How to quickly re-initialize your BMW sunroof if it has stopped opening, is stuck open, only opens partially or one-touch open/close has stopped working. This will fix most non-mechanical/electrical sunroof operation issues.
My sunroof has literally been stuck for at least a year and a half and I even asked my regular mechanic and said he doesn’t work on sunroofs. Took two seconds to fix tonight! 😂Thank you so much

Dosent work for me the motor of the sunroof is trying to close it or open it but it cant its just making noices like the motor wants to close it but it dosent move

Bro thank you so MUCH! this fixed my issue. My stupid sunroof went crazy in the drive-in car wash... I hit the Close button several time just to make sure it was properly closed but the bitch opened and got stuck 😭

My sunroof screen is still stuck, it will only go back a couple of inches.. After trying this, the sunroof glass itself opened and closed with the reset, but the shade liner stood closed..

what about if the headliner is stuck? mine went in with the sunroof and i can’t pull it back out. mechanic said it would be $500-$800 to fix and i don’t have that kind of money

This didn't work for me (x5 F15) . I fixed mine via a hard reset (remove battery negative head for 20mins +) and then back on. All ECU reset itself and my sun roof started working
