I absolutely love the optimism so inherent in this attraction. And I admire the message that the ultimate reward of progress is more time for wholesome recreation together as a family. Just good old fashioned American values. I don’t think you’ll ever see a modern theme park attraction like this again.

Speaking of which, the "something to do" line in the third act should serve as an obvious hint for a legitimate reason for experiencing this attraction, basically by giving guests something to do while waiting for their next designated ride or dining reservation, so they won't feel bored over having to spend too much time in line!

I got to experience it back in 1973 when I was just 4 yrs old, during it's last yr at Disneyland. I absolutely loved it, it was the most stand out memory I always had from that visit. Disneyland replaced it with "America Sings" in the lead up to the bicentennial in 1976. I'd always wished I could see it again. I was in my early teens when I learned it was actually at Disneyworld, but still figured I'd never see it. Thankfully in 1996, with a little family of my own by then, my husband got stationed in the Tampa Bay area. I first went with my 2 young daughters and got to enjoy sharing it with them, and later went back with just my husband. It was his 1st time seeing it despite also growing up in Southern California when it was at Disneyland. I've always been grateful I got to fulfill my childhood wish of getting to see it again and I still love it just as much today, a little over 50 yrs after I first saw it.

🎠It's not flashy, but iconic to WDW. Glad it's finally in your library and no one messed up your filming. Not sure why they don't change the last scene (clothes) more than they do (such a big deal wouldn't be made about it....) but it's a nice place for A/C as long as you get there before it closes! Thanks for keeping in the preshow with Walt! 💜

It's so nice to hear the wonderful voice talents of the incomparable MEL BLANC as "Uncle Orville."
Speaking of great voice talents, Thurl Ravenscroft (aka the voice of "Tony the Tiger" of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes fame) provides the race play by play at the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. He's also one of the crooning Ghouls at the Haunted Mansion as well as one of the singers on The Pirates of the Caribbean.

I remember my mom use to refer to the "ice box." For years, I would call our refrigerator the ice box. My daughters were confused, so I had to explain it to them. To this day I'll still occasionally say, "Put it in the ice box." CofP has always been a favorite of mine because it reminds me of my parents. I'm glad they did a little update on the last scene. I keep thinking one day Disney is going to demolish the attraction.

Nice that they finally updated the clothes everyone's wearing in the last scene. They really ought to update the script and the props though... The technology depicted in this scene was cutting-edge in the 90's (though believe it or not all of it did exist and was widely available back then) but nowadays all of that technology has become commonplace and much more evolved, or in the case of things like laser discs and car phones has been superceded by newer technologies.

Beautifully shot! I fell in love with this attraction in the early 1970's at Disneyland. Back then, instead of exiting the building, guests would take a moving ramp from the stage that would take you to the 2nd floor. There, we would experience the post show. The model of EPCOT was in the center. You can see a slice of the EPCOT model on The Peoplemover. Anyway, Mother and Father would describe how this modern city was an electric city of the future. GE was the sponsor and this was a free attraction back when there was an A-E ticket book.

This version is a 1990's update. The last scene originally was set in the modern day for the World's fair. I am kind of wishing they had kept all of the original dialogue and the tech from the last scene. Starting in the 40's section, the dialogue has been changed to reflect "modern sensibilities" but the wife comes off as a dismissive, negative character. The last scene is so "up to the minute" that it is the most dated part. I am old enough to remember all of the versions and changes, and I miss the wide eyed, joyful embrace of the possibilities that innovation can give. Even so, I loved this walk down memory lane, and believe there is STILL -a great big beautiful tomorrow!

John: Uh oh! I’ve blown the whole neighborhood again.
Neighbor: Gary! He did it again! Go over and give that neighbor of ours what for!
    Rover: (growls)
    John: Easy, Rover.
Jee whiz, he didn’t do it on purpose. Why can’t we all just get along?

The final scene was originally the 1960s, and the final scene is the only one that got a time period change.

I wish they would bring back the original score: “Now Is The Time.”

I heard that “now is the time” was actually not the original.

"It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" is the original theme song. The theme song you're referring to was actually named "The Best Time of Your Life," which was the theme song from 1975 - 1981.

Does anyone know how I can find the more modern remake of "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" from the very last stage before they exit? I've been looking for it for years.
