"What the hell am I watching?" This is the correct response to watching babaymetal for the first time! After your second babymetal MV, you'll think, hey, I'm starting to really like this band! By the third babaymetal MV , YOU'LL BE ONE OF US! Once you enter the Foxhole, they is no return! You've been warned! Try Headbanger next, live version. Oh and I was kidding earlier. #NotInACult😃
My first reaction after watching this performance and HeadBanger!! was, "I guess if you want to start a cult, you need adorable Japanese teenage girls to lead it". Needless to say, I have joined.
The girls go hard with their choreography on EVERY song during their concerts. These girls are literally athletes. The amount of stamina and physical fitness they have to be in to perform at this level for 11-18 songs back to back for 1-1.5+ hours and still sing without sounded winded or off is crazy to me. 🤘🦊🤘
@@-theeddieshow- I just got back from seeing Babymetal for the first time in Seattle. Road of Resistance was the closing song. The concert was awesome.
Great reaction & commentary! Please... definitely react to Babymetal's Megitsune, & Karate! Both of those are gems! Watch the earlier 2016//2017 music videos first, then their live show versions. Awesome! Cheers!
Nice first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the original 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they are currently on another world tour that includes many dates here in the USA, released a new amazing album just a few months ago, AND they just release a song called "Metali (メタり!!)" featuring Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave! 🤘🦊🤘
Haha, nice! Welcome to Babymetal, and glad you two enjoyed this! 1). Thank your friend IRL who requested this, Babymetal has been a one of a kind musical experience for me. 2). These girls have been performing since 12 / 11 years old in 2010, and currently on tour with Dethklok in US. They are a live performance group, so watching live is always best option. 3). More reactions? HECK YES!! If you like the WTF factor, these would be good reaction suggestions: Catch Me If You Can: sick band solos, and the most BRUTALLY adorable song about hide and seek. iine: Do the music video for this one. Early Babymetal, jamming every genre into one song, and pulling it off effortlessly. Gimme Chocolate: viral hit, their “most famous” song. Babymetal angry if they don’t get chocolate 🤣. BABYMETAL DEATH (Legend 1997 concert): instrumental mayhem, dark, sinister, and epic show closer for lead Su-metal’s sweet 16th. Enjoy! I’ll subscribe, and look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊🤘🦊
This performance is from their concert 8+ years ago when the lead singer (the one in the middle) was 17 years old and the other two were 15...in front of 20,000 people.🤘🦊🤘
Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 BABYMETAL are now going on North American tour (30 gigs) with DETHKLOK including states where your favorite Disney Lands are located. (Florida on Sep.2, 3 times in CA in Oct.) BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Before BM, I was a stubborn jazz / funk lover) We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Great first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su-metal (lead vocalist) was 17, Yuimetal and Moametal only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits). This was also the end of a 90 minute concert - they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They have said they made this more technical and faster than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live ... and that they had to practice hard when they did perform it with BABYMETAL at an awards show in London later in 2015. This was the Kami Band (BABYMETAL's backing band for all live shows) playing live, each one of them is a world class musician. In this concert the Kami Band were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars (Takayoshi has the glitter pink guitar) with BOH on his 6 string bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. BABYMETAL are pretty much unique in that they invented their own genre fusing Metal with JPop aesthetics (they called it Kawaii Metal - kawaii means cute as in adorable) and their own way of doing things. Now they mix all sorts of different styles and genres with the metal. Do not try to categorise them as just one thing or to put them in any one box. You will not be able to predict them, just expect the unexpected. They don't copy anybody or follow the same format as nearly every other band (for a start they have brought choreographed dance to metal). They started in 2010 aged 12, 11 and 11. Now, 13 years on, they are internationally the most successful Japanese band (domestically there are many much bigger artists, but their success has been limited or is even non-existent outside of Japan). They are Su-metal (lead vocalist), Moametal and, since the start of April this year, Momometal (backing vocals, harmonies but mainly in charge of dance, leading the audience, getting everybody involved and joining in). The third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues. After Yui left Su and Moa continued as a duo through to their 10th anniversary and a bit beyond for the next 4-5 years, supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers Riho, Kano and Momoko) taking turns dancing in the third spot. Momoko was the only remaining Avenger from about March 2020 and was finally revealed as the official new third member on 1st April this year. They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. There are many people who have played in the Kami band as they all have their own bands or other commitments and they swap in and out depending on their availability, but the same hard core of about 6 musicians have played the vast majority of concerts and they are the ones you will see in most live performance videos. The Kami Band became the full time support for all live shows at the start of 2014 and have been with BABYMETAL ever since - but only for live shows, they do not record the studio versions. The Kami Band of the West - American musicians - have supported BABYMETAL in the more extended foreign tours since 2019. BABYMETAL have nearly 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will also mix and blend so many other styles and genres with the metal. Some songs are good hard metal, some lean towards their pop roots and they do everything in between. Their official videos are all very good and worth seeing, but BABYMETAL are best experienced live. Even they say so themselves. For a song not being used as the finale (you were right, 'Road of Resistance was the closer so the sing-along in the middle was very much extended) try 'Headbanger' live at the Legend 1997 concert - actually from December 2013 celebrating Su-meta;'s 16th birthday - she was born in 1997. You can find high quality videos for that performance that are safe to use for a reaction posted by either abr metal or Gans Tomas.
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey🦊🤘🔥 Nice you got this suggestion to start the BM journey, it's not just another song on BM setlist but also like here, it's the ender for the show at The Babyklok Tour around the US and everyone loves to have fun with this one. _Road Of Resistance_ is a power/speed metal song, is one of their most epic anthem and got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce. Is all about facing your own path without looking back. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena, by this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians whom were send to help with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists). They are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but his fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get more clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it, meanwhile next suggestion: - Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas and abr metal got that clip under Head Bangya title. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast. th-cam.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/w-d-xo.html - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo. th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014. th-cam.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/w-d-xo.html - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997. th-cam.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/w-d-xo.html - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one. th-cam.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/w-d-xo.html - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014. th-cam.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/w-d-xo.html - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do. th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs. th-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/w-d-xo.html - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday). th-cam.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/w-d-xo.html - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live. th-cam.com/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/w-d-xo.html If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is. th-cam.com/video/ESzY9dL613Q/w-d-xo.html - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal. th-cam.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/w-d-xo.html - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014. th-cam.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/w-d-xo.html - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro. th-cam.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/w-d-xo.html - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case. - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts. th-cam.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/w-d-xo.html Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo. - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song. th-cam.com/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/w-d-xo.html This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list. th-cam.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/w-d-xo.html And here's a BM guide (the long one). th-cam.com/video/gDne0xwniTg/w-d-xo.html There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one. th-cam.com/video/9X5vj1-Sg_4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=icqbG22Ysw0Pc-Ll 🦊🤘
I always love when reactors react to Road Of Resistance.... there's always that "Is that little girl really calling for a wall of death" in the beginning.... And then you see the "oh shit" look when they realize that a 5'2" Asian girl called for, and got a big ass wall of death/mosh pit, is hilarious. Love the sing a long part with the fans... I think they added that part in just to give the drummer a break before his legs fall off. Since you've only just started on Babymetal, you've got more than 10yrs of music to catch up on. These girls have been at it since they were 13/14, and is currently touring the US.🤣🤣🤣🤘🦊🤘
So i dont think you guys caught it but at the beginning when she was looking really intense and spreading her arms and then it goes to a shot of the crowd, it was cuz she was signaling for them to part for a Wall of Death and they did it on command. As for recommendations, here are a few based on different things you might be looking for (tho i always recommend watching live performances - it's their best strength): more of this vibe? Ijime Dame Zettai live at sonisphere 2014 metal ballad? akatsuki cool solo with amazing band intro? Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of the Metal Gods just pure vocals? the first take Monochrome piano version adorable angry duet? Sis.Anger A rare solo by one of the backup singers and awesome crowd engagement? Headbanger! Moa version Traditional japanese elements meet metal? Megitsune, or Metali Crazy theatrics at a level we've only seen once? Legend 1997 Babymetal Death Surreal/ethereal vibes? From Dusk to Dawn (the live vocals are also insane) rap + metal? BxMxC or Pa Pa Ya
Welcome to BM! :D This group is probably one of the best live performers around - and have been for about 12-13 years now - they virtually NEVER disappoint and you'll nearly always end up with an inane smile on your face at the end of a track (well...I do). Good reaction and more pls!! You'll probably get drowned in comments on what to listen to - for me Headbanger Legend 1997 or maybe Monochrome live is a good start. Have fun & may the Fox God go with you :P
„Badass in the cutest way“ sums it up pretty perfectly. BABYMETAL is such a cool and unique band. Despite the obvious top notch musicians, vocals, stage designs, crowd interaction and dancing, the positivity they bring to the stage really stands out. And it’s not just for the show, it’s a way of life that quickly takes hold of you once you get into them. They are a real phenomenon!
I flew from the UK to go to that show, I had seen them live in the UK 3 times before that. Their live shows are so great, they are more or less like that for the entire show, and the same goes for the crowd. And when people say you are not ready, to see them live you are not ready, you can watch all the video's MV's or live performances, and you still will not be ready to watch a live show. The group and the fans start at 100% compared to other bands, then just push it more. I am going to see them for the 25th time in London in November.
I pop in for anybody watching Babymetal for the first time! I usually like for reactors to see 4 songs, Headbanger from Legend 1997, Ijime from Sonisphere, and Rondo of Nightmare from Budokan Black Night, then Road of Resistance.
👍 👍 BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.
Thanks a lot, teacher. When's the exam? Lol jk. That's a lot of brand new information, at least for me. And it's quite interesting to see the producers on companies like AMUZE pitch their ideas to their bosses like it's a videogame company. And that the producer treats the band like a passion project. Hope they don't burnout the girls, because I know Yui quit the band for health concerns, and I would feel really bad if any of that happens to the other girls.
You are welcome grasshopper. The girls are just as passionate about BabyMetal as Amuse and Koba. Remember these young ladies trained for a career on stage. It was their decision. And from everything I have read Koba left it up to Suzuka and Moa on whether they wished to continue after Yui's departure.
ah ... new souls , welcome and congratulation for entering " The BABYMETAL Universe ". with Babymetal there's unwritten golden rule " expect the unexpected ". " Live BABYMETAL is Life "
Nice reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. I'm late as usual due to my timezone and it's all been said. But I wanted to welcome you anyway and remark this: they are very diverse musically and they will surprise you on each song. So, always expect the unexpected. 😁 Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey and see you next time! 🤘🦊
they played at sonisphere in 2014 they were supposed to play at a small stage but were moved to the main stage just hours before the show and played in front oof 60.0000 people that had never heard of them but the crowd asked for more when they finished, Doing that when you 13-15 demands skills
Great reaction supprised at the mosh pit . You may of noticed Su commanded a wall of Death at the start and that would of being one of Many . Try Megitsune performed anytime in the show but has being used as an opener . Or Metali going down well about midway in the show on there North America tour at this moment. 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
welcome to the Babymetal experience (the Foxhole). Do look at more. I'd always suggest the music video of Megitsune to get a flavour of how great their earlier stuff can be, music and choreo (do pause a lot though, to avoid copyright isues).
i think the fact that they went that fucking hard, the girls and the kami band, at the end of a 90 minute set is actually even more impressive and why this is one of the best ones to start with.
NIce reaction! Welcome to the "foxhole"; it's called that because BM's patron deity is the Fox God...just go with it for now. BM have been around since 2010 and were formed as the "Heavy Metal Club" sub-group of the Amuse Agency's school themed j-pop group "Sakura Gakuin" (Cherry Blossom Academy). The members you saw here are Suzuka Nakamoto as lead singer supported by Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Their concept and music comes out of the mind of their producer Kei Kobayashi and it's very eclectic; you'll get prog rock, death metal, pop, ska and even dubstep. I think of a BM performance as half way between a rock concert and a Broadway show. Their backing band is the Kami Band and contains a roster of Japan's best musicians. As you go deeper down the "foxhole" I think you'll appreciate the band even more, Su's singing and the way Moa and Yui control the crowd. In this concert Moa and Yui are 15 and Su is 17, so they are still kids, and I'm always surprised by how they can control a crowd of 20000 fans. "Road of Resistance" is about fighting and resisting even if you can't see the way ahead and it reminds us that there are things worth fighting for - so it's an appropriate song for the times. It was the song that sold me on BM because I ended it as an emotional wreck. They take you from one pinnacle to another and just keep on going. But for me the real hero of this song is the drummer, Hideki Aoyama, I think this song averages over 200 BPM. I wonder what's the collective number of calories expended by BM and the Kami Band in this performance. The song has a strong "Dragonforce vibe" because Dragonforce's Li and Totman worked on it and play it on the album, but I like this live Kami Band version more. At the end of the crowd "wows" I love the combination of the insanely fast guitar riff and the dance sequence that ends with the girls standing strongly and outlined by the lights, that's where I really get the chills. It shows how well the Babymetal team works to bring together music, singing, dancing and stage and lighting design. For your next song I recommend "Headbanger Legend 1997".
MORE BABYMETAL!!! Here are a few of my favorites: Gimme Chocolate Official video Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse PA PA YA!! (Feat. F.HERO) Official video Monochrome - Piano ver. / The First Take
Great reaction, live to see people's first time watching Babymetal, thanks for posting. Try Headbanger live at Legend 1997 or Catch Me If You Can for the quentissential Babymetal song (super cute, super heavy song about playing hide and seek.with an ogre), or BMC live at Budokan where they're a bit older. Always watch them live if you can, live Babymetal is the best Babymetal 🤘
Babymetals live songs are all the same--AWESOME!! They are touring USA now, so you can probably see some live performances of more recent songs, although they do play this song still as their last song of each show
Nice reaction and Welcome to the Foxhole :) I would suggest Headbanger live Legend of 97 (The year Su, the lead singer was born). It's a real rocker ;) BabyMetal is like nothing you've ever seen before, enjoy the ride!
Thanks for the reaction. Babymetal is famous for their live shows. They are currently on the last leg of their US shows which have been amazing. Here are three songs that you would guarantee love to hear and maybe react to. Catch Me If You Can, Pa Pa Ya and Awadama Fever. Their are some great live presentations of these songs on TH-cam. METALI is their newest song and Gimme Chocolate is their most viral song. You cant miss with Babymetal and Expect the Unexpected with all their songs. Have fun!
Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘 8+ years later this song still rocks hard! I finally got to see them live at Louder Than Life festival 2 weeks ago and even non-fans said they were the best act of the night! (I agree, but then again I'm biased 😂). Kawaii conqeurs all!
Hi from Ireland this was the first song that got me hooked, gave all their albums now, for another amazing audience participation there us one of their song monochrome live headbanger from same show you just watched, rhondo of nightmare, more recent try arcadia, there are loads, thanks for you review, will subscribe in hope of more babymetal
Welcome to Babymetal, looking forward to an interesting journey. Babymetal is surprising in many way... One of them is as you can see their ability to deliver it live...
This performance was January 2015. The premiere of the song was some months earlier in 2014 at O2 Academy in Brixton, UK. Kobametal had wanted to drop it from the setlist due to some sound or venue mix issue. However, Yui successfully argued for going ahead with the premiere because of the message of the song being so much the story of the band.
@@-theeddieshow- , in response to 🤔, Kobametal is Kei Kobayashi and he is the Producer, manager and creator of Babymetal. Yui is original member Yuimetal (Mizuno Yui) who, at the time had recently turned 15 years old. The significance being this is an example that runs counter to the detractors/haters claim that the girls have no influence or control and are "just told what to do and say." The song's arrangement was tweaked to work around the sound problem and the updated arrangement is the one used since.
Insane performance and crazy audience. If you want to see another unbelievable audience, take a look at "Blind Guardian live at Wacken 2016". There are two songs in one Video "The Bards Song & Valhalla". In front of over 80.000 People at Wacken Festival in Germany. You never saw a audience like that. This german power metal band is amazing and the crowd love them. Greetings from Germany
First RUSH and now Babymetal??? Can it get any better? NO WAY! Have nothin to add cuz, as always, jakemuller did a great job. Greets from Germany, welcome to the Foxhole and keep on rockin!
I’m not going to recommend a song, I’m just going to recommend that you keep reacting to everything Babymetal. It’s amazing band with an amazing fanbase, you will discover that along the way. And okay I have to recommend a song, I like too many of their songs 😂 I recommend the song ‘Akatsuki’. It’s widely considered the fan favorite song from the band by the fanbase. As you will soon figure out, Babymetal live shows are their speciality. The studio version of their songs are all great, but the live performance, live band, the dance aspect, all of that is enjoyed much more when it’s live. So, Akatsuki live in Budokan 2014 is the way. Looking forward to more BM (Babymetal) reactions! 🔥 🦊 🔥
One thing to keep in mind with Babymetal is that if you do another reaction to them, and you should, don't expect the next song to sound like this one. There is a lot of musical diversity in Babymetal's music.
Need to check out BabyMetal Rondo Of Nightmare live at Budokan this song is freaking amazing this song shows the band and their amazing skills at the beginning and show SueMetal vocals really good 😊 they are freaking amazingly talented they been on tour all over the world 🌎 lately and selling out shows everywhere welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🦊🦊
If you don't think this was the best one to see live then I don't think anything could live up to your expectations because this is one of the best live performances, of any band, period.
Au contraire, great song to start the BabyMetal journey. With guitar parts written my Dragon Force, R of R is one of the all-time greatest rock/metal live performances. By any group, any time, anywhere.
The Fox hole runs deep. Here's a few starters from their old to mid stuff. 1. Megitsune music video (best BabyMetal song all time) 2. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (best live show of the kami band imo) 3. BMTH Kingslayer ft BabyMetal (most replayed song on my playlist) 4. Pa pa ya live (lots of energy)
You guys gotta get into Imminence and While She Sleeps. Both top teir metal core bands with albums soon this year, multiple singles for reacting to! Cheers!
Please react to Babymetal Rondo of nightmare I got to see them live in Houston tx for BABYKLOK TOUR... I can say I finally got to see them after waiting years. Best concert in long time so fun! Worth every penny at once in life time event. Next I wanna go to Japan see them there.
Great reaction friends 🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥 This is not one of my favorites but definitely a fan favorite, I'm not a huge fan of that Dragonforce style. They do all kinds of stuff and with an open mind you will most likely find something you love from them. Keep on rocking 💥🎸🥁 🎸💥
Babymetal and their unique genre of Metal - Kawaii (Cute) Metal - is the most refreshing and original Metal genre since I saw Sabbath back in 1976 with their new-fangled genre called Heavy Metal. Babymetal are a bright, shining jewel in the treasure chest that is female and female-led Japanese Rock and Metal bands. Babymetal have grown a lot since this ROR performance - literally as they are now in their early 20's and figuratively in that their music has evolved and become even more excellent. Try more of their excellent live performances and MV's, please, but also have a look at some of the other jewels in the box - Band-Maid (THE best Hard Rock band in existence), Nemophila, Lovebites, Asterism and Hanabie are all as original, surprising, fun and enjoyable as the magnificent Babymetal. 🦊🤘🤘🦊
I've been IN that mosh pit at a Babymetal show before! I didn't plan to, mind you. I thought I was far enough back that the mosh pit would miss me. I WAS WRONG! I've been to plenty of metal shows with mosh pits - Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, etc., and the mosh pit at Babymetal was by far the biggest I've ever encountered!
Loved the reaction. This was the song that officially made me a fan. Wish i could go back in time for this show. Going to vegas tomorrow for their show on sunday. I cant wait!
IMO his version of Road of Resistance will be the best version you will find. AS to what song to explore next thats hard. they cover a wide range of styles. Of the top of my head I'd say maybe Headbanger from the Legend 1997 show (Su's 16th birthday) or maybe Ijime Dame Zettai from Sonisphere, they show that put them on the international map. they also have several music videos, which fams will say don't show Su's real voice since they are studio edits, but I do like the MV for Karate. Sui even raps in BMC. All in all you really can't go wrong with any song you choose. If you want nostalgia, you may want to see the MV for Doki Doki Morning. It was their very first song. I think Su was 13 when it came out
she instructed the pit! "Wall of Death" is what that was called. she split the crowd down the middle. they crowd to the sides. When the Music starts "UNLEASH HELL!"
I'm Japanese. Thank for great reaction. They are already adults now. So I recommend their latest official MV, for example 'Mirror mirror', 'Metal kingdom' on You Tube.😀
I always love watching the first few times people experience Babymetal. Another live performace that was tranformative for the group is Ijime, Dame, Zettai -:ive at Sonishpere. It was their first performance outside of Japan (it was in the UK) in front of 50K hard core metalheads. They had been bumped up from the sidestage at the last minute to open the main stage. It's also an iconic song about rejecting Bullying. Like the performance you just watched, it was the closing number of a short set that started with the bulk of the audience not even understanding what they were seeing and hearing - I'll leave it to you to decide if they won the audience over.
Nice reaction. Babymetal is fun exciting and full of strong positive uplift songs. Feeling down tired worn out. Forget 5 hour energy drinks or coffee. Put on Babymetal and feel your strength return. Warning driving while listening to Babymetal may cause excessive speed and tickets. LOL. I tend to recommend starting at the beginning so you can see and hear how much they have grown, and you can literally grow with them since they start so young. Doki Doki Morning is their first song. Then iine so you can see how they started to unleash the crazy. Babymetal is known for their unique blends of pop style vocals and solid metal base. But they didn't stop there. They blend many genres of music in between those two styles. Then they add in the Kawaii which means cute in Japanese. Since they are so adorable, I don't think they could get around the whole Kawaii thing. It's their natural state of being. That brings us to their choreography which they do for every song they perform. And it is a blend of dance styles as well. Starting to see a pattern. Take some styles blend them together and make something new and unique. Lastly and just as important they are known for their live performances. They think of their albums as business cards. an introduction. If you want to know what they really can do see them live. Babymetal is the three ladies. Their stage Band is known as the Kamiband. Or god band. Each representing the god of their instrument. And when you hear them play you instantly know why. Yup they're just that good. to get some of their action check out any Babymetal song that has an intro attached to it. Intros always done by the Kamiband. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music. See You
Well, you’ve opened a can of worms! BABYMETAL has been around for a bit over twelve years now (they started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (or the “Greek chorus” as I like to call them) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the band in 2018, and only earlier this year Momometal (Momoko Okazaki) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer. BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. If you have a notion to check out more BABYMETAL, I suggest you go back to the beginning, and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay"), both released in 2012. I'm sure you will find both very entertaining. There is a playlist on TH-cam ("BABYMETAL Top Twenty") that includes those two songs and the one you just reacted to; I highly recommend you give it a look, it has a mix of MV’s and live performances, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole (you're in for a wild ride!!!). Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! We are . . . BABYMETAL!!! KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘 See you!!!
Kayla clearly got that moment, first Kayla felt what I was watching. in the middle of the song, okay, this is good, then Kayla feels i want dancing hahaha Welcome to fox hole
Not sure where you guys are located, but I see you wearing the Bucks shirt and they were just in Milwaukee a few weeks ago. I went to their concert and it was so good.
Heeeyyyyy!!! So fun to see you react to one of my favorite bands that I’ve only really paid attention to this year. You two are always so much fun - really brightens my day. If you haven’t seen BandMaid they are definitely worth checking out. 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼
You stumbled into a true gem here! I'm 46, a prog metal head, and my wife and I saw them in Houston and Dallas a month ago and they were the most emotional and electric shows of my life! They are mid 20s now (well one member left and a new third member, a little younger currently) but their level of energy and stage presence is to this day completely unmatched by any band I've seen in my life. They make me laugh and smile and cry, very inspiring story involving a lot of moving parts and an extreme level of hard work by the ladies. Hope you enjoy more! No two songs sound the same..there's something unexpected around every single corner with Babymetal!
One interesting thing about the name babymetal is that in japanese babymetal and heavy metal are pretty much the same words. Bebīmetaru and hebī metaru.
Yeah baby metal is worth a look. Your comments are Awesome!!! I rarely watch a full video, and I watched this intrigued because I know of baby metal. Your analysis is awesome, I will be watching more of you videos for sure ✌️
"What the hell am I watching?"
This is the correct response to watching babaymetal for the first time!
😂😂😂
#TotallyACult!😂😂😂
My first reaction after watching this performance and HeadBanger!! was, "I guess if you want to start a cult, you need adorable Japanese teenage girls to lead it".
Needless to say, I have joined.
@@TravisBHartwell welcome!👊🐺
The girls go hard with their choreography on EVERY song during their concerts. These girls are literally athletes. The amount of stamina and physical fitness they have to be in to perform at this level for 11-18 songs back to back for 1-1.5+ hours and still sing without sounded winded or off is crazy to me. 🤘🦊🤘
They are talented!
@@-theeddieshow- I just got back from seeing Babymetal for the first time in Seattle. Road of Resistance was the closing song. The concert was awesome.
Singing and dancing at the same time? I hear they practice singing on treadmills.
@@crapstirrerI don't know if that's actually true but hey it's babymetal so you never know
Great reaction & commentary! Please... definitely react to Babymetal's Megitsune, & Karate!
Thanks for commenting!🤘
HECK YES!! If you like the WTF factor, these would be good reaction suggestions:
Catch Me If You Can: sick band solos, and the most BRUTALLY adorable song about hide and seek.
iine: Do the music video for this one.
Thanks for watching!❤️🦊❤️
tbabymetal death i wanna seethat reaction when they going to watch that . hahaha both will be chocked
This performance is from their concert 8+ years ago when the lead singer (the one in the middle) was 17 years old and the other two were 15...in front of 20,000 people.🤘🦊🤘
Thanks for commenting!🤘
Pretty sure it was 25K fans @ this show! 🦊👍
Welcome & Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 BABYMETAL are now going on North American tour (30 gigs) with DETHKLOK including states where your favorite Disney Lands are located. (Florida on Sep.2, 3 times in CA in Oct.)
BABYMETAL is the best musical phenomenon I have ever experienced in my 68-year-long life. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Thanks for commenting!🤘
The foxhole claims two more lives!
Thanks for watching!❤️🦊❤️
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey🦊🤘🔥
Nice you got this suggestion to start the BM journey, it's not just another song on BM setlist but also like here, it's the ender for the show at The Babyklok Tour around the US and everyone loves to have fun with this one.
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25.
They are:
- Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums.
I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get more clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it, meanwhile next suggestion:
- Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas and abr metal got that clip under Head Bangya title.
See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
- Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.

- Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html

th-cam.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/w-d-xo.html
- Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.

- Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
- Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
th-cam.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/w-d-xo.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.

There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one.

As for recommendations, here are a few based on different things you might be looking for (tho i always recommend watching live performances - it's their best strength):
more of this vibe? Ijime Dame Zettai live at sonisphere 2014
metal ballad? akatsuki
cool solo with amazing band intro? Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of the Metal Gods
just pure vocals? the first take Monochrome piano version
adorable angry duet? Sis.Anger
A rare solo by one of the backup singers and awesome crowd engagement? Headbanger! Moa version
Traditional japanese elements meet metal? Megitsune, or Metali
Crazy theatrics at a level we've only seen once? Legend 1997 Babymetal Death
Surreal/ethereal vibes? From Dusk to Dawn (the live vocals are also insane)
rap + metal? BxMxC or Pa Pa Ya
We are... BABYMETAL!
This performance is so good, I literally died. 💀🦊💀

Thanks for watching!❤️🦊❤️
saw BABYMETAL in concert , best concert ever
I just saw these girls for the first time at their concert in Philly last month. Next level would be to see them in Japan!!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for watching!❤️
I pop in for anybody watching Babymetal for the first time! I usually like for reactors to see 4 songs, Headbanger from Legend 1997, Ijime from Sonisphere, and Rondo of Nightmare from Budokan Black Night, then Road of Resistance.
Thanks for watching and commenting 🤘🦊🤘
👍 👍
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.

Yui Mizuno left BabyMetal in 2018 due to health reasons and at their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019 after Yui's departure) has officially become the third member.

Nice reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL.
I'm late as usual due to my timezone and it's all been said. But I wanted to welcome you anyway and remark this: they are very diverse musically and they will surprise you on each song. So, always expect the unexpected. 😁 Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey and see you next time!

they played at sonisphere in 2014 they were supposed to play at a small stage but were moved to the main stage just hours before the show and played in front oof 60.0000 people that had never heard of them but the crowd asked for more when they finished, Doing that when you 13-15 demands skills
_"but were moved to the main stage just hours before the show"_ the urban legend goes strong :p
🦊
@@TheLeomarti you mean it's not true, even if not true they did manage to get a crowed that did not know them wanting more
Great reaction supprised at the mosh pit .
❤️🦊❤️
Notice at the end how she gets the crowd back on time so they can finish the song. She's a rock queen!
that mosh pit/wall of death was called for by SuMetal at the beginning when she spread her hands.
Thanks for watching!🤘
i think the fact that they went that fucking hard, the girls and the kami band, at the end of a 90 minute set is actually even more impressive and why this is one of the best ones to start with.
Must do Headbanger live legend of 1997.
For the best BabyMetal live performance.
Thank you for watching and commenting!🫶🏼

Japanese musicians are light years ahead of every where else.
I have not run into even one J band that isn't mind blowing amazing.

Try Headbanger live at Legend 1997 or Catch Me If You Can for the quentissential Babymetal song (super cute, super heavy song about playing hide and seek.with an ogre), or BMC live at Budokan where they're a bit older. Always watch them live if you can, live Babymetal is the best Babymetal 🤘

yeahh!! please more babymetal, next babymetal "akatsuki" or "headbanger" live version

FYI - that mosh pit didn't just randomly open. Su Metal opened the pit right at the start of the song when she stepped up and split the crowd
Thanks for watching!❤️
That was so great to watch. You guys have no idea how deep the fox hole goes. Babymetal is life changing.
"I don't know how to feel about this" is a very normal reaction when you watch Babymetal the first time xD
Babymetals live songs are all the same--AWESOME!! They are touring USA now, so you can probably see some live performances of more recent songs, although they do play this song still as their last song of each show
Thanks for commenting❤️
Have fun!

One of them is as you can see their ability to deliver it live...

This was the first time they played this song live, and it was the last song of their set.
Thanks for watching!🤘
🤔
@@-theeddieshow- , in response to 🤔,
Kobametal is Kei Kobayashi and he is the Producer, manager and creator of Babymetal.

I’m not going to recommend a song, I’m just going to recommend that you keep reacting to everything Babymetal. It’s amazing band with an amazing fanbase, you will discover that along the way.
And okay I have to recommend a song, I like too many of their songs 😂
I recommend the song ‘Akatsuki’.

Babynetal has so many really great songs, You can have a great time reacting to them.
Thanks for watching!🤘
One thing to keep in mind with Babymetal is that if you do another reaction to them, and you should, don't expect the next song to sound like this one. There is a lot of musical diversity in Babymetal's music.
Need to check out BabyMetal Rondo Of Nightmare live at Budokan this song is freaking amazing this song shows the band and their amazing skills at the beginning and show SueMetal vocals really good 😊 they are freaking amazingly talented they been on tour all over the world 🌎 lately and selling out shows everywhere welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🦊🦊
Thanks for watching!❤️🦊❤️
If you don't think this was the best one to see live then I don't think anything could live up to your expectations because this is one of the best live performances, of any band, period.
Au contraire, great song to start the BabyMetal journey. With guitar parts written my Dragon Force, R of R is one of the all-time greatest rock/metal live performances. By any group, any time, anywhere.

Make more reactions to BABYMETAL every song is a LOT DIFFERENT and UNIQUE
I recomended BABYBETAL HEADBANGER live legend 1997
The Fox hole runs deep. Here's a few starters from their old to mid stuff.
1. Megitsune music video (best BabyMetal song all time)
2. Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live (best live show of the kami band imo)
3. BMTH Kingslayer ft BabyMetal (most replayed song on my playlist)
4. Pa pa ya live (lots of energy)
Thanks for watching!🫶🏼
Megitsune is definitely the next baby metal song to react to.
i saw them last night ! was an amazing show ! 🤘🤘😎😎 This was the last song of the show .

Kill it, Girl!
They are the best band in the world at this moment.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
"The Moshpit appeared out of nowhere", - With the "dividing gesture", suzuka asked the crowd to form a wall of death, which always ends in a mosh pit.
You following is about to get bigger
Yes this WAS the best one to start with
BABYMETAL a live band you will find that they are all over the top live

I think Su was 13 when it came out
Sugoi! Love BABYMETAL!!! More please!!

she instructed the pit! "Wall of Death" is what that was called. she split the crowd down the middle. they crowd to the sides. When the Music starts "UNLEASH HELL!"
I LITERALLY JUST WATCHED THEM LIVE IN LA WOW

I'm Japanese. Thank for great reaction.
They are already adults now. So I recommend their latest official MV, for example 'Mirror mirror', 'Metal kingdom' on You Tube.😀
Next Baby Metal you should react to: Karate (official video)
The Foxgod will be pleased!
❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for watching and commenting 🤘🦊🤘
See You
There are so many great songs to react to. Gimme chocolate, papaya, karate, rondo of nightmare just to name a few.

I saw BabyMetal last year in Toronto on the BabyKlok Tour. It was the best show I've seen in years!

Not sure where you guys are located, but I see you wearing the Bucks shirt and they were just in Milwaukee a few weeks ago. I went to their concert and it was so good.
Try their Headbanger Live!
Heeeyyyyy!!! So fun to see you react to one of my favorite bands that I’ve only really paid attention to this year. You two are always so much fun - really brightens my day. If you haven’t seen BandMaid they are definitely worth checking out. 🤘🏼🎧🤟🏼
Thank you for the kind words!
