🥺🥰😋what serendipity to have been in that audience.
The late, great Doug Sahm.
What a legendary dude that Doug Sahm. He made his mark in Texas & The Bay and then the world.
History is blessed sweet
I try not to look back too often...but damn those were the days!
Its ok to look back. Dylan's "don't look back" theory is misguided
ya think pretty lucky
Didn't we have us a time!
What should i say? im Born 98' i never ever had the chance to see my beloved bands and groups live. Be glad that you have these memorys! Cheers my friend! :)
Beautiful ✌️ ❤doug sahm the best 🤠😎❤️
I saw JGB @ the Armadillo World Headquarter in 1976, awesome & legendary show
Grateful to you for sharing this 🙏👣💃🤗🤘🏾✨💗
🤗
I'm convinced I was at some great shows in my previous life, born into this body in 1978 & it just doesn't seem like I missed the 60s & 70s, pretty sure I was partying hard on that scene
I saw some great musicians at The Armadillo World Headquarters, , I saw Jerry Garcia several times, Freddie King several times, Alvin Crow and his brother, Joe Ely , Boz Scaggs , and the list goes on and on, The Armadillo World Headquarters had the best nachos in the world and cold Lone Star, it was hot in the summer and cold in the winter but it had the best music in the world
Saw the Grateful Dead 2 years in a row in the early 80's at Manor Downs racetrack on the outskirts of Austin. I think we got the tickets through KLBJ radio station in conjunction with Armadillo Headquarters. Also saw Asleep at the Wheel in Austin. Wow lotsa fun
Yeah man
I was ther @ the Downs :)
That recording has one of my favorite takes on Bobby McGee.
Armadillo world..did it..wow..🔥
Cool
Saw Garcia and side band (Merl Saunders?) at Armadillo in about 1974. Sat on floor in front of stage for 3 hours.
Elton John almost canceled his first performance at The Trubador when he saw Leon Russel in the crowd. Elton was also inspired by Garth Hudson ❤
Like Grahm Parsons, the GD blended country and rock and exposed it to their massive audience. This type of country bears very little resemblance to commercial country music of today, which really sucks. Listen to bluegrass or Hank or Scrugs or Watson for example to name a few.
don't forget the byrds 'sweetheart' album (1968) which created the genre.. very much a result of parsons joining the band and finding a kindred spirit chris hillman ....
Don’t forget The Flying Burrito Brothers!!!!🍺😎✌🏿
Grahm Parsons and the Dead or just Garcia would have been a wonderful combination. I never heard of their paths crossing.
@@kenelkins1841Garcia got into pedal steel guitar after the Dead and the Burritos played 3 nights at the Avalon in SF in April 1969.
The Dead offered the Burritos a tour with them as the opening act. But Gram and Chris didn’t accept the offer
Damn, Shiner and Lonestar were cheaper than Bud and Schlitz!!
Very nice... 💀🌹⚡
Real Austin

would have been a good one
