This so stupidly good, I don’t think there was a single moment in this MAP that felt awkward or out of place, ya’ll knocked it out of the park with this one
There was one! Where it felt too good (and also slightly out of composition). :D
The second "Hunter revives Moon" scene, the one with over-the-top quality. Moon flying felt off because in this scene she doesn't fly, so the whole "realistic to in-game logic" feel that is kept throughout everything before it suddenly breaks. That felt awkward.
Nothing bad about high quality, that first line was a joke, in case you didn't get it.
Just that sudden "that didn't happen" feeling that makes it awkward and slightly out of place.
@@farresalt4381she does fly. For about a second, and not very high, but before her puppet awakens her structure attempts to power up and lifts her briefly before she falls down again.

It's the top 1 moment in this MAP in terms of the use of creative freedom, but the scene in the game almost looks the same.
I guess my feeling of it being somewhat wrong actually stems from it looking _too much_ like in the game. As in, it seems like Moon is slapped 2.5d flat against the wall. She looks too small from that perspective, especially considering how FoV is through the roof, so the room itself feels much bigger. But yes, at closer look - it's still mostly realistic. Aside from her arm, which looks too flimsy. Cannot justify that bit.
Unrelated, but as I said on another comment:
I feel like the song also influences a lot, especially the mood of the animation. I noticed there are a few parts with the wind blowing through, and I kinda feel that in the music too. The lyrics seem to be about loss in a manner to me, and no matter how far you go, it will always stick with you and blow like the wind. It’s still there, and sometimes it can be a melody, or a painful reminder. Listening to this song makes me want everything to be emotional, and I want to give it my all. I don’t know if the animators felt it too.
Even if I don’t have the skill to do anything, it makes me want to achieve something.

@@farresalt4381 it probably looks out of place because of that and the fact people associate moon with a robot. although she is the same-ish (ish added because of the limbs) in the game, it looks uncanny because artists give moon segmented body parts and more robotic features, and we tend to accept it because it’s familiar to our world even if she isn’t like that :/. Same with people giving riv an eel tail sometimes because they associate him with a salamander.
Could be wrong tho, im not a professional at these things

I think the pixel graphics and difficulty throw people off. The main thing it's praised for is realism, despite the pixel graphics, which might confuse people. And it's also as hard as dark souls III.

This has got to be one of the best rainworld maps I’ve seen, all the parts flow together so well, but by far the most impressive part is that all the participants manage to draw and animate echos perfectly
I love 1:56. I'm so used to Rivulet being portrayed as this cute, braindead, hyperactive little thing, but when you think about it, they're quite a majestic creature, especially considering the events of their campaign itself. I might be overreacting, but I feel like this scene does this side of their character some justice.
I absoultely love the animation of it going thru the pipe with rarefraction cell at 2:12 I just find it so incredibly satisfying

Fun fact: when you complete saint's campaign, they become echo, and there are gold things around them. These things are called "chains" in game files, because echoes are forever trapped in this world. Just thought that it's cool :)
I think at the end, the Saint is'nt and echoe at all, like a half echoe/half living creature, due it's power. There are a whole teory about that in youtube.

I think it's less that Saint became an echo and more that it is revealed to you its always been one. Try resetting the campaign and the menu art won't change.

I’m absolutely blown away by this. The part that impressed me the most was actually the void flash effect at 3:53. It was spot-on, exactly like the game, and that can’t have been easy to do.
Seeing Arti's pups in Rubicon was a nice easter egg to when the devs said "all slugpups go to hell" but also kinda sad 😭😭. all jokes aside tho this is probably the highest quality MAP I have ever seen for Rain World, and paired with a banger song as well! All the different animation styles flowed together so well and nothing felt out of place. 10/10, I only discovered it a couple hours ago and already rewatched it like 7 times!

This is the best map I've seen on Rain World. no animations made on the knee, no poor drawing, no unnecessary moments. Great respect to the authors of this map

The more I learn about and play Rain World the better this map gets; it genuinely has EVERYTHING. I cannot get over it omg.
i REALLY love the detail at 3:10 where saint’s three spots glow as their eyes open to ascend Moon, the amount of times i have rewatched and thought about this map is unreal
This Rain World map is without a doubt the best of all, all the characters and settings are illustrated to perfection so much so that even Videocult has posted the map. Thank you animators for being part of this beautiful and great community.
I love the Chinese(?) rainworld community’s art styles definitely want to try and mimic said style because I love it

Saint is often portrayed as this goofy lil floofy boi with a gun, but here shows how menacing saint truly is. Saint's a godlike entity, and this really emphasized that. Amazing!
This had me silently Screaming, I was actually shaking a little bit
Every single section was gorgeous. Even the more “basic” styles were so stylized and aesthetically appealing, every single clip could stand up with the others as a masterpiece. And sadly, I don’t feel that way about most MAPs I watch. But this one was so perfectly paired together that the changes in style didn’t feel jarring. Every artist brought beauty to this project. It stole my breath away. I cannot praise this video enough. I’m gonna watch it again now :)
This MAP is so underrated; it’s one of the best I have ever seen. Everyone did an amazing job evoking so much emotion out of their animations through Rainworld’s story. You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for your hard work!
Something I’d like to mention.
I just remembered the definition of a “poltergeist.” it’s basically a ghost, but it can interact with physical objects. If we say that echoes are “ghosts” then Saint would BE a poltergeist.
Edit: I would pay actual money to have the sleep saint and echo at the end in a hour loop

This is by far the most beautiful rainworld MAP that I’ve seen. Every artist did so well and this gave me so much motivation to animate. I also love this song too, and the parts in order of the rainworld timeline just made everything feel so complete.
THIS IS SO FLIPPIN GOOD, rain world's story is so heart warming and breaking at the same time, it put me in tears watching, you HAVE to know and understand the game and lore to really feel the emotion in this, and i am so glad i can feel what the artists wanted to portray, this was unbelievably well animated for ONLY 7.5K LIKES IN 2 MONTHS? unfair, this deserves so much love and attention, ANIMATION IS HARD! this is QUALITY! the story is soo good Dx words cannot describe how i felt about this, but its ASTOUNDING! i hope to see more of rainworld community rise

Saint is pacifist fluffy slugcat who travel in the changed world surrounding with snow to find the answer of ascend or the way to end itself from endless loop

Rivulet is cheerful, energetic slugcat who go through dangerous journeys with pure heart. Even after mission complete it still come visit moon from time to time until the end

Wow, this MAP is peak quality through and through, and it all fits together so well!
Now for little things I noticed, as it's always great for them to get appreciated!
*Spoilers for a lot of things in Downpour,* of course, it is mostly just about what is shown in the animation, but you never know...
In the first part for Spearmaster, they are holding both the message pearl and SRS's overseer's eye, really showing just how much Spearmaster cares for SRS.
After Artificer loses her pups, it shows Artificer going after a scav, with an environment similar to the nightmares she has in game.
There is a quick flash of NSH in the background at 1:13.
Before the dropwig gets harpooned by the KV, you can see a faint laser aiming ahead of the dropwig, which it then leaps into.
The scene for when Survivor falls down is very similar to one of the images you see when complete Gourmand's food quest.
Seems in this timeline, the other two pups (the blue and black) also followed Survivor and Monk, or they got separated from the rest of the colony somehow. Which Survivor must have found on their journey back to OE as Monk sees them with Survivor when they reunite with Survivor.
Not a small detail, but I really loved how "out of time" was synced with Rivulet running to Pebbles to escape the impending Downpour.
When Rivulet escapes into the tunnel with the rarefraction cell, you can see a glimpse of a DLL (or blue BLL, since those do exist and it seems quite small) feeling around the tunnel before it moves on to another scene.
Moon is crying after Saint brings her the music pearl that Pebbles listens to.
Saint is ascending the guardians in Rubicon, as seen with the chains breaking at 3:20.
"All slugpups go to Hell," in which Artificer's slugpups (at least same colors) are shown to be in Rubicon.
When Pebbles forcefully removes Spearmaster's message pearl, a flash of Moon suffering from lack of water appears behind him, which might be indicating that the guilt he feels influenced his irrational anger.
Ruffles is perhaps saying their final goodbyes to Moon at 3:46.
I'm sure there are other little things I missed, but I tried!
Although I may have glossed over just how good the MAP is, it really cannot be said enough just how good it is! I just lack the ability to fully express that...

I think at 3:46 it's just a part of Bitter Aerie, the moment the Rivulet enters it after installing Rarefaction cell which was shown a frame before
Idk if you noticed or not but
1. When spearmaster is running from the orange lizard the pearl and overseer eye he’s carrying is bundled up to look like a heart. The lyrics also states “broken mirrors and shattered hearts” iirc
2. A lizard pops up when the Saint leads the pups through rubicon
3. Theres something falling at the left side of the first rivulet part, and it dissapears when he wakes up.
4. Karma 4 mural when gourmand shows the slugpups the drawings
Also at 3:52 you can see one of moon's overseers showing a memory of the hunter
This is absolutely the best rainworld map I've ever seen, up there with A Turtle's Heart back in the early days of the fandom as one of my all time favorites. Everyone did an absolutely phenomenal job, I love everything about this. The character animation and capturing the personalities of the slugcats, the backgrounds and the detail in them making it feel like the living breathing world the game protrays, the participants did a fantastic job with everything. Absolutely breathtaking project

i've said it before and ill say it again. rain world community makes some of the most jaw dropping animations every 4 seconds i swear to god. its like fucking clockwork.
This is GORGEOUS. the scenery is the main part of it, It helps with the emotion of the MAP part. Everyone in this did so good. This has to be one of the best rain world MAPS i’ve seen so far.
