I have lived all throughout Italy several times on and off throughout the years. I am an American citizen. I can tell you that when I am there I do not eat a lot of processed foods. They are open markets With lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. It is true that they eat meats, fish and poultry but I believe these animals are raised better than we do it in the USA. Also they do not use round up on their farmland or crabs. Where round up which is a poison and cancer-causing agent is used here in the United States as the FDA allows it! I do not see a lot of people there with cancer but I do here in the USA. Older people I’ve seen taking walks all day getting fresh air and sunshine and staying healthy. Things are a lot different there!

I’m from Singapore and our eating stems from hawker culture which is horrible for the health. Part of the tropics, everything is cooked with refined palm and coconut oil. White rice and rice noodles are basically eaten in every meal. Generally, the whole day is sedentary, sitting in office chairs during work hours, and on the couch at home. The only thing that helps us live longer is the fact that our hospitals are good. Most of us start developing lifestyle diseases in our forties but we get good treatments for the next 40-50 years to help us “live longer”. Actual Healthy food is also pretty expensive here, it’s only those foods with artificial “health promoting” synthetic compounds that receive some form of subsidy.

This is a sad reality of the problem here in the US as well. The majority of our food is nearly toxic it’s so processed. If you want high quality healthy food you have to search for it then pay higher prices for it. It can be found but it take’s special effort. America has been the most prosperous nation on earth yet we have one of the worst diet and lifestyle patterns when it comes to health. There are few politicians in Washington that really do what’s right for the people. Most, red or blue, are happy to take money from Monsanto, big Pharmaceutical companies and the food industry and look the other way.

On a podcast some days ago, I listened to Dr. Chaffee (who thinks the vegetarian nature of the Blue Zones is mostly a myth) interviewing Professor Bill Schindler on Sep 21, 2023. Dr. Schindler had recently traveled to Sardinia to the epicenter of the first identified Blue Zone, and lived with the Sardinians for some months. He witnessed many amazingly old people there. Schindler said that where the myth came from that the Sardinians eat only a vegetarian diet, arose from a semantic mistake. The first researches asked the Sardinians when they ate meat, and they said they ate meat (pork) only on the weekend. That's when the whole village would roast a pig on a spit, and eat every part of the pig, not only the muscles, but the heart, the liver, the kidneys, and so on. However, the villagers meant that they only had this big, meat-centered, communal FEAST once on the weekends. The individual families also ate pork every day during the week, too! He said the Sardinians are essentially meat eaters, but also eat some legumes, especially tomatoes. Every family has at least one pig, and the place is overrun with pigs. The villagers are constantly walking very long distances back and forth across the hills every day, too.

I’m also a Singaporean and my grandmother passed away around 86 years of age. Every family has a different diet and lifestyle they subscribed to and Singapore’s mean life expectancy is 83 for both men and women and that means your family must have done something not as great as the average Singaporean to die so early. For example, my grandmother was a very active lady back when she was young and walked a lot to sell clothes despite a fatty diet which fuels her lifestyle. If you know why your family’s lifestyle is bad, just change it and you will start to see your family having longevity above national average instead of questioning why Singaporeans are not healthy etc. My mum is over 65 and she always goes for health check up and always aces her check up without anything remotely unhealthy. It’s all about personal responsibility instead of just pointing that all Singaporeans are unhealthy. We are not the same! 😅

What everyone making/watching these blue zone videos appears to over look is the amount natural labour, day to day workout In just living their lives many of these centenarians have done well into their late 90s. It is not just the diet! It is walking up & downhill as seen in the blue zone mountainous region of sardinia & ikaria, gardening even at 100 years as seen in Okinawa, doing volunteer work & playing sports with group of friend even past 85 years as in Loma Linda!
To me this physical activity well into old age is a fundamental key to their longevity. I say this as diets differ although a common factor is all blue zones is they all do eat a large variety of vegetables & local herbs or seaweed etc & bearing in mind those who are past 90 years or centenarians now would likely have eaten a more plant based diet with meat only in very small portions & not often in their youth not because they were vegetarians but because times were more austere for them most of these regions were not very affluent when the current centenarians were young except of course in Loma Linda where they were mostly vegetarians. My view is physical activity probably has a lot more to do with their longevity than credited for.
My grandmother lived to 109 years, was physically & mentally active, independent & lived on her own tiny cottage right next door to our house. Her diet as I recall was very simply, mostly vegetarian with some fish. She didn’t like the taste of chicken or beef as she knew really had them growing up. But more than diet her secret to longevity was physical activity! Every single day she lived her life very active, more active than most 40 year olds today! Even on the day of her passing she got up at 6am, went to church for daily mass( she was catholic), came home cooked her breakfast, then did some gardening, picked fruits & walked 1 mile to take a basket of fruits to her best friend & after a bit of chat & black coffee, walked a mile back home. Then made lunch for her & me as I usually checked up on her in the afternoon, after lunch took a half an hour nap. Then more gardening. That day the local church had a feast ceremony in the evening , everyone from the village went including my grandmother. She walked around tables talking, laughing, enjoying with everyone. She met met the Cardinal & being a pious catholic felt very blessed for it! She was very happy & in high spirits that evening .
That night one week before her 109th birthday, she died peacefully in her sleep in 1997!

ABSOLUTELY you will feel better if you eat meat !! Living LONGER does NOT equate with living MORE HEALTHY. That's a fact. It's been proven. Being a nutrition expert myself, I know what it's like to have patients come in with so many health problems in old age. Once they obey the advice to eat more meat (and a few other dietary recommendations - one of those being STAY AWAY FROM PROCESSED FOODS ) they live HEALTHIER in their old age without all the health problems they had before. Meat is your friend, as well as fish. You just can't IMAGINE how nutritious it is until you look it up. I advise you to do that and stop kow-towing to the food industry and globalists and their attempt to control you. Also, take note of the post of @maurizio5098. Sardinians eat a lot of meat. I can testify to that, having gone there and studied them myself. There's nothing better than FIRST HAND information.

Long story short, I stopped eating high carbs and meat, once in a while plain chicken wings, and now my cholesterol is at normal levels, no more high BP and no more gout or stiff joints. To each his own I suppose I dont miss meat after so many years of consuming it. I also dont miss the pills and the stiff joints.

Some people cannot bring themselves to eat flesh. The only safe food is clean raw uncooked fruit and veg, but not many people willing to eat this way. Vegetarian foods are highly processed to make them more palatable defeating the object. Farm animals meat is full of antibiotics, steroids etc and parasites. Cows milk also has pus levels from infected udders, it's all so gross 😮 the suffering inflicted on livestock is horrific. Incorrect. Using the "logic" of the idiot presenters in this video, high taxes on the use of automobiles, as they do in Singapore, will extend life. And the "blue zone" cretins ignore the fact that there are many people that live to be over 100 eating, for example, bacon every single day. And there are millions of vegetarians who exercise daily that die before age 80.

Gas is not a problem as your body gets used to the xtra fiber. May take a couple months and you're all set.
