In this video, I go over my 5 favorite poses when posing models. Sometimes the pressure can get to you while on location and these basic poses can help you when you run out of ideas

I had my first ever fashion shoot in a studio yesterday, and I was quite nervous, even tho the model was my wife. We struggled a lot with poses in the beginning as she’s not a model, and I’m not very experienced working with models (I’ve taken mostly street and landscape in the past). This is very helpful for my future shoots! Thanks Manny!
I was in your position last week. Had taken natural candids, landscapes before l, but first time tried indoor off camera shoot with my gf, and we both struggled with poses.

These are very basic but effective poses when you are struggling with posing on location. I recommend you memorize at least 5 of them. What also helps is practicing in the mirror yourself. It will help you understand the direction you will need to give the model when asking them to pose 👍 Hope this helped

I definitely use #2 a lot, I always tell the models you have 2 hands/arms and 2 legs/feet, make them do something different (especially the hands and arms). #3 I use as much as I can but it doesn't work with everyone. #4 is really good too. I need to use #5 more often I seem to forget about it, and I'll definitely try #1 from now on. Nice video again Manny!

Believe it or not, I have my first model shoot today!! I put out a casting call on Model Mayhem and had a few responses. So my first model and I will meet this afternoon at 5 pm in front of Tokyo Station and we'll be using that area because it is great!! So, the last few days have seen me hurriedly search through TH-cam for videos like this. Most, while good, were far too long and had far too many ideas. I just need something to get a very nervous guy through an hour - short, simple and easy ideas for a beginner level model photographer like me! Thanks most kindly for this killer video :)

I use the poses, when they pose at front of the camera. Or when we doing the shoot, show them the photo's, so they take poses by them own.
