    I think the vagrant’s disappearance from the area after the murder is certainly a suspicious enough issue. The man seen running away from Exwick Lane into the estate during the helicopter search definitely arouses the most suspicion, so if the vagrant had no involvement, maybe he just decided to fuck off from the area after he heard about it so he wouldn’t be suspected. There’s definitely something creepy about the vagrant though, especially when he jumped out in front of the man walking his dog, but I don’t suppose I could condemn him as the murderer just because of his slovenly appearance. Although, did he ever eliminate himself? That I don’t know, it’s all very strange, but the questionable parking of the blue van and the man seen running away after the murder is probably of the most significance.

    • @robdean704
      @robdean704 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A vagrant would by nature avoid the police and any criminal would panic at hearing the helicopter, personally I think blue van man tried to kidnap her and she was clever enough to realise it was fight or flight time. @NoirFan84 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't put too much stock in the guy running away. It was quite some time after she went to walk the dog & someone running up the street could be totally unrelated, eye witnesses can exaggerate things too. The timeline doesn't tell me that is likely to be related to the crime, I'd look more at the vagrant & blue car as far more likely suspects . The guy in the blue car should be taken the most seriously, eye witnesses place him in the vicinity at the time of the murder & if their encounter with Kate is anything to go by then it sounds like she was possibly unnerved by something, probably the guy in the blue car just 100 yards or so up the road she'd just passed.

      We used to go to the amusement arcades aged about ten to twelve years old. We never thought anything of it and neither did my mum. I think that people were rather poorly informed then……. The same as going to swings to play on our bicycles. Not after dark though and we were not allowed to go to the river alone or talk to strangers.

    • @zeddeka
      @zeddeka 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EmmaFentonTunsadly, there's a long record of amusement arcades being very dangerous. Fairgrounds especially so, too. A lot of antisocial behaviour from "bad lads" and sadly paedophiles because they know that's where vulnerable kids congregate, often kids from poor backgrounds who'll do anything for money. Perhaps the most notorious was the "Playland" amusement arcade scandal in London in the 70s. A massive paedophile ring preying on kids. Places like Blackpool still have very serious problems with it now.

    Quick update on the Darren Fawns case: over the years, three people were arrested and questioned with his murder, but it was decided that there was insufficient evidence to proceed with the prosecution. Two were questioned in 1995 and one in 1997. So it seems that the police have a reasonable idea who did it.

    The boy could’ve been killed by the kids he was seen leaving with as I think if there was an adult who did this there would’ve been some kind of indecent behaviour involved. Probably was an accident he was struck in the head maybe they wanted to take his trainers of him then got scared and dropped them. I just don’t see any motive for his murder, strangers just don’t go around hitting kids in the head

      The police said they could not rule out a sexual motive. Of course that doesn't rule out the kids as sadly a lot of sexual abuse is one kid abusing another. It's very sad though that Darren was left at an amusement arcade by himself. They'd had a reputation since long before Darren was born, not just for attracting antisocial behaviour and "bad lads" but also for being a magnet for paedophiles.
