I work at Nordstrom and tbh I strongly believe this is the best retail company ever compared to others. Just the way they treat their employees and the benefits you recieve.

I have my in person interview tomorrow! It's at a high volume store, I've worked at the same mall but different store for over a year now and it gets crazy! Angie Kostenko, I would strongly suggest that you have very great people skills and relationship building skills so that you are able to seriously connect with your client. Learn the product as much as you can. Your PB you have only have access to that in store only. You have access 24hour to your nordstrom account which has a lot of learning information as eel along with your personal nordstrom email address. After 3months you will get business cards too. Promote yourself on all social media outlets have people request to shop with you, upload ootd pictures, new arrival pictures. I wish you the best of luck and keep me updated on your journey.

Cosmetics is 3% commission+a base salary, and image is dependant on what vendor you're trying to work for.

I love their cotton squares, spf that is rated #1 in the industry, and their ibuki line. it's also the brand that made the skincare for Nars, and was the sister company to Cle De Peau until recently

I am having an in person interview on Monday for Sales Associate Woman's Department I studied Nordstrom a bit and how the company got started, I am a fashion major, and I'm really going in with no previous work experience since 2013, but I have sales experience, I have experience as a personal stylist because I was a personal stylist assistant. Outside of that I 'm really walking in just as I am and with those credentials and learned intelligence. Anything you think I should be prepared for as in questions? Girl just yesterday I filled out the application, called them so they could get my name for the manager, got called by the manager a HOUR later for a phone interview, got a SENCOND interview for that same day, and got HIRED on spot thy loved me and I'm so happy to be about of the Nordstrom team!!

It may vary from city to city but I believe you have to be 18 years old. Nordstrom does offer a high school program to student called Fashion Board. Contact your local Nordstrom and inquire about it. JCPenny's, PACSUN offers employment to 16 year olds.

So I'm assuming Nordstrom isn't strong with hiring teens, or people with little retail experience? I want to work for them or another serious retail store because I'm slowly trying to transition to retail jobs. I've worked for Auntie Anne's, McDonald's, now currently working for Chipolte. Between McDonald's and Chipotle I worked for Old Navy for a few weeks, during their black friday/christmas season yeah thought I didn't like the store because they didn't get enough foot traffic but it was still a nice experience to see what to do as far as working retail. I'm about to be 18 in October and I only feel it's right to move into the retail market but I need to work on my fashion sense and hair first before I apply for these stores because I don't want to go in looking busted. I applied for Target a few days ago and going to see about calling them Tuesday to see if I can get an interview and hopefully the seasonal job I'm looking for.

I use to work for Nordstrom in the accessories and Savvy dept.
And I used to work in the Cosmetics Department for 1 year and 5 months. It's a good place to get experience in customer service and to improve skills.
