I feel like they came up with sticking it to walls, and then someone pointed out that it was actually kinda nice and not very goofy, so they went "alright you can stick it to your teammates too then"

I didn't quite understand that Moira change at first, but now that I think about it, does that mean your heal ability now locks on to allies, and your damage ability damages with an AOE? If so, that's incredible.
They gotta implement this permanently.

i kinda like some of these for the base game. like the cassidy passive is a really cool idea and the illiari being buffed in her ult also sounds cool (obvi not as much as they buffed her in the patch)

Agreed, let's shower them with feedback and suggestions on the forums asking for it. Wouldn't be surprised if a few of these changes are lowkey testing for potential reworks or future hero abilities. How could you not utilize this event for it.
The Cass's one sounds great for a "duel" ability to replace Fan the Hammer or Nade. Just use a range or LOS for picking the random target, add timer/LOS break condition to win/lose duel and consider the possibility to alert the target they're being challenged or the entire lobby there's a new target.

Was playing it earlier without checking anything, and I was on rein and I turned the corner to see a massive rein with a turret on his head, and a mobile bastion right behind him.
I'm pretty sure they've made some of the previous April Fools Day changes real, so some of these could become real one day as well.

Some of the changes for heroes that seem reasonable are so obviously snuck in there trying to blend in and its hilarious

For the Mauga one: When characters kill many enemies in quick succession, they say “I’m on fire!”. Once this is activated, Mauga can simply ignite them by hitting them.

Some of these changes kinda cook
- Bastion changes could work with some number tuning
- Widow having a way to get grapple back when the entire enemy team decides to dive is fire
- Junkrat primary fire should have always worked that way, might need the fire rate or explosion falloff tuned though
- Winston secondary is rewarding aim is cool but is kind of terrifying
- Sojourn pull is sick but probably too strong with its current damage
the torb one would be lit tho
I have deadass recommended rein should get a parry for while now, actually kinda funny to see it in April fools now who knows, maybe they push some variation to live

The ball change is actually big brain, incentivises a longer press of the strafe, making the crit more predictable, WHOEVER MADE THIS PATCH, MORE OF THIS PLEASE, I HOPE YOU'RE READING and i hope you recieve the appropriate ammount and preference of head.

My Overwatch 2 April fools patch - game is now 7v7 with 3 tanks.
honestly wouldnt mind of soldier was built around sprint above all else, as in sprint is the strongest possible sacrificing a bit of his power in other areas... way more fun to move fast enough to flank

Duh, it was the same way last year. They give him something funny, not something "fun". Sure parrying with Genji sounds fun, but the only way it would've been fun is if they decreased deflect cooldown.
If I was doing this update I would've made Genji's ult and primary fire switch so he normally has dragon blade out. Give his swift strike 2 or 3 charges so he can dash more often to close distance. Reduce the swing damage to 100 but increase swift strike damage to 75. And now his ult shoots shurikens as fast as he swings his sword with a tighter spread. Goal is to turn Genji into an actual anime swordsman, zipping around like Vergil, Levi, Ryu Hayabusa.
Or if you really wanna be stupid: Genji's ult is now called Dragon storm. Takes longer to charge, but deflecting damage increases charge speed. He now 2 taps any enemy with his ult (3 taps tanks), deflect is active while ulting. Swift strike locks on to the enemy closest to the center of your reticle. Ult duration is 4 seconds. Dies when ultimate ends 😂
No cap, being able to put your turret on the wall or ceiling is actually a great idea.
I have long thought that the only thing needed to make Torb's turret more viable in higher play would be to remove the targeting laser - but I also like the mag-lock option (from borderlands 2) and the "head-mount" shown off here =0)
Torb's turret should get a Wrangler feature like Team Fortress 2 Engi

I’m not gonna lie this patch genuinely has some good ideas.
The 2nd doom change is actually very smart. As a matter of fact many doom mains complain that power blocks contradicts the rest of doom's kit because of the speed penalty. The devs should consider implementing this change permanently!

I’ve been having so much fun with the Moira changes. Her new healing mechanic and seems to offer more value to her than just damage! Interesting I wish they added a heal to her normal kit. 😢😢
