    • @katejackson2510

      @Floren, my favourite kata also, the self defence techniques hidden are so powerful, focused, devastatingly lethal especially for a woman exploding with lethal deadly intent against a male foolish enough to dare attack a black belt karate lady, do you still study karate ? all women should take up karate, don’t you agree ?

    • @Florenstiya
      @Florenstiya ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @KATE JACKSON unfortunately I don't practice anymore
      It's something I did for a bit while I was still in school and my biggest regret was leaving it, but I had an injury that stopped me from doing sports for a while
      You're right, it's a good sport for women to take up - for self defense and katas are so beautiful

    Very good with some mistakes (not in the style or tempo of the kata, but in actual mechanical problems). By trying to make the kata more exciting with faster hands and transitions, she sometimes loses her stability (and her power and precision). E.g., she performs some blocks or strikes before her foot fully lands. One example is at 1:53. She strikes before the rear foot is properly grounded. In that same sequence, she also has a weak mae geri, and after the leg pulls back the right hand inverted fist comes from a poor position. Watch at slow speed to see how her right fist comes away from her hip and she has to pull it back to do the strike (it should come cleanly from the hip.) Also, at 1:45 she stutter-steps with her left foot before doing the right mae geri. That left foot should be planted. Again, this is a problem with her stability. That said, I think this interpretation of seipai is very interesting and I enjoyed the performance.

      I want to make it clear... I think she's great. Those are small mistakes caused by trying too hard to please the audience.

      @Yahya Yahya OK.., Who said it was Higaonna"style"? It is clearly Japanese Goju. Kata evolves over time, the same as culture and language. Don't judge, Rudi. Let's see your "pure" Okinawan kata, if you have it.

      Yes its Shito-ryu. I want to learn this one. Another dude in our group has larger build like myself (Compared to the Japanese) and this suit people who want that power in their kata. So we don't lose kata competitions to Shotokan and Gojuryu people.

    • @rankinewasyn5369
      @rankinewasyn5369 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A stern look and loud kia might not win the fight, but it will certainly give the defender an advantage. Do you expect them to be smiling as they show how they would defend their life? As for the kia, it could be enough of a shock to the attacker to break their concentration. It's an expenditure of raw energy to warn the attacker of what's coming next...

      @milo3463 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The other hand does a "Grab" so she's basically grabbing her opponent's head and then hitting it with the "Tsuki" which is a mispell of the technique Zuki, you're making fun of her when you don't even know how to spell it right. lol

    • @markecheverria1531

      @@milo3463 I recommend that you consult your eye doctor or use the "slow camera" so you can see that her strike is going downward ( not even horizontal), and then she repositions her fist. So, i insist, what is she aiming to strike with that descending tsuki? I hope that now you can give an useful answeer, if not, stfu :)

    • @milo3463
      @milo3463 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markecheverria1531 Not doctor eye, I've seen the Bunkai for this kata myself, so yeh, The first kick is supposed to make your head tilt downwards a little, then she performs a "hair grab" with her left hand and then hits the opponent's head which should be really low at this point with the right "Zuki", I'm sorry If I was rude the first time.

    • @markecheverria1531
      @markecheverria1531 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@milo3463 I think I understand what you mean, but let me insist that it is one thing for the blow to be low and another thing for the fist to be downward. When I wrote that comment I was only looking to make an underhanded criticism, I apologize for that. Today I understand that katas can include movements that later, when applied, are executed in a slightly different way. Perhaps that explains why the performer makes a "descending tsuki" in her kata performance. Please excuse me if I was rude too. Greetings!
