I love the horror lyrics in music and it dose make it heavy but a lot of things can make songs heavy without horror and other things like Alex said but yeah, for example wasted time by Skid Row is very heavy but not heavy in metal heavy but in the lyrics and other little things
I'm glad he mentions From Skin to Liquid, to me it's by far their best track of all time and always found it odd it wasn't brought up way more in the death metal world.
I have to disagree with the last bit of everyone writing is better. Take a listen to the first 5-6 Black Sabbath records with Ozzy. Then, listen to those last ones. Yuck... To go from the dark and moody stuff to define a whole new genre in rock with staples Black Sabbath, War Pigs, Paranoid, etc to vomit inducing Rock n Roll Doctor, Never Say Die, etc. A real shame when Geezer stopped helping the band put out quality material. Both lyrics and music suffered in the latter years of Ozzy's tenure.
I remember this interview. Thanks for the clip!
@@KuuchieTaker No problem!
