Illegal? Is 9 felonies and 1 arrest warrant not enough to keep his a$$ in prison or send him back?! Driving drunk, no respect for anyone and lived to tell about it. Waste of life.
Few years ago in my area, as usual, Drunk's mother blamed the cops for her son's 10th DUI. People raised with drinking in the family WILL co-sign Till THEY get help FOR THEMSELVES. Alcoholism affects the WHOLE Family. Shed a tear in court, someone 'affected' cuts them loose. 🙄🙄🙄
The driver is lucky not to have had a passenger or he might (possibly) be facing negligent homicide charges. The (would be) passenger probably would not have survived. Far too many cases like this, but the courts continue to give out slaps on the wrist. 😬
Being retired out of Phoenix Fire after 29 years, this brought tears. I don't believe I know the guys but it dosen't make any difference. They are fellow firefighters. Once again suspected DUI.
Jeez so a drunk crashes into them, and they have to get the drunk out of his car and try to save him while they are hurt themselves. The penalties are way too small for this. What is this giving a citation crap for first offense, should be mandatory jail time even for 1st offense. People are getting hurt and killed but the drunks go home with a ticket?
Yep. It's like that here in Wisconsin. First offense isn't a felony unless someone's injured or killed. There are so many drunks here driving around on suspended licenses, and on their 4th, 5th, 8th, etc DUI. I try not to be on the road when the bars let out. Look up "Tavern League" to see why DUI rules here are as lax as they are.
My dad was a fire fighter the whole time that I was growing up and it was bad enough that he had to risk his life to save other's lives. He too had to deal with drunk drivers. Me too. I was hit by a hit and run drunk driver (later caught) in 2012 and I have permanent and painful chronic pain in my left foot that was crushed in the crash. I also had to have my shoulder totally replaced. We don't have ubers, taxi's or lyfts here in my small Northern California town, but that's still no excuse to take everyone's life in your hands when you choose to drive drunk. The drunk who hit me was 24 years old and it was his 4th DUI. He was fleeing from a bar (that had called the cops) because he had hit two cars in their parking lot as he was leaving the bar. CHP actually passed him up on their way to that bar. The cops saw him fly by in his huge Dodge Ram truck so they spun around and gave chase. I had just turned off of my mountain road that has a blind turn. The drunk driver came flying around the turn and slammed into me. It disabled his truck so he ran and hid down by the river here. He was caught 3 hours later. Hitchhiking while STILL drunk. This happened at 5:05 pm July 30th 2012. On a Sunny Monday day. You never think that your'e going to be hit by a drunk driver in broad daylight on a sunny Summer day. God Bless these firefighters. I hope that the one's injured are ok.
Sorry. Wonder why people get so stupid when they drink! Seems like people wouldn’t do anything that would even get them the Stupid adjective attached to their names! Good grief!
I am so sorry to hear that. My husband almost lost his whole family to a drunk driver. His mother was 90 percent burned, his father is paralyzed from waist down, and his sister has a messed up back and leg. The drunk died. But I don't think he paid for it the right way. He is at rest and out of pain, but our family isn't.
This brought back a flood of memories where firemen from our neighboring city were hit head-on by a drunk driver, killing both of the firemen in that rig. It was in such an area that they weren't able to see him until it was too late, but he was traveling in their lane of traffic, going over 70mph according to witnesses and killing them both shortly after EMS arrived. Both incredible men with families who are just as incredible as they were.
There seriously needs to be much harsher laws and sentences for drunk and high drivers. Taking their license away isn’t enough as they still get drunk and drive. I’ve known a few individuals who have done this and it’s both frustrating and dangerous. The number of drunk drivers that get a slap on the hand, get short or no sentences, and continue to drive drunk is ridiculous and they see nothing wrong nor do they change. This country is sh*t!!!

Hell no hes not🤦♂️
Worked EMS for 20 years, had several friends killed.
I think “EVERYONE” convicted of DUI/DWI should loose their license for life and have to register every 90 days to track them!!!
Prayers to our first responders.
The drunk driver didn't look injured at all. Perhaps he suffered an inconvenient slip-and-fall at the hospital.
The judicial system in the US needs serious overhaul…
These same firefighters came to my aid one night at 83rd and Indian School! I hope their OK!
Prayers First Responders, everyone involved, God Bless
Me no good idea. Drink, drive, big trouble. Accidents happen, but never okay. Always find better way home, no drink and drive.
PRAYERS FROM MICHIGAN ! 🇺🇲
Hope the firefighters are ok from a retired uk volunteer fire fighter 🫡
Firefighters , Police, Military OUR BRAVE , RESPECT 💜🇺🇲❤️🙏🙏🙏
Closed captioning would be helpful in understanding what's being said.
It is always a sad day when the rescurers have to be rescued.
You see the drunk guy trying to explain himself to one of the firefighters he almost killed? Guaranteed no insurance, no license. So this firehouse is screwed when it comes to getting everyone properly cared for and the truck repaired quickly.
Should be mandatory 1 month in prison driving w/o insurance. These people literally screw over those they hit and injure.
God bless all first responders!!
Maybe shouldn't have had those last 4 Tecates, Ese.
Ohje, das sieht ja wirklich heftig aus. Gute Besserung an die verletzten Einsatzkräfte und an den SUV Fahrer. Grüße aus Stuttgart (DE)
Praying for all of our first responders. This is just ridiculous that this person not only hurts himself but others as well just because he chose to drive drunk.
This is disgusting!! Praying for the fire fighters to made a full recovery. God bless you all🙏🙏
There's no credible evidence to show or support a God in existence anywhere in reality.
I hope everyone is ok 🙏 for all
The description doesn't state if this rig was headed to a call... the damage to the other vehicle involved is severe... the driver is effin lucky to be alive!!! Idiot. He deserves those bracelets!!!
Hopefully all of the first responders are feeling better and are back on the job soon, if not already!!! Stay safe out there!!!
"Me no from here" -Oh, then you're free to go!
DUI penalty in the US is but a slap on the wrist, despite vehicular manslaughter on the daily basis. SMH
but if it WAS vehicular manslaughter it would NOT be a slap on the wrist ...
Hope you are all doing well heros all the way
What an expensive mess.
I pray all of them are ok. Drunk driving is disgusting. But was also thinking, dang, those heavy lifting fire trucks are so so expensive.
Hope the members have a speedy recovery. Is it a standard procedure in Phoenix that every patient gets attached to a monitor?
Prayers for all. That was a hard hit to buckle the cab !!!
😮 OMG I hope that they are doing well after that
I am glad that the Firefighters are ok.😇🙏
Close the border. Prayers to all firefighters and police
As a volunteer firefighter this jus makes me grit my teeth.. prayers for a speedy recovery brothers🙏🏽
