Oh wow i just noticed something that makes this even better - at 4:03 the pearl that pebbles throws that turns into rot is the chimney gold pearl - the one that spearmaster brings before their campaign, that contain SRS's instructions for how 5P can kill himself through the rot
@@Yo_Fish No, the plan was to engineer the rot to rapidly replace all the organic matter in his superstructure with the exact same kinds of organic matter, but without the self-destruction taboo that was hard-coded into every single one of his cells. /Then/ he was going to continue his research but without being prevented from experimenting on himself in possibly dangerous experiments that Iterators usually wouldn't be able to even consider because they might kill them.

1:43 the change in style from part 10 to part 11 actually works incredibly for the story of artificer Going from the revengeful sharp art style to the softer memory

The part at 2:11 is definitely one of my favorites! I just love how Hunter's super edgy, it feels so appropriate for their situation. After finding LttM and fulfilling their purpose I always imagined Hunter happy, but Hunter being jaded and angry makes way more sense: they were sent on a suicide mission by a creator that gave them cancer, they probably died a couple dozen times just getting to LttM, and there's nothing for them afterwards besides being consumed by the rot. ALSO the art is JUST SO PRETTY!! And the animation is smooth, and-- Honestly, this whole MAP is just a blessing
... I always wondered why Hunter had the rot (tm). Like, was it a biproduct of being a rush job? A biproduct of failing machinery? Deliberate, to put the poor thing on a time limit - never having a chance to truly live? Still one of the saddest slugcats, imo.

The Pilocene MAP started shortly after I joined the RW community, and I remember seeing bits and pieces of it every now and then not really knowing what it was. It’s awesome to finally see it all put together like this!
Since that's the case! I recommend looking up the Dreams and Turtle heart RW Maps! Turtle heart was the first RW MAP to exist, and dreams is the second.
I think this is actually the first map I have ever seen where all of the art styles are appealing to me, this is amazing and the animations are so smooth! (and this means a lot more than you think, I watch a lot of MAPs) Edit: I just realized northflower is here, this MAP got me back into watching animator content again, so kind of a welcome back :)

@@inkycorvid3248 yea i was going through the game timeline-wise after beating the game ascending + other stuff and when i played spearmaster i went the normal way (i've got mods and i have the precipice leap mod) and i went to precipice after speaking to five pebble to go to moon and leap off the precipice but i saw there was stuff to it once i figured that out, i beat spearmaster and then played artificer and was like (yeah this place has the big bridge thing ima go thru there and talk to moon) then i went to precipice and was like (alright wheres that bridge oh shit) then i went through as gourmand (he doesnt have anything to do with moon so i didnt talk to her), beat gourmand and then i went through as hunter and was like (oh wait shit wherees that bridge) and saw the emptiness of precipice and then was like (oh so thats what happened to that thing) fast forward to saint, i went as i usually would, up the wall (what wall?) and i noticed the landscape changed a bit obviously i always skip shaded citadel because i have intense arachnophobia and i hate the dark so i tried to go up tje wall but was confsued why things seemed more dilapidated than usual and then went up to where i would usually go thru chimney canopy to five pebble and then (what) i was so confused where five pebble gate was i was like (wheres five pebbles tf??) then i realized there were more changes to saint than just snow iterators give off heat, right? thats why bitter aerie was cold for moon after she collapsed garbage wastes didnt freeze over (because it was moving water + five pebble heat) but once five pebble collapsed, everything got so cold it snowed and everything had to adapt (green lizards are gone, less batflies and strawberry lizards?? zamn...)

Yknow i think this video is the perfect introduction to the Rain World MAP community! Saying that as someone watching a RW MAP for the first time haha. The song is PERFECT for the game, and everyone did so well! The movement & transitions in each shot are wonderful, and there were several parts i just had to keep going back to rewatch.

The rot wasn’t the plan for pebbles to kill himself with the rot came from a mistake

@@inkycorvid3248 yea i was going through the game timeline-wise after beating the game ascending + other stuff and when i played spearmaster i went the normal way (i've got mods and i have the precipice leap mod) and i went to precipice after speaking to five pebble to go to moon and leap off the precipice but i saw there was stuff to it
once i figured that out, i beat spearmaster and then played artificer and was like (yeah this place has the big bridge thing ima go thru there and talk to moon) then i went to precipice and was like (alright wheres that bridge oh shit)
then i went through as gourmand (he doesnt have anything to do with moon so i didnt talk to her), beat gourmand and then i went through as hunter and was like (oh wait shit wherees that bridge) and saw the emptiness of precipice and then was like (oh so thats what happened to that thing)
fast forward to saint, i went as i usually would, up the wall (what wall?) and i noticed the landscape changed a bit obviously i always skip shaded citadel because i have intense arachnophobia and i hate the dark so i tried to go up tje wall but was confsued why things seemed more dilapidated than usual and then went up to where i would usually go thru chimney canopy to five pebble and then

i was so confused where five pebble gate was
i was like (wheres five pebbles tf??) then i realized there were more changes to saint than just snow
iterators give off heat, right?
thats why bitter aerie was cold for moon after she collapsed
garbage wastes didnt freeze over (because it was moving water + five pebble heat) but once five pebble collapsed, everything got so cold it snowed and everything had to adapt (green lizards are gone, less batflies and strawberry lizards?? zamn...)
I really loved all of it, very accurate lore and timeline

Yknow i think this video is the perfect introduction to the Rain World MAP community! Saying that as someone watching a RW MAP for the first time haha. The song is PERFECT for the game, and everyone did so well! The movement & transitions in each shot are wonderful, and there were several parts i just had to keep going back to rewatch.
