Police , sheriff, and fire /ambulance services are very limited in the desert. Just not enough of them to always be close not to mention outside of town it can take some time to even find the people calling in . I've seen a few times where someone had to meet police or ambulance at paved roads then lead them to the problem.
While your reference to the 1999 “found footage” feature film written and directed by Daniel Myrick is an interesting comparison, The Blair Witch movie depicts a supernatural or paranormal encounter. Cryptozoology focuses on the evidence-based study of creatures that are bound by the known laws of physics. The footage shown in this brief video was taken with near-infrared illumination and captured on a recording device utilizing magnetic tape media to record electrical impulses provided by a charge-coupled device stimulated by environmental photons reflected into the camera lens after striking the presumed cryptid. That is where the similarities begin, end, and loiter briefly in the liminal space between.

This is an interesting clip. I looked closer at some of the frames and the subject does appear to have typical sasquatchian features and body mechanics. I'm going to forward this clip and info to a couple of people who might be interested in doing a more detailed analysis. Is there any way to contact you (the original uploader)?

What was the squawking noise .. ? Then you can hear a guttural growl/grunt .. Was that the dog? Did you smell anything ? Did you start recording because of an un-easy feeling like you were being watched? .. How far away were you from that bush? Thanks for the upload really interesting stuff. We kept hearing that sound. Sometimes far away, sometimes close. There was a faint odor like a skunk but not as sharp. Musky and unpleasant. We heard grunts and that loud cry, but couldn't really see anything at first. A couple of times I thought I saw something moving, but it was very dark and we couldn't tell if it was the campfire throwing shadows. The bush was maybe 40 feet away and there were crackling branch sounds. The night vision on the camera showed what we couldn't see with our naked eyes.
That’s a good point. It’s possible that the vocalizations wasn’t apparent to the camera operator at the time of filming and the audio was boosted during subsequent analysis of the captured recording. Official results are still weeks away due to the magretometric survey that is required before any conclusions can be made. Thank you for your comment.

People get nervous... Maybe they felt uncomfortable.or threatened. Ya know?
Police agencies have trained personnel who are equipped with small beanbag weapons and magnetic shielding.
Seems staged to me, why soon as it makes a sound at the end, you turn the camera right off??
