from your test that will fit into such a small area and allow the cap to go back on, i think i have about 20mm maximum from rear of lamp. But most are 30mm plus and hence stop the replacement of the rubber cover. any ideas / recommendations appreciated thanks
Hi Rodger, I would look into dust cap extensions if possible. If they are rubber boots, measure the size and look for an extended fitment size. You can cut a hole in the center as well and use an extension that way too. It's important to keep the headlight closed up.
Hi petmwister, we haven't tested the T1 model, however the new F16+ model is extremely bright, among the best performing in a reflector style headlight. Hope that helps!
In the charts you give the auxbeam f16 plus has similar power with the gtr ultra series 2...is this true???so no need to give 200$ for led if i can buy similar with 60$???i really appreciate all your honest answers... Thanks
Upon your review of the Hikari Ultra H4 LED, I went ahead and took the leap on my first pair of LED bulbs. I installed one of the bulbs on my CBR250R motorcycle and boy I’m astonished. The low beam cut off is pretty sharp, close to the stock 60/55w Halogen I was running in it before. The beam pattern is as stock as it could get and I had my friend ride my motorcycle to see if it glares, and it does not! I wish both the low and high beam emitters could function(only high or low can function at one point) Also, the bulb is rated to draw 26w, but provides fantastic illumination. Thank you Bulb Facts team, glad your reviews are unbiased and legit.
You got it Arjun, and thank you for sharing! I'm glad it worked out well, and we only do full and honest reviews here. The wattage draw is much lower for LED vs. Halogen as well, a great benefit to LED with much less heat buildup too, which I personally know as well as a previous bike owner, especially the older models :)
Thanks Michael! Check out our latest LED video as well, as we have tested a lot more products since this video; th-cam.com/video/TXEJVCIsCaA/w-d-xo.html

Thanks rAdiant Jet for sharing! From our tests, the Cougar Motor did ok in projectors, but there are much brighter LEDs nowadays since the Cougar Motor became so popular. Check out our LED Projector test chart here: bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/projectors.html
Hey bwd1963, if you have halogen projectors, you can either do a good LED kit (www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/projectors.html) or go for an HID kit (www.bulbfacts.com/hid-kits/chart/). For HID, just be sure to stick with 35w as 55w may burn the bowls, and be sure it has a UV protection coating on the bulbs as well.
Looking to upgrade my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 headlights, from halogen, to led im thinking, any suggestions? would rather not do any trimming.. I live in Alaska so winters are mostly darkness.
Hi Neil, check out the Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0's. They are very slim for the tight fitment of the Silverado. Stay away from kits with large fans if possible as clearance may be an issue.
Hi Azzam, your Charger should take H11 size for the low beams. If you can afford it, go with DeAutoLED as they are far superior to any Amazon kit: link.bulbfacts.com/deautoled-ledkits (use coupon code FACT10 for 10% off). I would recommend the Katana kit for your 9005 type High Beams: amzn.to/2Obe1sX . I hope that helps and thanks for reaching out!
so do you have to change the housing? People keep telling me if I do this with mine it will cause electrical problems and the housing will get destroyed.
Hey Tod, you don't have to change the housing. LED runs much cooler than halogen, as well as utilizes less power. They may be referring to an HID conversion, where some 55w HID bulbs emit a very high amount of UV light and could case dark spots in the housing and then onto the road, but it is rare. Even LED products that meet wattage spec of halogen still run much cooler as well. Hope that helps!

Hey Junior, we completed our fog reflector style tests, here are our latest recommendations; www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#fr We are still in the process of testing in fog projector applications, so stay tuned later for those results!
Hey Mark, the Beamtech's tested well on our CANBUS systems, but some more sensitive vehicles may need an additional capacitor to trick the computer. There is no fan on the Beamtech model we showed in this video, but LED depending on the Hz can interfere with your radio. If that is a concern it's best to look for models with external drivers as they seem to be the least interrupting, but we will be doing further testing on RF interference in the future!
@@markmarquez5431 they should yes. If you have DRLs (Daytime running lights) that are shared with the high-beams, the Beamtech's won't properly dim. This is only the case on some vehicles that have this setup.
Will it shine it at its brightest capacity if you only put them in your highbeam? Because I guess it shines less as lowbneam and more with highbeams on? So if I only put them in my highbeam reflector, will it know that it should use all it´s capacity?
They will produce the maximum output in a high-beam yes. The output will depend on your vehicle in if it keeps the low-beams active while the high-beams trigger.
Hello great video these beamtec and lighting dark will they work good in projector style like i have in my honda accord coupe 2015 exl thanks have a great day
I just installed the “Lasfit “ in my 15 Silverado. I will be testing them tonight BUT, there is a cover that fits over the lamp housing that is not able to be put back on because of the depth of the led. And being fan cooled, if it were to fit, there would be no air space for circulation. Just an FYI.
Hi Gary! You may want to look into an aftermarket dust boot cover for your truck. I would recommend keeping the cover on in order to keep debris, moisture, etc. out of your headlight. The LEDs with a fan actually don't get too hot (around 90F), much less than a halogen in fact, so the fan is really just cooling the LEDs themselves, so even in an enclosed housing you don't have to worry. If you run a fan-less LED type you'll want to be careful as we tested those to get up to 160F+. Thanks!
Hi DrAngel1968! HID would be the best for your projector headlights. Check out the last video we did on Aftermarket HID kits from Amazon here: th-cam.com/video/cr7jdvJcWL4/w-d-xo.html. If you have the funds though, go for a premium kit if possible. For your reflector fogs I'd go with an LED kit like Hikari Ultra or Techmax. Here is the last video we did on that here: th-cam.com/video/TXEJVCIsCaA/w-d-xo.html. Hope that helps!
My question is, there are 2 kinds of headlights with fan and fanless. So if I have a car that has a casing for headlights which is advisable or better to put in? Like those heat sink and with fan bulbs?
Hey 4A PRoductions, either will work well, but a model with a fan is best as they keep the diodes cool for best output. LED runs much cooler than halogen, so there is not worry about heat buildup. Hope that helps!

Which brand and models did you purchase specifically? Take a look at our chart to compare what you bought to see if we tested them. bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/
Hey, any opinions on how to adjust high beam depth? I bought the Hikari Ultras for my high beams and it's a reflector housing. What I'm noticing is, while it's brighter, it doesn't shine far down the road anymore. I'm assuming this is due to the bulbs being longer than the stock ones, thus causing the reflection of the beam to be scattered instead of more focused. Any way you guys know to be able to adjust or fix that?
Hey Bobtart12! Make sure the bulb is set horizontally, with the LEDs facing left to right, if adjustable of course. The beam pattern should be very similar or exact to the halogen. The LEDs should match up to the filament (glow spring) of the halogen, so place them side by side to make sure. The Hikari beam is amazing though and you should see a lot more light down the road, so try checking those things. It may be your headlight itself too not taking well to it, but it's very rare. Hope that helps, let me know!
@@BulbFacts I'm certain I've put them in left to right. I remember telling myself that when doing the install. I'll check again tomorrow morning though. Oddly the beam pattern just scatters badly. I get a floodlight effect where it's much brighter, but on a more open road, the floodlighting causes it to actually not shine as far down the road
Very odd. Can you rotate them inside the housing by chance? Also, did you pick up the correct Hikari (Ultra) kit here? amzn.to/2RB9lhJ. They make another version which is an old design and not very bright. The beam on the Ultra version is simply amazing, but perhaps something is causing trouble. @@BulbFacts yeah man, I'd appreciate the chatter to try to figure it out. I have until the 28th of this month if I need to return them. I actually run the H13 Lightning Dark LED bulbs. They're pretty bright but I expected them to be alot brighter. Over all I've had these on my ram since late November, and they are doing still great
Where can you find that info? If they are Philips or not? I just ordered mine and now I'm wondering if I ordered the wrong ones..😒 . I paid almost 80 on Amazon
For the sealight s1 LED bulb. I am trying to find how many lumens each bulb emitting. I bought them and a little disappointed on the brightness. I checked to see which is better. Yes the sealight has the nice blueish color but it is not brighter than the halogens. It seems to be the same output on the bright side but different on the color side. I just want to know what the number in the lumens output numbers.
Hey Peepster Tom! We actually finally just got the Sealight S1 LED kit in, and will be testing soon. I'll try to get it tested for lumens soon for you though and circle back. We'll be adding it to our chart once it's fully tested in the lab though.
When you text low and high beams, are they coming from a single bulb reflector type headlight or are they separate low and high beam reflectors? Thinking about getting a kit for my 2003 superduty which only uses bulb for headlights
Hey Luis! We have only tested single bulb reflectors so far, both low and high. We'll venture into dual filament bulbs in the future for sure. Hope that helps!
@@BulbFacts perfect! Just trying to get an idea to see if it'll work on my truck. Already ordered the beamtech so I'm excited to see the results when they get here
@@BulbFacts I got a follow-up question, for the beamtech 9007, which way are the LED chips supposed to be placed? One set is directly in the middle while the other one is slightly behind but could either be placed above or below the center LEDs
Luis the LEDs should face left to right, and if they are staggered, you’ll normally want the further front diodes on the lower side. But it’s best to follow the orientation of the plug too as they should only go in one way I believe for 9007.
Very informative video but I'm still having trouble choosing the correct bulb for my 2010 nissan rogue; any suggestions? I'm looking to replace both the low and high beam.
Hey Random Fisherman! You'll probably need H11 for your low-beams and 9005 for your high-beams. It's best to check the user manual, as well as the actual halogen bulbs if you can. Finally, an actual review with comparison. It's getting harder and harder to find reviews that claim a comparison but never actually show anything useful. Definitely considering the runners up because I won't risk a fan failure. Passive cooling is always the way to go.

From personal experience, the Fahren was more yellow than the cougars. But the build quality in the Fahren is great!!!

Very nice video and a nice website for comparing LED light bulbs. You sir made me decide on a light bulb, Thank-you.
I have had beam tech fog lights for a year now and they have been amazing so far. No complaints, highly recommended.
Hey Jay, thanks for sharing! Beamtech is a great choice and were one of the original brands with the new design.
Just bought my 2nd pair of H7 Lightning Dark. LOVE the first pair on first vehicle. This second pair will go into projector lights. Excited to see the results. No joke, these lights are bright.
Thanks Randy for sharing!

Can I replace my OEM halogen (55 watt) with a new Led ( 80 watt) will that cause problems ?
Thanks 🙏🏼⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hi Bobo, you certainly can, but just make sure to check the temps, and you may want to consider changing the connector to ceramic as well due to the increased heat.
I run the BeamTech on my Lightning in the headlights and fog lights. They’re really good. Couldn’t say how good though, because I changed headlights and fog lights at the same time.

Hi,
I tried converting my 2019 GTI to LED and it did not work out well.

I picked up a set of Alla in 2019 still going strong
Love your bulbs, been using them for a while now!
The fan is the first thing to go. They are noisy also.
I installed the beamtechs in both cars. The visibility improved drastically and had them for over a year now.
Thanks for sharing Mattyv! The beamtech is a great choice for the money.

I have a 2011 buick la crosse hid / all lighting will the lightning dark work better than factory and will it agree with my computer ?
Hi orangepete93. I don't believe you'll need CANBUS or PWM modules for your Buick, so any standard HID kit or LED should work well for you.
Lightening Dark LED have a huge failure rate after reading Amazon verified reviews, I will pass on them!
Charles BridgTec I ordered a pair based on this review and one of the connectors was broken out of the box. Poor QC
I feel buying them strictly as high beams might be beneficial to keeping them alive for longer so maybe that’s a better investment for the Dark LEDs.
Uh 80% 5* rating on Amazon, not sure what you're looking at
They use a Cree LED not Philips as stated in the video. I would like to see space limited bulbs tested to see how they fare against the fan units.
My lightening dark kits(h4 and h11) are still going strong with no problems for the past 2 months.
Edit: One of my h4 bulbs went out🤦🏻♂️
how do you adjust glare on bulbs so you dont blind other drivers? specially in 9003 with high and low beans integrated?
Hi fossil83, you'll actually want to re-aim your headlights themselves. You can adjust the LEDs in some cases by rotating which may help, but if the hotspot is higher than the halogen was then you'll want to lower them down to match.
@2:18 reason why I wanted to watch the video .. lol

Cbmech what model did you get? We just tested their newer fanless version and they did better than their old model.
Evidently an older version with a fan .
360 style Leds work better in projectors. If not then go with HIDs

with headlight dust covers on newer cars, how with the fan keep the bulbs cool? what would be a recommended LED lightbuld for light assemblies with dust covers?
I was going to ask does the plate comes off to install but I seen you do that
On H7 and others the collars almost always are removable which makes them easier to install.

Hi Nemo, that's the LED's driver typically, which you'll have to use. If there is an additional 'decoder/anti-flicker/etc' module which has both size connectors on the end, that would be optional and only needed if the LED flickers or you see dash errors.

How are these at night, in the rain?
Hi Brandon! The consensus with bad driving conditions like rain seems to be that a lower kelvin temperature is better (4300k for example) as it cuts through fog and air moisture more.
I wish both the low and high beam emitters could function(only high or low can function at one point)
Also, the bulb is rated to draw 26w, but provides fantastic illumination.
Very detailed review. Captures the pros and cons, not biased on a specific product
Thanks Michael! Check out our latest LED video as well, as we have tested a lot more products since this video; th-cam.com/video/TXEJVCIsCaA/w-d-xo.html
What's the best LEDs for Max brightness on a Chrysler 300 2014
I would recommend an HID conversion since the 300 has projectors. You can find our latest recommendations on both HID and LED on our website; HID: www.bulbfacts.com/hid-kits/recommended/ LED: www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/
I bought the cougars for my 2018 Nissan Altima SR midnight and the work very well in my projector headlights!
I used aukee 9005 and 9006 in my 06 Honda Civic and it was a phenomenal difference from the halogen bulbs
Thanks for sharing Tyler!
I have a projector housing that aim more of the light in the high marking position what about and hid ?
@Elufa Brandon thanks for the suggestion, we've added them to our list for future testing!
Hello, which best size high/low beam should i order for my charger 2016 ? Please advise.
@@BulbFacts Dude thank you.
Those lightening dark have multiple complains on going bad not too long after install. I was about to buy those but I’m back to the lasfit idea

What's a good LED for fog lights?
Hey Junior, we completed our fog reflector style tests, here are our latest recommendations; www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#fr We are still in the process of testing in fog projector applications, so stay tuned later for those results!
Does beamtech need sonething to prevent flickering of DRL? And does the fan cause static on car radio?
Hey Mark, the Beamtech's tested well on our CANBUS systems, but some more sensitive vehicles may need an additional capacitor to trick the computer. There is no fan on the Beamtech model we showed in this video, but LED depending on the Hz can interfere with your radio. If that is a concern it's best to look for models with external drivers as they seem to be the least interrupting, but we will be doing further testing on RF interference in the future!
Does the external drivers prevent flickering too? And in the other comment, what do you mean by the drl as shared? Thanks!
Hello great video these beamtec and lighting dark will they work good in projector style like i have in my honda accord coupe 2015 exl thanks have a great day
Hi Carl, thanks! Check out our latest recommendations here, as they have chanced drastically since this video: bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#hp
Thanks!
What is the best option for fog and headlight hid for 2016 Honda pilot
Thank you for your input! Appreciate it. How about some reviews on the switchbacks for fogs let’s say.?
@@3AProductions certainly, we plan to test more switchback products in the future. Boslla and DeAutoLED make great options that are very bright.
I’m getting que Auxbeam h16 plus for my 14 Ford F150 FX4. Are h16 plus really good or do you recommend something better?
The Auxbeam F16 Plus LEDs are a good choice. But if you are looking for the best LEDs, check out our latest recommendations here; bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/
Hey I purchased two pairs of led low beam lights.
1. Watt 60w (30w/ bulb) & Lumens 6000LM
2. Watt 50w (25w/ bulb) & Lumens 5000LM
I obviously want high visibility but dont want to blind on coming drivers - what do you suggest?
Feel free to email me via my website also and we can chat that way to help get it figured out.
@@BulbFacts yeah man, I'd appreciate the chatter to try to figure it out. I have until the 28th of this month if I need to return them. The lows look fine, they're in a projector housing and have a nice pattern and cutoff, only issue is a very small shadow in the left one. But the highs, they just scatter everywhere and don't shine down the road at all. But I'll EMail you.
Sounds great, I'll message you there.
I installed the 6000k Lasfit low and high beams yesterday, they look amazing, the color is perfect exactly what I was looking for.
I hope they last at least one year.
Thanks for taking the time for reviewing and sharing.
Thanks for sharing! We'll be taking a look at some newer Lastfit models for testing soon as well.
How have your led held up?? are they white or bluish
@@Bassingtv They are very white.
@@Bassingtv I’ve had mine for about 4 years now and one is giving out from the looks of it but they’re pretty good.
@@KeekOhhh I actually already purchased them about 2-3 months ago and they have been working good so far man.
Just got the Lighting Dark for our company truck. They are very bright and look great. However, I’ve heard complaints of people saying they only last 6 months. Has anyone had them for a while and can attest to that?
Hi Alejandro. I presume they were referring to their old model which is discontinued. Their new model seems to perform better, which I'm guessing you picked up as they have been out for more than a year or so now.
@@BulbFacts good to know. Thank you. I’ve had them on for a week and I’m loving them! I hope they last for a while.
just ordered a set of fahren led's for my 16 taurus, got them today, havent installed yet..hope they perform well
What's the best long lasting affordable led low beams for a toyota highlander 2019..h11?
Hi Amos! Here is a link to the top 3 products for halogen projectors, which your Highlander has. Just be careful of fitment as I believe the space is kinda tight; www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#hp
I'm using the wontonwolf led rated at 10k lumes and I feel it's spot on. I have them in my high beams and the road bends away before the light cuts. Highly recommend these
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll be sure to add them to our list for testing!
I actually run the H13 Lightning Dark LED bulbs. They're pretty bright but I expected them to be alot brighter. Over all I've had these on my ram since late November, and they are doing still great
Hi Justo, what model Lightening Dark did you get? There are two versions, and the Philips LED version is the one that performs well.
Where can you find that info? If they are Philips or not? I just ordered mine and now I'm wondering if I ordered the wrong ones..😒 . I paid almost 80 on Amazon
Zdatt 12000LM H11 is it good what do you think ?
Hey One Hut! We're not a fan of the multi-sided design, as they typically don't perform well. We'll look into testing them though in the future!
@@BulbFacts Thanks
I have a 1985 Toyota Supra that has the H6054 sealed beam headlights and I am trying to find a good LED conversion kit. Any recommendations ?
Hey TJ, we haven't tested 5x7 sealed beams, but I would take a look at this video from HR: th-cam.com/video/xWT5h-WWHTU/w-d-xo.html
Already ordered the beamtech so I'm excited to see the results when they get here
@@frosty0219 sounds great and not a problem!
