I was riding a greyhound bus. And this kind lady was on her way to a half way house. She grew up being brutally abused; and addiction made its self comfortable in her family, for many decades. She herself was lost in addiction, trying to cover her own pain, when he daughter told her that she herself has addiction issues. That’s broke her heart, so she turned herself in, and is in a half way house so she can get herself better and encourage her daughter. We talked about God, and life and hope. We both felt like this was the first time in our lives that maybe life could get better, maybe there was a way our, maybe we weren’t as ugly, and dirty and hopeless as we thought. All glory goes to God. And God bless this lovely woman. She showed me this song. And the song Worn by 12th avenue North. God bless y’all.
And let me add that we got on the bus in downtown San Antonio, I am from a small town so the big city felt sinister. She had asked if she could sit with me. I think she wanted to keep me safe. There was also a man, who had just gotten out of prison that day, the only the he had on him was his very worn Bible. He hadn’t known he was getting out today. He told me that God is the way, he walked w a walk of triumph. My mom thinks these two people were guardian angels sent to protect me. Because he urged me to sit near him, and seemed worried that I hadn’t. And he stood up the whole drive and watched over me. It amazing the people God uses. The people God chooses, that every other human would overlook or clutch their purses closer to them when they are around. God bless y’all.
3 years ago i was in a really bad situation with a man who was into drugs really bad. myself and my kids had nowhere else to go. i listened to this song on the radio every day and it gave my the inspiration to pick myself up and get us out of that situation. we have a great life now.
This was mine and my moms song for years, I think I was 8 if not 9 when I heard this on the tv, I’m 19 now and it’s been ours ever since. She died in August of 2022 and I’ll always remember her singing this to me on her bad days, I’ll give anything to hear her sing it to me one more time no matter how bad I thought she sounded💜 I’ll miss you forever dude💜🕊️

Although I didn't like the 2 albums released after "Spirit" much, (I preferred her original sound, her & her guitar, like on "Pieces of You"), she didn't sell out. She's an artist who wanted to branch out & try other sounds. She was poor before she blew up with "Pieces of You"! If I became a multi-millionaire overnight, I'd wanna play around with all the different styles of music & music producers that were at my disposal now because of my MONEY!! She tried some other sounds, but stayed true to herself & eventually came back around- full circle, with "Picking Up The Pieces". Hope she keeps putting albums out, & I'd LOVE to be able to take MY daughters to see her in concert! I had the privilege of seeing her live in east TN, an amazing, small, outdoor, summer concert... I'm over ready to see her again!

I remember seeing Jewel in a super small venue in Salt Lake City without knowing whom she was. She was golden and well this was back in the mid 90's when she was just pushing her first album. Stunned my soul. Which was a universe test for me as I was dating an equally physically beautiful woman at the time but one who was straight-edged, cold and calculating. In a way I want to say that Jewel helped me let her go, because my gf was without the "power soul" jewel emanated. Upon reflection though, I should have viewed the instance as Jewel blessing my relationship with my gf, and I should have stuck hard to who she was. Everytime I watch a Jewel clip on youtube all people seem to talk about are her teeth...seriously? I've been a fan of hers since the mid-90's and never even NOTICED her teeth until you all pointed it out on here. I love Jewel, she's been my favourite singer since she first started out and I still love her, she's an amazing talent and posesses natural beauty, whatever you all think of her and her teeth - not every person in the spotlight has to look perfect.
