Great artist philosopher of our time so thankful he came to our school in Detroit '98.. Awesome lecturer, also he did a studio tour of our senior fine art studios and when he got to my studio poked his head in looked around and was about to leave then i began talking with him about Tiger stadium....
He taught to support himself, some book proceeds, speaking engagements etc. He’s proof that you don’t need a big bank roll to live an original and inspirational life… Read his book I dare you.
Robert Irwin gets 10 points automatically from me for talking back to the architect Richard Meier. Meier was locked into a design straightjacket that proved over time to be phenomenologically destitute.
@edwardferry He made at least 1000 bucks a month playing horse at Hollywood , Santa Anita In the sixties that was a decent amount of money when your studio was 100 a month. The man is an incredible talent , great teacher too

Gentleman, revolutionary, thankful he shared his talent with us this man truly lived his life:).
How can one begin to build off of the findings of an artist like this without being seen as a knockoff??
A true genius.
Rest in peace.
