    why do you use a velcro strap and not the buckle strap that came with your skates? What are the pros and cons to switching that kind of strap? love your videos!

    • @andybermudez1423
      @andybermudez1423 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The velcro strap helps by having a more adjustable fit and it's harder to over tighten. It's also faster to put on and remove the skates especially with elastic laces. The down side is that the velcro wears down after a while but they're usually only about 10 bucks to replace them. I've had mine for about 6 months now and they're still going strong.

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ratchet strap that came on my FR1s was rattling a ton, driving me insane. So I ordered the Velcro power strap and never looked back. It’s simpler, quieter, more comfortable and I think looks better. I also discovered that decent wax laces do a better job of securing my foot than the ratchet strap anyway. Laces are key in that area of the skate. At least that’s my opinion. Your mileage may vary! Thanks for watching 🙏

      Thanks! Lol yeah it felt good to do some sliding in this session. I slid more than probably necessary, but that’s intentional. A lot of my sliding stops are purely to keep the skills sharp and practice, not because I must stop that way. It’s so that in an emergency, there will be no hesitation. In reality, I avoid even the chance of needing an emergency stop, but I want to know I have it just in case!

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t have a specific model to recommend, unfortunately. The only skates I really know are the FR1 Deluxe Intuition that you see in this video. They haven’t let me down though. If you’re going to do urban skating and want stability, plastic hard-shell boots with a removable liner (like mine) should serve you well. They’re generally categorized as “urban” or “free skate” style skates. Thanks for the support!

      @rerollinginline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately I don’t have any specific advice for knee pain, sorry. Skating without much jumping, stair riding, tricks etc shouldn’t put much strain on the knees if you take it easy though. It’s a great low-impact cardio workout in that way. Just depends on exactly how you’re skating.

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This video I’m using Rollerblade Hydrogen wheels, which are 85A hardness. It depends on how often I skate and what kind of skating. If I’m skating as much as I like, about 5 times/week, I can go through wheels in about 10 weeks. But they can last much longer if I’m skating that much every single week.

    Great video, as usual! How would you compare 90 vs 100 frames for the city?

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I think I prefer the 90s. This is of course just my opinion. I still think you can’t go wrong with either. But I have a 265mm foot, and the Endless 90 frames have a wheelbase of 276mm. This means I still get a frame longer than my foot, which gives me stability. Also, the 90s are just more nimble and accelerate easier than the 100s. The top speed is slower on the 90s, but for my style of skating top speed isn’t the priority. So for a center city session like this, the rockered 90s feel perfect to me.

    • @YanVulich
      @YanVulich 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rerollinginline thank you so much! My foot 280, I am 6'1 and not publishing my weight here 😂. I have endless 90 and love them, but not that stable. With 100 my concern is to be too high of the ground and less maneuverable

    • @ryancullen2319
      @ryancullen2319 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is the first time I have actually realised that my 230mm 3x110 are much shorter than my foot length. Crazy really for stability. Base relative to foot length must be really crucial, and surely stability exponentially reduces when you go below foot length. I think I need to get some 4x90!

    • @rerollinginline
      @rerollinginline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YanVulich yeah it comes down to skill and preference at the end of the day. I can say that 4x100 didn’t feel as big as I thought it would after being on 4x90. But everyone is different. If only you could rent frames to try before you buy, lol
