Just got back home from a little sesh; I just taught myself how to skate backwards last time I was out. Weather is still not with me, but it's getting better, so I can finally go outside again without getting soggy skates. Love your videos... LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Love watching your videos man. You look like you are having a great time skating and it's always a joy to watch when I can't get out myself. Keep up the flow and enjoyment
I only discovered your channel yesterday but im already obsessed with your videos!!! Love to see how you cruse around the city with the rollerblades!!!! Plus your videos are a great motivation for me as I am trying rollerblading next week for the first time so super excited!!! Cant wait to start learning!!! Its also interesting to listen to a new genre of music when i watch your videos then the one i usually listen to.
Awesome skate flow and music with some great shots of the Philly city!! Been doing more of the soul slides too after watching your videos great way to help slow down during higher speed acceleration.
damn, I just caught your video/channel today! I was in philly about 2 weeks ago, lots of these sights I recgonize b/c I skated them as well. Love your style, your speed/flow reminds me of how I skate, I wish I had seen your channel before I visited the town, I would've had you show me the sights when I was there...I got in 2 great days of skating...I think south street was one of my favs! Great video, I'll check out some of your others. I personally don't make videos, but I travel to urban centers for a few days at a time on my days off of work just for the flow discovery!
Hey, that's awesome! Man, I'm jealous of your travel to different towns for different flows. That sounds like a ton of fun. I actually haven't skated South Street yet, so I'll put that on my list! Thanks for stopping by, happy skating and happy travels :)
it must have been hard to rest your ankle with those temperature. It would have been much easier here we stilll got way too much snow😮💨. Love your vids makes me impatient for spring!
Sorry to hear you still have the snow, that's a bummer. The fortunate thing about the ankle is I was resting during the worst skating months of the year, so it could have been worse. Happy spring skating whenever it finally comes for you!
Hope you’re doing well too! That is Paine’s Park, right near the art museum. I like to skate through thinking I’m gonna do something cool and then not really do anything cool. One of these days… 😂
Although I live in a nice small historical and pittoresque (?) city in the Netherlands, I envy your “playground “ !😄 Great skating and Philadelphia might be worthy to visit sometime!? Please tell me… is there really a “Rocky” statue ? (sorry..I’m old)
It's funny because before skating Philadelphia, I assumed it would be rough because it's "so old". And Philadelphia is and old city... compared to the rest of America, but of course a baby compared to the rest of the world. We'd love to you have you in the city of brotherly love! Yes, there is a statue of Rocky off to the side of the art museum steps he famously ran up in the movie and it always has people lined up to take photos with it. I will try to remember to get some footage of it for you next time I'm down there.
Nice flow! Phili is such a fantastic city to skate. A friend and I used to skate all over the city all night all the time (when we lived there of course). Just got some skates and am looking forward to some similar long sessions, although Leipzig is a shitty city to skate 🤷🏻♂
Great flow session, looked to be a perfect day for some sun filled cold winter inline skating. That's a bummer to hear the news about your ankle, but glad to hear you've recovered! Curious to know how many miles do you usually cover, if you use a tracker?
Thanks so much! Yeah, the ankle is not back to 100% yet, but I can skate pain-free, which is all I need at the moment. I think I usually average between 10-12 miles/hr during a city session and they're usually 60-90 minutes. I wore my Garmin running watch when I first started skating again to help track calories burned as I shed some weight and got back into shape. But once I had an idea of what I was getting out of my sessions and got my fitness back, I stopped wearing it. Basically because I didn't need the granular data anymore and I could just feel how much of a workout I was getting. I've thought about wearing it again just to look back at the miles I put in. I've always got my phone on me, so it wouldn't be hard even if I didn't want to wear the watch.
I wish the weather looked like that here (Central Canada) in January. There wasn't an inch of pavement visible, just mountains upon mountains of snow. Snow is still on the roads. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait until mid to late April before I can head back out. Question. What helmet do you use? I've been looking for a low profile helmet, yours doesn't seem that bulbous.
Ah bummer, I know Philadelphia isn't the best winter, but it could be worse. This is the Triple 8 Dual Certified Mips: triple8.com/products/dual-certified-mips-helmet?variant=32223090442377 I'll say I do have a small head though, so that may be why it seems less bulbous, lol. It's not advertised as a low profile helmet or anything.
Thanks! At least the timing was optimal for weather. February and March are the worst skating months, so sitting on the sidelines was a little easier. The hoodie definitely improves my skating :)
@@rerollinginline yeah im super lucky here in new zealand worst case scenario i cant skate for a day or two over the winter due to wet weather otherwise we can skate all year round
These are the FR1 Deluxe Intuition skates. I got mine at Inline Warehouse: www.inlinewarehouse.com/FR_Skates_FR1_80_Deluxe_Intuition/descpage-1DLXB20.html If you're in the US, they're a great online retailer. Outside the US, I guess it depends on where you live.
The skates are FR1 Deluxe Intuition. In this video, I'm using FR Street Invader 80mm wheels on the NN Dragon 5x80mm frame, but I've use other setups more often, in my other videos.
Hills can be fun... in one direction, haha. I realize I'm pretty fortunate where I live. I have to drive to Philadelphia where I do my city skating, but I still have places closes to home as well. The city is just the most fun.
Not if my visibility is good. What you don’t see in the video is what I’m looking at. You constantly have to assess what’s coming when city skating. If I wasn’t confident I could go around a corner safely, then I wouldn’t. I get plenty of footage that doesn’t make it into the video because I’m forced to stop or slow down either because something is in the way, or I don’t have good enough visibility to be confident about what’s ahead.
Just so you know the background music uses the F word during the second song. Great video, but I don't really feel comfortable watching these videos if I might get surprised like that. Philadelphia looks like a blast to skate though, I love your technique too! Best wishes!
Although this channel and its content aren't explicitly for kids or anything, I still want it to be profanity-free and generally viewable by any audience. I have nieces, nephews and friends children who watch the channel after asking me if there is anything a parent may not want a child to see. Obviously things can pop up unintentionally like they did in this song. I was actually able to edit this particular F bomb out without re-uploading, so it's no longer in the video. Thanks for watching and best wishes to you as well!
@@rerollinginline Thanks! I appreciate that you do that. I've had some skating videos that I really loved, but had to essentially only watch once because of the profanity in the background, so thanks a ton! Truly a beautiful video, and I'll definitely watch it again.
