Nice bro killed it. But your too funny with the re-enacting.. lol he said broad shoulders and I'm like oh damn Manny need to work out a bit more for that lol
Now that I've learned that there's a big difference between photographing female models and male models, we definitely need more shoots with male models. This was an excellent video. Thank you both!
Man i never thought about getting one of those carts but now it seems invaluable to have a little workspace and not constantly leave your bag on the ground
My advice, keep doing videos like these and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and grow as a photographer. I know you probably lost some views by those viewers that are only interested in seeing the women, but those of us that really want to be better at photography enjoy seeing all sorts of situations and models. In fact, I would love to see series on people that aren’t models and how to direct them and shoot them to get some great shots. You left the Sony program to broaden your horizons. Keep doing it, I’m enjoying the journey.
I'm glad he gave some very clear starting points for poses, and what to avoid. Typically videos just give general guidelines and that can make it hard to know where to start. I've got the technical aspects of photography mostly down, but portraits are my favorite kind and they need a lot more knowledge and experience with posing/composition, so thank you!
wow this was 3 years ago. very cool. just popped up on my suggestions. that is the good thing about YT. ill go to your channel now to see your updated works.
This was very helpful.. My friend is a film producer and they needed a male model for a catalog on a country clothing Midwest store.. And asked me if i could do it since the last minute models the agency send her did not match what the store owner had in mind. So i guess I'll do it using all the info presented here
Great vid! Definitely more male models. Love the female shoots but I definitely picked up more tips from this one and I shared it with aspiring make models in my area. Great job!
Great shoot and an amazing model! I just recently started shooting with male models. It’s really hard to find decent info on good poses and how to direct male models so I appreciate this upload Manny. Great work as always!
@@MannyOrtiz For real. lol. I'm so used to coaching models that I don't even know what it's like to "not" do it lol. I'd love to meet up with a model and him/her be like oh you good. "I GOT THIS" and then just hit the ILLEST poses 🤣😂🤣😂
That was super and great to hear tips from Bobby's perspective. Julia Trotti recently did a video on the same subject using a non professional male model and it's very interesting to see both approaches.
Manny you are one of the best fashion photographers I know. Your the bomb. Maybe in this life you will come to Romania. I will love that. Good light bro.
Which flash in your package are you using in this shoot? And do you still use it? I came here on a friends recommendation to learn more about off camera flash and I need help buying! I'll use your link! Haha
Great stuff Manny. I've photographed a guy in the past who wanted some pics for his portfolio so just had to figure it out but those tips are gold. Low angles and powerful stances work great, I'll remember that for next time. Thanks, keep em coming. Cheers.
I'm a concert photographer that usually works with men doing group shots or Photoshoots with bands and i really wish you would do more of this to get ideas of how to work with men.
This was excellent. Even though the video is geared toward models, it will be useful for showing to senior guys before a session. They often just don't know what to do with hands and feet, and this will help a lot. Great job as always! (Yes to more male models.)
Manny ortiz, hopefully you can make a video on comparing 55mm 1.8 to 50mm 1.8 which is cheaper and other lenses comparing sony to third party. Thank you. All the best man!
Really appreciated this. I was trying to figure out how to shoot for clothing line. This helped me out with what to do with male poses. Thanks again. Great video!
Loved!!! Great job Manny! I really enjoyed this video!!! I have a question, how do you hold the camera with only one hand and not have camera shake? Any tips? Yes.... to more male models.
Most cameras nowadays have built in image stabilizers. Either that, or the lenses have that feature if the camera doesn't. Some cameras dont have that feature built into it so the photographers rely on the lenses to do the work. Another tip to reduce blurriness is to increase your shutter speed. The most common is 1/60. The best (in my opinion) is 1/120. That reduces most, if not all, of shake without underexposing your images.
One more tip. Look how the model when he is speaking in the video his natural head inclination is that his forehead is back a little bit. But then when he poses as a model. His forehead is pointed at the camera. Instead of up at the sky. Different models have different skull shapes and eyebrow lines and jawbones. You want to feel like the model is looking directly at the camera. And you don't want to see the skin under the chin. With the chin up the feeling is that of cockiness or arrogance. But with the forehead down and chin slighty down with a direct look the feeling is of confidence.
Are you using a gel? Because flash light is more cold than on your photo. Your photos looks nice and warm. If not how many calvin are you using for this kind of shoot?
i actually liked this video cause im getting ready to have a shoot with a male dj and ive only done 1 before and im still fairly new at it so i need help with the posing and what not but this kinda helped me so yeah ...... good video man and i love your work
Great stuff as usual! One thing I think could make the video better, would be to see all of the shots you took. Whether it be at the end of the video or right after you took it. Plus, maybe you could add the camera settings you used at the bottom of the photos. That would be awesome!
Dope video. I do a lot of self portraits and the posing tips help out a lot. Bro, you doing all the re-enacting was funny. “Manny gotta hit the gym” LOL!
Nice bro killed it. But your too funny with the re-enacting.. lol he said broad shoulders and I'm like oh damn Manny need to work out a bit more for that lol
Wait till you see me next time 💪
@@MannyOrtiz Hahaha ok papo get them gains baby!!! 💪🏽💪🏽
you just killed it bro but also help me to grow my photography channel th-cam.com/video/0DskNPdutqo/w-d-xo.html
Manny Ortiz Do you remember the power output for your flash and settings for your camera were on these? These are killer.
You’re*
I love your work with female models but this was on another level simply because you can’t find any good info on shooting male models online.
Yupppp! Something different
Male photographers are hesitant to shoot male models because of toxic masculinity.
I feel you kid
th-cam.com/video/9zBRiTVe-CA/w-d-xo.html He made a good book titled photographing men
This is seriously helping me out.
Absolutely more male models. Super helpful and there’s a large gap in portrait photography when it comes to male content
This dude was smooth he knew his shit that was too easy 😂 that shot under the tracks from the street was dope AF tho sick work brotha 💯
As @$!#
Now that I've learned that there's a big difference between photographing female models and male models, we definitely need more shoots with male models. This was an excellent video. Thank you both!
He’s on point it’s great when you got a model that knows how’s to pose makes your job a lot easier
I love it when the model knows exactly what to do and the shoot goes so smooth and fun
Than you are not photographer . You are only camera clicker.
I see you didn’t bring Diana along for this one 👀
Bryan Gomez Nope she not coming 😬 lol
Haaha
Manny Ortiz good call lol
😂😂😂
lmaoooo
lighting , lighting, lighting. These photos came out sick! the black and white one with the train out the window was fire!!!!!!!
Man i never thought about getting one of those carts but now it seems invaluable to have a little workspace and not constantly leave your bag on the ground
This was dope bro. Definitely more male models. Helped a lot
Honestly, this had to be one of my favorites.
Steven Sanchez 😭😭😭😭 Thank you
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHH Manny on the side while the model is giving the tips has me dead
Manny got on his knees, whispered “hell ya” and I could not look away.. nice video.
Manny bro we need another male model shoot like this. It's so much info for female models but it's limited for men.
Very helpful. I have a male shoot coming up and I needed these tips.
I'm absolutely rolling for the last tip. Manny has the facial expressions like he about to body anyone who comes close
LMAOOO
Manny's talented regardless of the sex of the model! This was different, informative, and fresh!
Thanks for being one of my inspirations

Lol! I can see why you left Diana at home ;) Snorted coffee outta my nose when you were acting the models tips at the end
Great work man!! You captured some very clean shots. Garage location was super dope!
wow this was 3 years ago. very cool. just popped up on my suggestions. that is the good thing about YT. ill go to your channel now to see your updated works.
Thanks for the video. Always remember, shadows are just as important as the light itself. Without them, light would not exist.
Such good natural light from the windows - I would have ditched the strobe. Men need shadows to carve them out, and the strobe flattened the light
The guy is handsome af. Stupid ph camera would make him looks carved out af as well.
I’m a photographer & you kinda motivated me try out new this and it’s amazing so far 🙏🏽 appreciate these videos !!

I got a senior shoot today, this will definitely help me. thanks guys.
Hi Manny from 🇬🇧 UK! Can you find a dark skin men, between age 30-40 years old and photograph him in black and white please?! Thanks 🤔
The last few shots man incredible
Those middle of the street shots are 🔥. Good job fellas
Yea I've always wandered how they did them on the fly!!! very helpful indeed
Yes !want to see more male model vids... That walking on road pose was killer ... All the best manny
Coincidentally i have a shoot with a male subject this saturday. This definitely helped out a lot since most of my subjects are women.
u nailed it manny. the models dedication was fantastic. keep sharing tips like this. Cheers
Great video man! Do you think you could incorporate a little information on lighting techniques? Love the work though bro!
It's crazy how easy it is with a pro model. They come READY with all the experience. All you gotta do is have a good time shooting. 😊
Easy!!! Lol
I like to use Bruce Weber photos as a template inspo. for shooting male models .
yes please more male models!!! I go to an AllBoys school and I'm constantly out taking portraits for people and this was so so so helpful
Manny, can you do a similar video with a big (heavy) male model? Looking for posing ideas.
That was super and great to hear tips from Bobby's perspective. Julia Trotti recently did a video on the same subject using a non professional male model and it's very interesting to see both approaches.
Great video Manny!
Bring more male and female models, and please explore more posing tips. Those are great!
Great video! Bobby is a real pro. His tips were excellent. I can't wait to put them into practice.
Bring him back.
Dope as always!! Great photography and straight to the point. I love your videos bro. Thanks for mixing it up
Manny you are one of the best fashion photographers I know. Your the bomb. Maybe in this life you will come to Romania. I will love that. Good light bro.
Bro your photo shoots are amazing and your portraits
Nice Manny!! Good to see your back
Which flash in your package are you using in this shoot? And do you still use it? I came here on a friends recommendation to learn more about off camera flash and I need help buying! I'll use your link! Haha
Dope video bro! Definitely wanna see more male models, this was useful 👌🏽
Can you do a video on the magmod softbox? Id be interested to hear what you think about it.
This was one of my favorite videos that you have great posted. Lots of valuable information and tips and fun to watch.

Awesome work. You are making me want to move to sony gear. Question for you ....what light stand are you using? It looks a lot more sturdy than mine.
Manny, this video is dope, when are you going to make more male model photoshoots ? How about even a couple model photoshoot? God Bless Man!
It's great to see a male model. More like this please.
Manny ortiz, hopefully you can make a video on comparing 55mm 1.8 to 50mm 1.8 which is cheaper and other lenses comparing sony to third party. Thank you. All the best man!
Photos are bomb. Nice change of pace.
Straight up lifting some of these moves for a photoshoot with a friend. Lifesaver content Manny ✌️

Fantastic, you killed it bro...a shout out to that model, he was amazing
Very informative vid. Would you mind telling me what your lighting set up is? Cheers
great shoot. Yes more male models. I shot my first one for head shots for a modeling agency he needed. But, not too many youtube videos for that.
Thank you Manny, I used your tips on my self timed portraits to post up....it was fun to do, the dominance tip a good reminder; thank you bro.
Are you using a gel? Because flash light is more cold than on your photo. Your photos looks nice and warm. If not how many calvin are you using for this kind of shoot?
Nice vid. Watching your videos has me keen to give portraits a go.
Hey Manny, awesome video and I appreciate the model pose tips at the end. I would love to see more male model videos.
Dope video man! What kind of light are you using?

Super helpful for me so I can coach my senior guys better!
That was actually very dope. Been waitin* on this for a minute. Yeah, more male models and male poses would be nice. Great stuff!
Oluseun Ogunlegan thanks man
Good job Manny! It definitely shows that you are more natural with posing women.
the model clearly knows what he is doing.. nice yes yes let more video flow🧐
Like your shooting styles man😍
Great video. Gained some new insights about posing male models. Keep them coming. Would love to see more!
Great stuff as usual! One thing I think could make the video better, would be to see all of the shots you took. Whether it be at the end of the video or right after you took it. Plus, maybe you could add the camera settings you used at the bottom of the photos. That would be awesome!
More male modeling tips would be VERY much appreciated!!
Hi Manny was curious to know which lighting kit or strobe lighting you were using in this video.
What is the name of that thing you connected to the camera and then to the light? Future photographer
Hi I am French nice video man. I have a question, where can I found the same flash ?
Dope video. I do a lot of self portraits and the posing tips help out a lot. Bro, you doing all the re-enacting was funny. “Manny gotta hit the gym” LOL!
Great vid Manny, useful tips.
