She was a great guest. She participated through out. I served Madonna in a small coffee shop in Manhattan it was just her makeup artist, her Brother and Bodyguard. When I went to unlock the door, I said "Thank You have a good night" The Brother and the bodyguard ignored me. Modonna stopped and shouted at them and said"Excuse me! He said Thank You have a good night" and she Hugged and Kissed me good night. I will never forget that.

She is super bitchy of course, but she is also quite self-conscious and can be quite deprecating and funny which is a defence mechanism. She is probably one of the most famous women in the world, and also one of the most misunderstood, so she has developed this persona over many years.

You're right. And as a creative person myself, let me add this: as a creative person of her stature, it's her 'duty' to 'critique' a work 'fairly'... and she did just that... no more or less - and honestly. That's the way it 'should' be instead of being a people-pleaser, and politically correct doormat.

@@MsDunn-x6othis was 2012. She never interviews well. Always awkward or rude. And if not rude, defiant or haughty. Always a bit disagreeable. She was dressed appropriately and chicly though here which is a by-product of the Duke & Duchess of Windsor movie. It’s now 2024. Things have changed. She has since begun showing her genitalia on tik tok. She is always dressed in S&M leather or horrible fishnets and demonic perverted attire. I’m not sure how that is ok in any country or by any social standards anywhere. Not even in America. It has nothing to do with feminism. It’s just vulgar and tacky. It was way before she began dressing inappropriately and her addiction to cosmetic surgery kicked in. She was just at the edge of her addiction here. Her face began to change. It was spreading and getting wider and the filler is visible. It’s a shame she didn’t quit while she was ahead. It all went downhill from here on. The more recent images of her cutting birthday cakes in her underwear and cosmetic surgery that is scary is where she’s at now. She also has a 20 year old boyfriend at nearly 70 years of age. It just feels exploitative and desperate rather than feministic or empowered. She’s in a shame-spiral which is getting worse and it’s sad.

It's easy for some people to hate Madonna. They throw in words like bitchy, egomaniac, self-centered, etc. but in the end if you think about it Madonna became a legend just by being herself. There is nothing pretentious about her. After more than three decades in show business, she remains true to herself. I think that is her greatest accomplishment.

I like how the audience is gradually more involved to the point it feels like they're naturally part of the interview. Like they're not just a background, they're human beings who also play an important part in this entire deal. That happens very rarely. How Madonna asks the crowd about the deep desire for romantic love rather than just talk about herself - that's some great social and emotional skill.
She's a very impressive person. Well-spoken, thoughtful, smart, witty, composed. Seems that her 30 or so years on top are well deserved.

I was reading graham norton book, He tells us why Madonna was so popular and why she is a gay icon, which he says younger people no longer understand.
When Madonna was in her prime, she recognised gay people. In this era, the only time you heard the words gay or homosexual was either in reference to HIV or Attacks. What Madonna did was recognised them as people, and celebrated them. This was at time where every gay men was seen as weird or perverts in the media.

Then you thought wrong didn't you. A lot of performers WERE gay and openly gay and people loved them not only for their performance but as people as well. You assumption is also not accurate, since i was boron in 68 and have a gay sister.
Then as now, the majority of people don't go to bed thinking about gay issues and thinking about them when they wake up again. Sorry to burst your bubble if you are gay but for the most part where people put their bits and pieces on a friday night is a complete irrelevance to most peoples lives. Were they to hear some one was gay it would have been met with either indifference to uncomfortable and not agreeing with it - pretty much the same now. Back then there was more OPEN hostility to gay people, ranging from name calling to actual physical attacks; pretty much though, people generally had a good idea who was gay or not and mostly they were left alone.
I always remember when my sister was a teen (early 80's), the biggest drama she had was when she was having gay times sent to her friends house and not ours, naturally the friends parents didn't like this and complained. When we went to visit her in whistable she left a gay times on the coffee table and she was on the cover, I just picked it up and read it. To this day I'm pertty sure she was really miffed that she didn't have THE big dramatic coming out scene, this was due to the fact we really did not give two shits if she was gay or not, if she was a stranger less so.
The only difference now is homosexuality is the absolute must fashion accessory and the political correctness desease means if you don't fawn all over a gay person as soon as the feel the need to proclaim themselves gay the moment yu meet them, then clearly you are homophobic not the case.
What's portrayed on the tv now about then can be very biased indeed. For the most part, it wasn't even spoken about it was very much more a personal under ground thing.

WE was truly fantastic, this made me to look at her artistic side. Am not a fan but got to admire, the way she bounces back with her performance, like a Panther, in given situations.Though, one cant appreciate all her decisions. Madonna grew up fighting all odds, making mistakes, married a Brit, so she can enter into the upper middle class of the Brits. Did manage to grow a thick skin as the tabloids trashed her down. .She survived.she made music, danced, directed, toured, had kids...still going on even after 50. Did she have cosmetic surgeries? Botox ? Ofcourse ! MDNA is 50plus & in show-biz. she has to ! But now she doesnt care what her critics or her fans say a thing about her. Because she simply survived all those lonely evenings, finally thats what matters as she kicks her feet back to relax. Loved LOVE MJ, admiring MDNA.

This is the Best interview I’ve ever seen with Madge. She was Gracious Engaging and Bright. The Only thing I was Surprised at us that she’s not more Supportive of other Female Entertainers, Particularly Lady Gaga. Gaga was probably Inspired by Madonna, as she was a Trailblazer, but she has her Own style… and Gaga can SAAANG !!! It doesn’t take Anything away from Madonna to Support and show Solidarity to other Females….It would be Awesome is she could see that she is an Icon and as women we Need to Encourage and Support each other !!!

Man, intelligent women really take a beating in this world (well actually most...) I remember hating her when she first came out, but that was most likely because I was jealous. Over time I began to admire her fearlessness and work ethic. We mostly just project our own crap onto others, it takes a little more effort to be an objective observer. I had to remind myself to do that through the interview and came out liking her more.

Wow! Now this is Madonna. I love her even more. She's got a great sense of humor. She makes people laugh. What a gift to have. She's intelligent. And kick-ass beautiful and she looks so cute in her sensible attire. From the inside and the outside She's a legend. I would probably have a heart attack if I was to see her. She's royalty.
Big fan of Madonna's from her humble beginnings.
Like, American Bandstand in the 80s. When Dick Clark asked Madonna what she wanted to do, her ambition, she replied, " I want to rule the world! "
She said it with so much confidence, there was no room for doubt. She predicted her own destiny and it happened. I'll never ever forget that. Ever!

Very impressed and learnt a lot about Madonna in this interview.
I think deep down she's actually quite shy and self conscious.
People mistake her as arrogant and rude but i really think she puts up a defence mechanism when she gets uncomfortable.
She has copped a lot of unwarranted flak over the years from interviewers, i imagine she goes into defence mode quickly.
Anyway, she's very intelligent and has a good sense of humour, one of the greatest artists of all time.

There must be something wrong with me because I don't see her as being bitchy. I see her as being a highly intelligent woman, who knows what she wants and how she is going to get there. Sometimes her ego does get in the way but I think she puts up a façade to deal with people and situations. To have been in the music business for over 30 years and to be on top of the game, its a lot of work and you have to be tough. Madonna is one tough lady. That's my opinion.

She is very talented. The pop industry is evidently not about having a "great voice". It's a combination of the show, voice, image, dancing, body expression, psychology, etc. She has done this very well. You want awesome voices, then listen opera. This is not the kind of talent people should use to evaluate a pop-music artist. And anyways, most others pop-music artists don't have any outstanding anything, so I don't know why this is used as an argument to attack her.

I've never been a big fan of Graham Norton but i admire the way he always seems unfazed by his guests, no matter how iconic they are. The Madonna can be a difficult creature to handle. When she sees that an interviewer seems nervous or asks boring questions she will attack, but i think she was a bit disarmed by his demeanour & was more relaxed & engaging because of this. She's such a beautiful woman too, so it's tragic she felt the need to turn herself into a waxwork.
