- The first stop in Oakland from San Francisco, and the last stop in Oakland to San Francisco easily became one of my favorite stations in the system to check out.
What you'll see here is the entire fleet in action, comprised of Bombardier, Alstom, Morrison-Knudsen & Rohr cars all arriving & departing from West Oakland Station.
I hope you guys enjoyed the video. Subscribe & stay tuned for more!!

The Bart train stopping and starting sounds sound so satisfying to me
@breadandcircuses8127 🤓👆
Chuga Choo Choo! I'm a train and I approve this video !!
I do feel like how the old BART cars sound alone is becoming quite a meme.
Bart trains are my favorite subways
🤔
I love those old cars :)
Me too, but they are retiring next year as if 2022
The Washington Metro and BART are among the fastest.
Hard to disagree! I was standing near the end of the platform from where the trains pull in, and I almost lost my hat when the train passed by!
Bart has the lightest subway cars in the world that's why they accelerate so fast
Don't forget Marta and the other systems built around that time.
BART’s technology I believe was created with NASA to create this unbelievable acceleration.
I was on vacation in 2016 in San Francisco and this was one great way on getting around the bay area. Hoping to go again soon later in 2020 or sometime next year. Bart is a great way to get around just as long as you know where to go and getting off.
I MISS YOU OLD BART 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow these subways are fast! Also the new BART trains look good!
Bart has the lightest subway cars in the world that's why they accelerate so fast
Just wait until you see NY.
I Love Bay Area Rapid Transit ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I used to live right arcoss from the west oakland station when i was in grade school i lived on the 3rd floor i wood alway get a good view of the trains come.x
7:35 bird almost became the train’s dinner
Lol
If I'm not mistaken, West Oakland is the last stop before it goes underground under the Bay...and the speed is kicking it! ATU Local 1555 Operators doing what they do best! :)
You are correct!
Thank you for the Great video
These sounds are so similar all over the word 🥰
I Love To Hear The A/C Sounds.
13:50 sounds more like a jet
Nice!
Honestly, the first/last few seconds of this train arriving/departing sound like an R142A.
Higher pitched
BART is probably one of the more interesting subway systems. Soon the Legacy Fleet will be no more.
The old trains are extremely long in the tooth now. The fact that they were custom jobs built to order for BART really hasn’t helped with long term maintenance. We really do need new trains.
Hopefully the new trains at least share more parts with existing models and are easier to maintain. We can’t afford to waste the same insane money on maintenance we currently do. BART’s “cool, custom, futuristic trains” were a pretty disastrous decision in retrospect, but at least now we know what not to do.
@@TohaBgood2a disaster that i loved filming and taking trips on. dont gotta worry about it anymore tho
Its cool that it says in the wall entering the M talkgroup
Yotam Amit1 is a good time of year
Platform 1 Is For Daly City, SFO Airport, Millbrae.
Platform 2 Is For Richmond, Antioch, Berryessa, And Dublin/Pleasanton.
These days the bart trains arrive early
yes
I remember AC Transit had the T bus in the T bus would go to the Naval Air Station Alameda and Treasure Island windows are still in Naval base in the 1980s
I just seen a Bart train in western New York being carried by a 18wheeler I’m curious why it was here I’m interested now
Probably saw one of the new cars being delivered. They are built in NY.
like train
I used to live in Oakland at a toddler. Man I miss riding those trains
I want new videos of the bart trains passing the alvarado street and san leandro, that is my favorite railfannig.
Hopefully next year, that can happen.
@@ShaneAkACaitSith810 Ok just warn me when the film of the alvarado street railfanning is done.
Fastest subway in America
No, WMATA in DC is faster than this system
no
Jokester Dud Bart is faster than dc
As someone who has ridden both and was a daily rider for both, Bart I faster hands down. DC metro can go just as fast, however stops are closer than bart stations and trains run manual so they slow down more. If you've rode Bart, you'll notice it doesn't jerk or stop real suddenly as often as other systems across the country.
@@dreamyyx_3762 what is its maximum permissible speed?
Trains Go Very Fast.
That's a great video of the Marshall East Oakland So more important videos videos file I support you and I know that support my fans I support everybody good job not gonna lie
Doors Opening in 6:08
I love the front end on the original BART trains. The newer ones are boring in comparison.
Doors closing in 6:45
To Daly City
isnt that the train from the flordia earthquake?
I will spare you guys whats hanppens when you where a wig and the Bart train is comeing through a tunnel
,
I hate the sound when it goes down the Bay
The new cars are much quieter in the tube lately. Looks like they are still experimenting with the wheel profile to reduce noise.
Marta trains are faster than Bart trains
nope bart is the fastest subway system in the usa
@@elliottday2415 *WHAT FART IS THE FASTEST SUBWAY SYSTEM EVER? WHATTTT!!!?!?*
@@ejdsndnj He is actually right. These BART trains routinely go 79mph in operation. They’re technically limited to 70 mph to reduce wear, but they still run at top speed to catch up to their schedule.
No matter which way you cut it, BART is an extremely cool system with incredibly fast trains for a subway/metro!
@@TohaBgood2Our marta trains are fast
@@ejdsndnj But BART is still the fastest rapid rail/metro system on the continent by at least 5 mph. BART, the DC Metro, and MARTA were all built at the same time as part of the same new metro building boom in the US.
Of these, BART is by far the most direct embodiment of the "regional metro" concept. Unlike the other contemporaneous systems, it does not run in a single large city and its suburbs. Instead it connects several large million population + cities inside of the same megaregion. So it actually needs the speed to make those long interurban trips viable.
