What tracks do you run at mate?
Fullboost - Wakefield Park, Marulan,and QR.
Find a nice exhaust and intake ?
Set of ferodo DS200 pads, decent brake fluid (motul 660), upgraded engine mount/mounts then track it... great little cars!!

A short intake to a pod makes the induction noise sound so nice. A resonator delete makes the exhaust crackle on deceleration.
I like the fact that the car is quiet :)
I was impressed it got into the 14s. Not bad for a stock frog
I miss it. Few things. It is the Cup model but no, they didn't come with LSDs which is a shame. The tune is an off the shelf "98 octane tune". The RSTuner guy is Dutch I think and will send you custom maps which you can use the same hardware to upload. Yes, they eat engine mounts but if you "upgrade" you add NVH to what is a very pleasant to drive car. Just keep replacing them with OEM. Renault got the balance right (apart from the LSD). It's a great , easy to live with street car in stock form. Please do some track days with just the basic mods - brakes, rubber. That's where it will shine although it is also a great street car. There's not much it can't keep up with in the twisties. The car I'm driving now is significantly more powerful and AWD but I still miss that FWD Megane a lot and may have to buy another one at some stage.
The Skoda Cupra lip is a popular replacement for the factory lip. Google says they're about $150

Id recommend the superpro rear swaybar. They are easy to fit and improve turn in.
That would be because theyre an Australian brand. Im pretty sure there is retailer in the UK that stocks them.
Kamracing the one they stock is for the mk iii but they should be able to get you one for the mk ii

These burn the thought the engine mounts. Better to upgrade them. Only the r26 and r26r came with lsd's. There is a quaife that you can get for it. Better rubber and suspension and you should be pulling in porsches at the track. These cars are more about corners than quarter miles but it is good to see they can get in to the 14's in almost stock form. There is a guy in emu plains that does really good tunes for renault's.

Art Vandelay, Sad..but true. My mate has one. Drives it to and from work each day, then competes in club days, hillclimbs and motorkhana's on weekends. Better rubber, secondary bonnet latch, air filter and exhaust aannnnnnd...it successfully competes against cars like porches, turbo falcons ect. Id never have one, but his has been trouble free.

Not really that car is no longer with us. They are a quick car for the money.
I own the same car love he car but he build quality isn’t there but you forget all about that when it’s running and your leaving most vehicles behind

Yes we have done many country roads in this car and in stock form it performs quite well.

Agree totally. I lived in marseille for years and have some experience tuning my Renaults and they can be a bit problematic if not done right. It’s a great driving car for what it is

The dyno measures power at the wheels, of course it's going to make less thna 225hp.

That's wheel hp. That's a pretty good figure for a bone stock 2 litre daily driver. There's a significant loss through the drivetrain. For instance an AMG Benz which makes 505hp at the flywheel makes 360hp at the wheels. I've seen them dynoed.
loss through should be around 5% for FWD, 10% for rwd and 15-20% for awd cars

I’m surprised it’s lasted this long because all French vehicles manufacturers are rubbish. Some model I’ve work on different brands have engine , transmission, wiring and just all around rubbish design of almost everything put or designed on each model or brand of French vehicle’s

Gaz Girl is right, Renault from '97-09 era made rubish cars.. as he said.. tho only thing i like are some engines.. like 2.0 f7r megane engine used in btcc that made 320hp (thats more then hp/l of formula antlantic 4age's)
