I asked you if I could submit this one but I don't think you got the message, but I was hoping we would both have something to learn from this game. I certainly did. Your Market Crashes were good and the Meteor bait was away from your front forces. You surely gave me a good scare this game. I never underestimated you. Good luck in your future games!
When I noticed the lander at 39:40, and the ridiculous amount of saved funds, I expected Bruce to build a megatank. And I waited... And waited... And waited... And then the game ended. Didn't even build a rockets for the lander either. Neither of them would've been good, but the surprise megatank would've been funny! Especially because the one advantage to using a lander is that you can smuggle units up past the recon without it knowing.
*I left a comment here earlier but idk why it never sent. Anyways, I'm glad I was able to submit a replay for the tournament series to continue. This game was honestly a roller coaster ride for me, and Bruce really felt like someone who knew how to fundamentally play Sasha for the most part. *SPOILERS* The reason I didn't go for a Recon opening was because I was expecting Tanks to counter the opening. Almost in a rock-paper-scissors way, I went for the APC opening to counter and avoid the Tank opening I was expecting. There were many times I wanted to resign on this game. I really felt that I was in a bad position when I didn't get one of the center cities and when I felt the need to fall back and split my forces around the pipeseams. Losing my Comm Tower was definitely another moment I wanted to resign. But I still wanted this to make it a good game and hope something goes my way. And as my friend, Melth, has said, "Hope it not a strategy!" If I ever felt that I had an advantage, it was probably only when I got my Comm Tower back after it seemed that Bruce had thrown away way too much to prevent me from getting my Tower. It was a crazy game all around, and I hope I get to share more in the future!
Cool stuff! And honestly, your perseverance is an example that sometimes weathering the storm is good. It is possible to come back behind, particularly in the fog, it's possible to get back in the saddle by just taking solid engagements. I had felt really jittery playing in fog particularly, namely because the enemy is often far bigger in my mind then they actually are.
One day I will have good replay to propose. I just started, i'm like 850-900 and my strategy is to greed to make my opponent blood addicted, then I punish his greed. Baboon strat but 5w/1lose thanks to your vids !
I feel like maybe Bruce818 was thinking with that saved money that he needed to make sure he had enough for his market crash to always full clear Sturm's power bar? But then the end result of not spending the funds in the first place was worse than losing some of the value from those funds to a meteor strike would have ever been. I can see the logic at least, even if it fails out once you think about it a bit more.
I agree with Deejus about how important using that enclosed Base for Recons is. You really need a Recon on that, doubly so if you are pushing in the center or into the enemy lab area, but you can't build it early since you would be better off using the early Funds to harass with a free recon elsewhere. I won a Hawke into Sasha division 1 match before it got to the deathball stage partly thanks to that.
Fun match! Thanks to Deej for casting it and to the players for playing it. We love our boy advance warrior. Spoilers: Honestly Bruce would have had it in the bag if he just spent his money! I think he was wanting to make sure he had enough for the market crash but still, imagine he spent the dead 20k he had all match and no BBs/Lander that's ~47k 😵💫
I know how nutty this is about to sound, but since Sasha had so much money, maybe deleting the arty and building a missiles (instead of recon) to pick off a copter or two along with gaining that vision and forcing Sturm to focus on dislodging the airport lock wouldn't have been a bad idea either?
Instead of the trapped recon which can see but not shoot, or the artillery which can shoot but not see, try the unit which does both! Build a missiles today ❤️
3:00 my first thought was also recon, but what about Sonja artillery? It could stop that cap without any support, while forcing out a response artillery and slowing tank builds.
@@blahmaster6kPark an artillery 3 tiles away and Sonja artillery can't hut back due to only 2 vision. Killing it and cap with infantry at the same time. Also the map is too big and Sonja doesn't scale well if she doesn't use her superior Intel to cinch the game fast.
Sonja should... also build a recon. She needs it more because it has boosted vision and reveal forests later. Not to mention fighters are sometimes built on this map and she needs to see if there's any coming to kill her copters. That being said, she's still not good in this map.
Hey Deejus, would you mind listing the music used in this video please? It's pretty dang good. Excellent video as always. Thank you for the replay and explanation.
I have to agree with 7coredalice. I played a 3 vs 3 team fog match and I had frequent coordination with my two allies. It was a match where we had two islands with bases and one large island in the center. So, we coordinated and denied them from taking any of our islands and we were taking theirs. In the end, we beat them. So, you can pick one guy and negotiate with them to take out the other two before ending the truce.
@@sanstroid If you cant make an agreement, my suggestion is to retreat your troops when you can even if you lose a city or two. Be careful of getting ganked though. Good luck.
Im guessing the boats & saving money were mayhap overcompensating the meteor counterplay with market crash? If so I like the thought process but sounds like a bit too much metagaming which weakened the fundamentals
Bruce818 here, Thanks for covering the game DeeJus and to AdvanceWarrior for submitting it!!

I think Blue built a Lander because it avoids being spotted by the Recon so he can keep his unit composition hidden
honestly, my dumbass would have made a rocket in that factory

The lander meant Advance Warrior wasn’t seeing what was coming from the bottom base, since it was just outside its vision.
Crazy match!
good point! was it worth the investment tho...idk haha
lander was bringing funds from Portugal
what a power move

A Bestbuy giftcard for the Recon that never did any damage to the enemy and just provided a constant stream of intel? I think so.

still loving EVERY nutty lower level video so far!
Sturm is the best pick. I found that the hard way playing Darthnoob with Sturm and I had Sasha. I was so far behind on income!
Im curious to see a VB vs sturm matchup where the sturm recon cant interupt a VB cap even after 2 attack
I think he held on to funds so that market crash would guarantee take the power to 0
I have never seen anyone as stinzy as this Sasha🥴

Lander to not being spotted by the recon ?
one question, what is the best strategy in FFA 4 players in fog of war if the people that you are matching are a bit strong?
One can make up for skill with diplomacy. Being able to control the flow of the battlefield via negotiation is as important as battlefield prowess.
