I am and will always be madly in love with her she was and still is a very beautiful woman and very talented. I listened to her all throughout my teenage years I would LOVE to meet her one day just to say I had the chance to be in the presence of a true legend. At that time, Debbie Gibson was 1 of the few teens who wrote her songs. She had a better voice than Taylor Swift at the same age. She was trying to get a backup singer to sign with Atlantic Records. But, late Ahmet complained that there were too many teens who would flame 🔥 out! That singer was a backup for Brenda Starr then. She is Mariah Carey, as Gibson was, Carey was also born in New York state. Meanwhile, a neighbor of Debbie Gibson was trying to land a TV 📺 show. She did a few years later. She is Ricki Lake. Debbie Gibson still talks to Mariah Carey and Ricki Lake. Today, Debbie Gibson can still sing well 👌 RIP to the mother 👩
She was Taylor Swift before there was a Taylor Swift. She has such an amazing voice and so very talented. And yes, I had a crush on her as did so many boys of the 80’s. I have her out of the blue CD in my player now
She was so cute back then. She's 5 years older than me but I had such a crush on her. It's to bad she was a 2 hit album wonder. I think her downfall was what they were talking about, how grounded and squeaky clean she was. That played a first, but it didn't have staying power. Paula Abdul came out and changed the game. Paula wasn't sleazy, but she had sex appeal. Debbie kept the little sister or sweet neighbor girl image. If Debbie had evolved past the choir girl act she probably would have gone a little further. I think she tried but it was to little to late. I can appreciate her morals and not wanting that type of image, but unfortunately in the end that's what people want, and that's what sells. She's trying the sexy look thing now, buts she's like 53 years old. That's not going to get her a new audience, nobody wants to see an older woman try to act sexy. Except her die hard fans from back in the day. Have you seen some of the so called DebHeads that she has sitting on the side of the stage. A few of the 55 year old men give me the creeper vibe. She still looks very good for her age though, but her voice is not what it used to be. It seems like she struggles to stay in key. Just from scanning through her recent concerts she seems to be more popular in Asia, like Manila, than in America. Her concerts in Asia have more lighting and production than they do in the states.
She's a child prodigy. Writing music from.the age of 5..a classical pianist from about the same age. Composed 209 sings before getting signed at the age of 16. Youngest woman (17) to write record produce abd release #1 Billboard hit
