To all those saying that they're changing the source material, the novel is written as a history book using several conflicting accounts as sources, the whole point is that there is no "true" history.
Are people also complaining about changes from the source material like Amazon's Ring Of Power? I'm actually surprised because I'm very hopeful that this show will make it big.
@@solaawodiya7360 most of the people complaining haven’t actually read the book, they don’t know fire and blood is written with an in universe unreliable narrator. they’re just complaining because a black person has been cast as corlys.
There will be adaptations, naturally. Some of the source material is not certain at all. The sources in the book sometimes differ completely from one another, and sometimes not a single source can be certain of what truly happend.
Before you guys get pissed that they're changing the way the story is remember the book is written like a history book but from many unreliable sources that were never really there
Kind of click bait title, they’re REALLY playing with history no more than how it’s done in the books; in that’s there’s an objective true history but only seen from various perspectives
Well obviously, how else can they make the woman be a hero. The history is clear that everyone was horrible. Men in charge and women in charge. They need the women to be the clear protagonist so it has to be chamged
The part of Fire & Blood they are adapting for this show was first written in two novellas published in 2013 and 2014 well before Fire & Blood was published in 2018. No rush in the writting, the story they are adapting is almost a decade old now.
The “history” that is in the book is supposed to be unreliable, since the book is supposed to be written by in universe narrators, who had no idea of what actually happened, so they wrote their subjective account of history. Read the books, please.
They haven’t changed the source material, the creator of the source material is working on this as well. GRRM is an producer and has handpicked the showrunners himself, the show is staying true to the source material. If you didn’t know, fire and blood is written to be an subjective unreliable account of history, so whatever Martin is wrote isn’t accurate to what actually happened in the story.
As said before, Fire & Blood is written with an unreliable narrator aspect, with multiple conflicting accounts of the same event, so they quite literally have to do their own thing lmao

Also listening to Maester Marwyn in the ASOIAF it seems like Maesters tend to be baised, so not everything we read in F&B is true

Totally agree!
But it has to be more interesting than the written history.

That's how history works. It's told by those alive to tell it. Even more so in GoT thrones.
@Mr. Misanthrope exactly.

Didn't he specifically rush out the Fire and Blood books so they'd have something to base the show off of?

Cash grab
@@ibrahimjamal1345 it wasn’t a cash grab, he made the story back in like 2012 with the novels the princess and the queen, and the rogue prince

Yeah…
W just
In other words they dont want to respect the history and want to make their own narratives
Have you read the book? It's written as a historical account, nothing is being told or explained in first person or even first hand knowledge.
