My favourite part was James Turrell saying "...My thought there is that it's important that you go alone, almost as though you are coming to a ruin, you discovered these things yourself... You go through it and these things are your discovery"
This man is truly a celestial dreamer, for the sake of it. Amazing
The best thing I found today in the Internet. Extremely powerful piece of art.
Fascinating! A friend just went to James Turrell's Green Mountain SkySpace in Colorado at dawn this morning for her 70-something birthday. It was an unparalleled experience, she said.
Now, I understand a little more about James Turrell's work & hope to have the opportunity to visit a site.
I'm in Vancouver, BC 🇨🇦
This has blown me away with it's mathematical complexity and beauty, I've not seen anyone attempt this with this accuracy since the Egyptians, I have total respect for what he's created.
This place is such a gift to humanity. An infinitely deep well for creative inspiration. What a mark to make to the world, using the Earth itself to paint. Incredible.
One of the greatest artist alive .
Beautiful primer to the work of James Turrell, thank you for making this available
It will be finished around the year 2200. Sorry for the wait.
Beautiful, just beautiful...
Wow stunning. The medium is the message.
It's the best thing I've seen on a long time. Stunning
I cannot wait to visit!
Fascinating art!
Y LOVE YOU JAMES!! YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIGHTLY
i have learned the way he made the drawing come to life and how it tells stories behind every drawing that he does.
bloody love Mr Turrell, very low bow
This is SO great!!! I gotta see it!
Totally amazing perfect space to know we are where we are and what it means to be
Wow, so amazing! I was lucky enough to experience the exhibition "James Turrell: A Retrospective" at LACMA at that time and I very much hope to visit this "place" as well! I kinda want to recommend not watching this and just going if possible ha
Excellent Sir 🙏🌷🌷
to "drink light" - what great diction, also "transmogrifies"
Most profound place I’ve ever been to.
What is the process for entering? Can you just show up and enter or is there gates/security?
Speaking of places with a powerful quality. I would love to know his opinion on Uluru in Australia.
Damm, since 1975 ...
Goddamn. This guy is an artist.
experience the light...............
One day..
So cool! I can't wait to discover it for myself. . . I do have a question, what happens when it rains?
It's a desert so, I'm guessing hardly ever rains.
It does rain, and snows in the winter as well. Drainage within is designed to accommodate weather events like these
masterclass
Where can I find the music in this video?
If ever there was a place to do LSD or mushrooms, this would be the place. Amazing.
Kanye on Joe Rogan brought me here.
One of my favorite artists! Can one tour this place?
I have my dad work on this place and my dad knows the security guard and he lets us in but sadly no one can go in till a long time
Unfortunately many people who have worked for the project haven't seen it.
@@devona5147 can you please tell us a bit about how it is in there and what you experience?
So this place is closed to public?
Why build it then
@@kylemisiolek4801 Responding a year late, but it's closed because it's still not complete. You can only tour it if you donate a sizeable amount or if you know someone who works there. It plans to officially open in 2024.
YEEZY sent me! 🤷🏽♀️
Rodger Deakins must film this place
I used to drive by there almost everyday at times but never went in. Oh well.
Indiana Jones has not even discovered this yet. But he will.
It's like a Kiva...............
Is it open? Before I take the 4hr drive
Wikipedia says it's tentatively set to open to the public in 2024
Is it possible to visit Roden Crater?

So THIS is what Letterman has done since Retirement
as above, so below.............
Just added this to the bucket list. Drop a hit of acid and spend the night here
can anyone hear what he says at 5:08-5:10? "per disperception....?"
prejudiced perception
100 Million for this... Ye?... hmmm let me reconsider that vote
YOU *GOT* IT! Guggenheim money indulges "art" project...
Turn of the sound & without the "spacey music" & just reading what he says ~
what a lot of inspired nonsense.
Imagine doing mushrooms here
J
Kanye brought me here
maybe ole jimmy turrell can give his navajo neighbors within eyes distance, who have no running water and dirt floors some of that tax free money? What do you say Jimmy?

But it doesn’t answer any questions…what is it asking?…this is not new
Who's here because of Kanye?

Not me, thank effing god
