Yes adaptive is on, I also don't charge my phones to 100 unless I'm doing tests like this to conserve battery health. Zenfone is about 4 months older than Pixel, I assume both are still at similar health. Used Zenfone fulltime for 5 months and Pixel fulltime 3 months. If you sit and use Pixel for 5 hours straight, it'll last. It sucks with standby. This test was done over 3 days and pixel lasted 1.5 days which is solid. In saying that, I'll keep pixel over Zenfone any day. WAY more fun to use.

@@GK-qc5ry it was introduced in Android 11 I believe and it's not pixel exclusive. Samsung has it too, and probably all androids. The iPhone transfer is much better when you have new device near your old one (even an iPad) it automatically show on both devices whether you want to transfer or not, and it wireless but still insane fast as transfer from iPhone to Android using cable.
One of the reason about I switch from Android to IOS (besides wanting to try new things) is iddle battery life. No matter what phone I use, when I'm not using (doesn't matter wifi or data) android simply consumes more battery. Either you manually interrupt process or install custom rom. IOS after a couple of weeks it learns when you are working and it maintains good battery. MAYBE it's just me but older android version didn't have this problem.
I had Xperia Z1 compact, Xperia Z5, Pixel 1-3-4a. Xiaomi Mi 9 T. Samsung A54. Then I tried S9 plus and Note 10+ I would say early years of Xperia were great for non-heavy users, you could have those phones for 2 days and they were ok. Of course, if you test them, those phones had average SOT, but it was nice to have some juice when you didn’t use them. Pixel 1 was great on Android 7; I used that phone for work (phone calls) and it held up really great. With Android 10 it simply started depleting battery for no reason. Same thing happened with 3 and 4a with newer updates. Xiaomi 9T had a bigger battery but I saw how that phone consumed it for no reason. A54 is a beast phone for heavy user, videos, music, Bluetooth no problems, nice SOT (manage to pull 8 hours), but somedays the phone randomly consumed battery doing nothing, other days it was great. S9 and Note 10+ have great idle battery consumption if you use battery saving mode. I think is planned obsolescence with battery and newer SO. On IOS my first iPhone was 13 mini, with a smaller battery it lasted me over a day, perfect for some phone calls and checking email. I think it is a great phone for non-heavy user and for working. Still, it wasn’t great with data on or watching TH-cam (average SOT was 4 hours). After 16 months and 89% I switched to my current Iphone 15 (non pro). At 100% battery, I have some crazy days at work and I almost didn’t use it, at home just a little bit of Instagram and some TH-cam (less than 1 hour, wifi only) and went to sleep. This phone lasts me 2 days with one single charge (second day I had 8%). With heavy use I have 6 hours SOT (can push it to 7). Of course, you have the big boys (plus or pro max - S24 Ultra) with better SOT but it is worth mentioning how a phone can last that much just staying on
@@abeld94 i agree. Apple worked on this in terms of hardware and software but when Qualcomm is catching up now especially when exynos and tensor started competing.

Apparently the Zenphone has a 2 year OS support only. Therefore, I picked up the Pixel 8 over the Zenphone because the camera is better and the OS updates are for a lot longer. Battery life on the Pixel for me is pretty much a full day, 6am to 10pm ending with 15% with above average usage.
The zenfone should have slimmer bezzles and at least 5 years of software updates, and it would be great, but no, they discontinued the small form factor
Well i still love my zenfone 10 despite the barebone software it has. Even my older Xiaomi phone had much more feature than this phone, but still i love it. The battery is that good, and had most of flagship feature. But My future phone will be samsung or Xiaomi again though since i dont like stock android that much
The issue with the pixel phone is that when you move around it always looking to WIFI, It might run longer if you deactivate it. I personally never use WIFI and my pixel old 5H30 screen time. I'm often on the gram and play Brawlstar on a daily basis (Its 11PM am currently at 3H27 of screen time, 65% battery left: screen time 49% TH-cam display always on, as I'm broke, with wireless buds 25% Snapchat today and I just realized WIFI is on and I'm connected through my box) I got the pixel 8 since 4 months now.
I got the Xperia 5 iv and got around 8 hour screen on time during whole day use on 60 hz. Xperia 5 v also seems to have even better battery life. Maybe better than the Zenfone 10 IMO .
Had the ZF10 a Telephoto lense or be 200€ cheaper it would have been my phone for sure. But it's a bit of a pricey niche phone, excellent in many ways but pricey.
@@thesamuelnam Certainly sir! I would like a compact phone with a great battery, tired of my pixel 6 dying 3 times a day. What is interesting is that the Zenfone 11 is rumoured to have an ultra variant, and if it's bigger I wouldn't be going with it. In addition the Xperia 5 V is small too (6.1inch), with a great battery like the Zenfone (as found in GSMArena's battery test, MrWhosTheBoss battery of the year, and other sources). Potentially, a great option for learning manual photography similar to a DSLR camera. Both are small and battery beasts, which is my need. I run my options down to these 2 and I'll see which of them I want to buy in the new release, this year! :D Edit: Plus I need the headphone jack for my IEMs!!! :)

What phone did you have before the iphone
I had
Xperia Z1 compact, Xperia Z5, Pixel 1-3-4a. Xiaomi Mi 9 T. Samsung A54. Then I tried S9 plus and Note 10+
I would say early years of Xperia were great for non-heavy users, you could have those phones for 2 days and they were ok.
Amazing video as always Nam, your videos are always a breath of fresh air. The ZenFone 9 still rocks too
I just wanna say that i didn't like what you did at 0:33 , you should keep such moments off the internet, and protect your wife's privacy.
I hope you don't take this the wrong way.
What do you think of the s24 series tho?
I personally don't care much about it, i think it'll just be a waste of money.
But i hope to hear your take on it.
hahaha thanks for the concern buddy.
You'll hear my thoughts on S24 soon. It'll drop some time in March.
@@thesamuelnam I'll anticipate it, thank you
Pixels never fail to disappoint.
Only 8 and 8 pro. Before that - awful battery in all 6-7 pixels
That's the tensor chip for ya😂
Apparently the Zenphone has a 2 year OS support only.
Therefore, I picked up the Pixel 8 over the Zenphone because the camera is better and the OS updates are for a lot longer.
Battery life on the Pixel for me is pretty much a full day, 6am to 10pm ending with 15% with above average usage.
It's Zenfone, not "zenphone"
@@mrgrumpyjinx 🤣
Yeah the pixel doesn't die on me during a normal day of use so I'm good. I don't need 3 days of battery life for a phone lol.
Why is TH-cam suddenly having two ads that you have to skip? TH-cam yet again choosing to further punish money-conscious people..
So zenfone is equivalent to 10k mah compare to p8
Thanks for the upload. 💜 Is there any particular reason why you chose the Pixel 8 over the 8 Pro version?
Size. I prefer smaller phones. I use iphone mini as a daily.
is there a chance to compare pixel 9 and zenfone 10😛😛
I like your vlog style, brother. Plus, cute fat babies. Subscribed.
I do agree pixel phones have much more useful features than Zenfone/Sony
The zenfone should have slimmer bezzles and at least 5 years of software updates, and it would be great, but no, they discontinued the small form factor
How is your IPhone 13mini holding up?. I've been looking at purchasing a used one. Have been using Galaxy S10e for a while.
It is awesome. Can't go to another iphone.
Well i still love my zenfone 10 despite the barebone software it has. Even my older Xiaomi phone had much more feature than this phone, but still i love it. The battery is that good, and had most of flagship feature. But My future phone will be samsung or Xiaomi again though since i dont like stock android that much
I'm using s24 ultra and it almost feels the same as Zenfone battery. But Samsung software is epic.
I have the Zenfone 10 and there are 3 MAJOR drawbacks: the screen brightness, the buttons placement and the fingerprint scanner.
O co dokładnie chodzi z tymi problemami?
@@vladimirkov318The screen is hard to read on a sunny day.
The buttons are way to high up and there is no on screen fingerreader
@@paulista9862 dzięki, czyli można kupować
The issue with the pixel phone is that when you move around it always looking to WIFI, It might run longer if you deactivate it. I personally never use WIFI and my pixel old 5H30 screen time. I'm often on the gram and play Brawlstar on a daily basis (Its 11PM am currently at 3H27 of screen time, 65% battery left: screen time 49% TH-cam display always on, as I'm broke, with wireless buds 25% Snapchat today and I just realized WIFI is on and I'm connected through my box) I got the pixel 8 since 4 months now.
“You’re gonna forget how to charge stuff” 😂
I hope they release a small zenfone 11, with a triple camerasetup (add a 3x zoomcamera). Tired of big phones, but need a little zoom.
Working 12hr shifts where you sometimes have a lot of downtime to sit on the phone, having a big battery is a big deal.
you made a real one.
I got the Xperia 5 iv and got around 8 hour screen on time during whole day use on 60 hz. Xperia 5 v also seems to have even better battery life. Maybe better than the Zenfone 10 IMO .
Did they still offer only 2 years of software support?
@@HumbleHuman-k7g I think 2 updates and 3 yr security patch
Had the ZF10 a Telephoto lense or be 200€ cheaper it would have been my phone for sure. But it's a bit of a pricey niche phone, excellent in many ways but pricey.
My next phone will either be a Zenfone or Xperia, as they have the best battery and I really, REALLY NEED the battery. C:
The question is do you want a compact phone or a big one? Zenfone has big phone battery in a small form factor.
Edit: Plus I need the headphone jack for my IEMs!!! :)
Just wait for the ultra, it should be better since it has bigger battery
Unrelated: This city looks beautiful. Is this in Indonesia/Malaysia?
Zenfone for the win!
Screen brightness (nits) difference?
My iPhone is on the brink of death and I was lookin to get an android so lovin the recent content! p.s. opinions on the pixel watch?
Do you use apple watch? Android watches aren't as good.
iPhones are winning tho, most young people use it androids only really flourish due to budget market and in developing nations, but once that nation gets wealthier more people start buying iPhones
@@Hhhh22222-w hahaha bang on. I have apps that I rely on that aren't on Android or some copy paste job that it barely works. BUT it's also good to try out non-iphones for a bit. Apple watch keeps bringing me back.
Could you review the iPhone 12 mini?
I did the 13 mini, check it out th-cam.com/video/esGB3eRyJn8/w-d-xo.html
If the Zenfone had longer software support and better cameras, it would be pretty close to being perfect.
It would be good if they just did pixel launcher too. The ZenFone near stock OS is so mid as well. Haptics aren't tight, camera meh, software support meh. Soooo close. I'm pumped for ZenFone 11 though.
@@thesamuelnam Same, looking forward to it.
Do you have video on Zenfone 10 vs iPhone 15?
This is the closest to that video. I do a short comparison. But it's the pro: th-cam.com/video/wl601kR2S8I/w-d-xo.html
I know Pixel battery is bad. I own one, and the battery is ONE thing I hate about it. But I didn't know Zenfone's battery was that good.
Zenfone got me over to android because of the battery life. Incredible. I guess you can get more out of the iPhone Max phones. But this is smaller than regular iphone
Pixels should do better with the 10 since it will be tsmc just like samsungs snapdragon phones and iphones. But i will say when they did have snapdragon they werent that good even back then so hopefully the fully custom chip with tsmc will help.
Yeah. Definitely keen to check out pixel 10 once they move onto TSMC.
@@thesamuelnam yeah should help alot and will be interesting. Have a s24 ultra and iphone 13 as well as a old google pixel xl but they were not too good back then.
what camera do you use for vloging
A7s3 and iPhone 13 Mini.
Had the pixel 8 for a week and sold it due to horrible battery life. Averaged under 4 hours of SOT, always had to charge during the day or the phone dies.
Can you compare Zenfone 10 vs Galaxy S24 (regular)?
Crap. I sold Zenfone
Parents need battery indicators on their kids.
i'm a big person for battery life would pixel 8 pro be better than the non pro? if not then that's a deal breaker for me
Yes it’s better since it has a larger battery, but not by much. Pixl 8: 4575, 8 Pro has 5050 only a 475 mah difference.
"We shoved food into the fat babies" 😂 bro..
2 major updates vs 7 major updates 😂
Thank you for reassuring me into buying a Zenfone 10 or the next iteration. As you said the Pixel is "a fun phone".
Sadly I heard, Zenfone 10 is going to be the last compact phone by Asus.
@@keysburntgucci9016Not confirmed. The ROG-sized Z11 Ultra is coming out next week, which suggests a more compact Z11 may follow in its footsteps.
zenfone updated to A14?
TSMC+Nearly stock Android=Amazing battery life
yeah but the question is, do they have the same battery health? mine is at 86% battery health
I've used ZenFone 3 months longer than pixel. If anything ZenFone will have less health.
I have a pixel 6 and I'm tempted to switch to Zenphone 10 because of its smaller size. I really wish Google would make a Pixel Mini thats 5.5 inches.
I'm in the same camp. That's why I love the iPhone mini 5.4 inch. I think Zenfone would be a good upgrade from 6 for battery if you don't care about cameras and software.
@@thesamuelnamdid you try to use Gcam on the Zenfone. I think it will make a big difference
