Use taj mahal or society tea bag. These are brown tea, tea bags. The chole doesnt acquire the flavour of the tea bags. Use non flavoured tea bags.

Another trick we do in North India is add around 2tbsp Channa dal with chole when they boil so it gives a good texture and in the end result no one knows. 😀
