Has anyone figured out how to fix the missing speed limit number in the HUD and instrument cluster on a 2022 tahoe Z71 ? . It just shows a white speed limit sign with no numbers. Thanks.
I believe you'll need a connected vehicle plan through OnStar for the "built-in" Google maps and the speed limit to appear. Also, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and make sure both are turned on for Android and OnStar so it can see the GPS location for speed limits on current roads.
HOW DO I CHANGE MY TIME & DATE ON MY TAHOE ? We just got this dang thing out of the shop again like x3 bc my Onstar won’t work !!! I’m so tired of dealing with this truck and the issues we have had !! Thx so much !!!
Appreciate it! That is correct for the new "built-in" Navigation with Google. An easy work around is to use Apple CarPlay/Android Auto & your maps will be on the screen as well!
Yes it is and that is correct with having wifi for it and the other "built-in" Google features to work. Just hit the Blue OnStar button or set up the MyChevrolet mobile app to get connected! Also, you can use your phone with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto for on-screen maps.
The 3 diagonal lines are just part of the phone icon itself. A green lightning bolt over them means thr wireless charging is working. If it's a yellow lightning bolt, it means the wireless charging is not working and need to adjust phone or remove case.
Kyle i have a question? I purchased a 2022 Chevy RST and the Radio starts up but when I put the truck into gear it goes off the sound it shows as on and only will work once I change the station? Not sure why or what do you recommend I do to fix this problem very annoying. Great video Sir!!
Appreciate it! Honestly I have not heard of that issue before. I would definitely take it to your local dealership and have service take a look at what's going on.
Hey Kyle, one of the most detailed, helpful and user friendly videos I have seen. Thank you for that. I pick up a 2024 GMC Yukon SLT next week. The display screen is the same shape and size as what you show in your video. Do you know if everything should be the same or if General Motors has already changed things? Also, do I have to have my phone with me and turned on for the Google map features in the car to work and does it share features back to my phone when I get to it or turn it on. Thank you again!
The cameras will automatically come on when in reverse. However, to get the front cameras on, you can simply hit the camera button when going under 5mph to assist with parking.
Sure thing! So it requires the built-in wifi hotspot. Normally priced at $25/mo by itself, or can get discounted down to $15/mo when combined with their other services. Simply press the Blue OnStar button and let them know you'd like to get the service setup and they can help with any more questions too!
This video was super helpful! I'm picking up my new 22 Tahoe Z71 at the end of this month, so I was hoping to learn all the details and extras before I do. Can you help explain what would be the difference between, "IOK infotainment, enhanced connectivity 2.0" and the infotainment 3 that you are displaying here?
That's awesome, I'm glad to hear it helped out! Congratulations on the RST! I love all the black trim & styling of those. Let me know if you ever have any tech questions with it!
I think you now need data to use the on board Navigation. Not the android auto or cap play, but the actual built in Nav goes black if you don't pay for a data plan. Correct me if I am wrong. I have a 2022 Yukon and when Onstar trial ran out, it went black. (unless only unique to Canada)
Had it at a cooler temp before and I just did not turn the A/C off. Relevant side note - When you set the Climate Controls to AUTO: " The A/C button will light up. NOTE: This doesn’t necessarily mean the air conditioning is on - it just means it’s available for the system to automatically turn it on if it’s needed."
You have to secure the liftgate glass manually closing it from the outside. It will give you an error message over the speedometer if it is accidentally left open.
Above the rearview mirror there is a button next to the light that if illuminated will keep lights off when you open the doors. Simply press it to switch it back so they turn on when doors open.
Thank you for all the info. One question, on the main home page where it just shows music and like google search or the website, is there a way to change the google website to just show let’s say the map? Or are those hard programmed ?
Absolutely! And you should be able to just press and hold then drag the icons all around to place them wherever you'd like! The buttons themselves are hard programmed, but you can at least change their position on both the main home page and the hot buttons on the left side.
this video and the other one you made on setting was fantastic. I would love for you to distinguish the features that are present on the premiums or high country models that aren't available on the LT/LS models (even if it's just a caption on the video).

So I have a 2023 Tahow Premier..... I've taken it to two dealers regarding both front door speakers. They are BARELY heard.... both say the system is tuned correctly. Can you or someone confirm your front door speakers volume are very low when all others are LOUD? Thank you very much.
Terrific video!! My pet peeve with this system is the poor experience to change audio source. If I’m driving and want to switch from radio to Spotify or the like it’s a poor design, so many clicks and the audio source menu is tiny and easy to miss when driving. I wish there was a dedicated hard button. Have you found an easier way to switch sources?
I agree that having to go to the drop down menu first is kind of annoying. I will have to look at the next one we get in, but you might be able to switch sources easier with the steering wheel controls by scrolling over to audio section.
Great videos, Thanks so much.. One question when my apple car play is on and I try to use the phone buttons on steering wheel google assist comes on and says it cannot complete the request. with apple car play off I can use those buttons without a problem.
I am sorry for the long delayed response man. Haha no need to sign out of Google 😅 Simply press and hold the talk button opposed to a quick press and it should bring up your phones command system instead of the built-in Google one.
Great Video... delivered one last night and didn't know what the hell was going on with the new infotainment that we didn't know was coming. I hate the new system less now!
SO In my new 2023 Sliverado LTZ, OnStar is required (@39.99 per mo) to use the onboard Google Maps. Without OnStar, to use maps at all, requires the cell phone as a hot spot for google maps, or Waze navigation, but using waze disables the navigation indicator in the Driver Info Center.
This video help me a lot! I have the 2022 suburban at first the navigation system was working great but now it stop working it won't download the places I'm looking i have to connect my phone and use my gps and that's the only way the gps on the suburban will work Do you know why?. Or how can i make it work?
Glad it was helpful! For the "built-in" Google maps navigation to work, it requires a connected vehicle plan provided through OnStar. You can press the blue button by the rearview mirror to talk to an advisor about the plans. Alternativley, you can just use Apple CarPlay/Android Auto for 90% of the features for free!
Honestly that is a good question that I have not actually tested out with these yet. I am going to presume it will still show you when to turn as it has for years now with these Tahoes/Suburbans.
Appreciate it and glad to help! For the memory seats, simply Press "Set" it will beep once, quickly HOLD "1" or "2" or the Easy Exit Poisition and you will hear it beep twice confirming you saved the seats!

Thank you, I really appreciate that! Yes, as soon as we get another 2022 in, I will make another video for how the navigation works with the driver information center as well as the head-up display!
Hi! I just had my new 2022 gmc denali yukon. I am still on my free one month data plan and I’m have trouble accessing the google maps and other features that needs data. I did enter my google account, but it seems like my car hotspot doesn’t connect to google!
If off you mean that the brightness is low, there are 2 buttons for the brightness of all the screens on the left side dash right above the headlight auto headlight controls that will adjust. If not, let me know in a little more detail and hopefully I can help!
So one feature that is missing is in the Sirius XM portion. on my 2019 subaru ascent, when you start the car it will automatically record all of your preset XM channels. that way you can switch between them and scrub through all that glorious audio
Was noticing that you were doing the map hooked up to Google account without your phone being paired? I can't make my used 2022 suburban high country do that. Do I have to hook the phone up first? Is this something that's supposed to be run through the hotspot on the vehicle itself? Thanks so much
Yes I was. So when you open the Google maps (which requires a connected vehicle plan through OnStar) you can click the top right person icon to then log into your Google account seperate from your phone being paired. Alternatively, when you use Android Auto/Apple CarPlay your Google maps will automatically pull your locations. No hotspot required.
Thks excellent... i saw an area where you had 2 email services. Question, does the system allow you to use other email accounts to for example send or receive texts... I know you use Apple Car Play, I just wondered if you can tell the system which email account you use for integration.. like you Apple for personal stuff and say outlook for business stuff.. and switch back and forth depending on what your doing that day ? Thks Ted
@@CarsWithKyle thanks, I was wondering that too. The part I have never figured out how to keep the interior lights from coming on. Yes, you can push the button to prevent them from coming on for a short period of time. But later they start coming on again. In my previous SUV, Toyota Sequoia, when you turn the interior switch to off it was off forever.
GM vehicles for a long time have had the tachometer on the Left side of the dash. Does the new dash allow you to swap the the speedometer to the right and tach to the left? Doesn’t appear to with classic, clean settings etc? Thanks
I don't believe you can move the tach or speedometer, just the information displayed underneath them. I did not notice that switch till you mentioned it, good catch!
Yes, for that you will just need to connect with Apple CarPlay! If your phone is already connected with Bluetooth, click the Apple CarPlay button (even if it is grayed out) and it should prompt you to set it up. Google Maps, Apple Maps & Waze all work with it and are free & updated instantly with traffic as well!
What about with a Google Built in without Alexa available as voice assistant? Website says an update will go out late 2022 - do you check system under Settings and see if there’s an update there or does it need to goto a dealership?
Can I set waze as the default navigation app? I don't see an option under default apps and want to retain the Google assistant functionality to just say a destination after hitting the steering wheel button or the Google icon on the top left. Thanks in advance!
I have a 2022 suburban. On the home screen you are showing, you start on the 2nd page (4 dots at the bottom). If you go to the far left (1st page) there is a split screen home page that displays when you hit "home" on the controls by the power and volume knob. How on earth do you change it? Mine shows music and Google maps but I don't want to see Google maps when I am not using it.
Hi I have android and is not letting me use the voice command like Hey google. Play Music from youtube and it says... You do not have TH-cam installed on your phone, what does that mean? I have it and if i click on Play store is only thr option of open or Uninstall Thanks
I beleive is is because the actual TH-cam app is not Android Auto compatible, but the TH-cam Music app should be. I would try downloading that and go from there!
While on the Audio page listening to music, on the top right corner click the music note and settings wheel symbol @7:36 Then go to Fade/Balance and make sure it is set to the center of the vehicle.
Swipe the screen to the far left or hit the home button again when you are already on the main home screen with app selection and it will take you to a Split View screen with Audio, Phone and Maps!

Hi It was helpful for me and I have something to ask from you I bought a 2022 Suburban LT and it has no rear mirror camera .! But according to order manual it should be. Also I bought the luxury package for interior. What should I do now?
Happy to hear it helped you!! As far as the rear camera mirror goes, that feature is actually only available on the Premier & High Country trim levels. They all come with the same owners manual regardless of trim level. So reference only what is applicable for your specific vehicle.
Any apps that are compatible are going to be accessed and downloaded through the Google Play Store app on the main menu! It will however require a data plan to access after the initial trial.
As of right now, those 13.4" infotainment screens are first only coming out on the refreshed 2022 Silverado LT and up & Sierras SLE and up which start production in a few days! My guess is the SUVs will get this infotainment system for 2023 models.

It should be noted that to add additional profiles, select your name (or in this case where is says "Kyle") in the upper left of the screen to manage profiles. This is an option if you run into issues going through "Settings".
The initial start up animation shown is only shown after the system has been off for a while and put into a "sleep mode." You should see this when younfirst start up the truck in the mornings! Let me know if you still don't. Sorry for delayed response!

Oh wow! I learned a lot from your tutorial. Thanks Kyle, very well explained. It's a bummer the Tahoe RST doesn't come with that rear view mirror/camera : ( Anyway, I think I can live without it.
Many thanks from Ethiopia.
That is so cool to see this video reached you all the way in Ethiopia!!
I agree with the rear camera mirror, but it is still a wonderful vehicle even without it!
Could you please advise if there is a search function within Google Podcasts that allows users to locate specific podcasts or categories of interest?
Thank you 😊
Has anyone figured out how to fix the missing speed limit number in the HUD and instrument cluster on a 2022 tahoe Z71 ?
So if we get a AV adopter Lightning to HDMI, it's a plug and play for iPhone? We can play TH-cam on iPhone and it shows up on rear screens?
I mean, in theory! Did it work?
Sorry for late reply!
@@CarsWithKyleYes got TH-cam working. Anything on phone ... Shows up on the screen.
@@radiohead2206 That's awesome!! 😁
HOW DO I CHANGE MY TIME & DATE ON MY TAHOE ? We just got this dang thing out of the shop again like x3 bc my Onstar won’t work !!! I’m so tired of dealing with this truck and the issues we have had !! Thx so much !!!
Great Video, from my understanding the old built in "Navigation" is gone. To keep the Navigation you need a to pay for Onstar service.
Appreciate it! That is correct for the new "built-in" Navigation with Google.
An easy work around is to use Apple CarPlay/Android Auto & your maps will be on the screen as well!
I wonder if you're able to cover the buttons to the left of the steering column??.
I should do short video on all of those!
There is a lot, but is there a specific couple of questions you have and I can help answer?
is the built in google subscription based? Do you have to have a Wifi or on star to have the built in navigation work?
Yes it is and that is correct with having wifi for it and the other "built-in" Google features to work. Just hit the Blue OnStar button or set up the MyChevrolet mobile app to get connected!
Also, you can use your phone with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto for on-screen maps.
Do you know what the symbol on the phone icon means when there is 3 white lines over it that kind of look like cords? Wireless charging still works.
The 3 diagonal lines are just part of the phone icon itself. A green lightning bolt over them means thr wireless charging is working. If it's a yellow lightning bolt, it means the wireless charging is not working and need to adjust phone or remove case.
So what does the bell 🛎️ icon mean in the top right of the radio? Sometimes it has a red dot. 🔴
If you see the red dot, it means you have a vehicle notification. Simply click on it and you will see the notifications!
This video is so helpful.... Good job Kyle.
Waiting for our suburban premier to arrive. This video was very helpful to get familiar with the vehicle beforehand.
Glad it was helpful!
Let me know if you have questions after you pick it up.
Congrats on the new ride!
Does cameras auto come on when you are doing under a certain speed?
The cameras will automatically come on when in reverse. However, to get the front cameras on, you can simply hit the camera button when going under 5mph to assist with parking.
Do you have any information about the subscriptions service you need to make the Google services work?
Sure thing!
So it requires the built-in wifi hotspot. Normally priced at $25/mo by itself, or can get discounted down to $15/mo when combined with their other services.
Simply press the Blue OnStar button and let them know you'd like to get the service setup and they can help with any more questions too!
Or you can simply use android auto or Apple CarPlay and do everything this does for free?
This video was super helpful! I'm picking up my new 22 Tahoe Z71 at the end of this month, so I was hoping to learn all the details and extras before I do. Can you help explain what would be the difference between, "IOK infotainment, enhanced connectivity 2.0" and the infotainment 3 that you are displaying here?
Wow, sorry for the late response! Hopefully you got it figured out, but if not, "IOK" is just the build code for this system!
I'm getting a new 2022 Tahoe RST and your video was just what I was looking for. Thanks.
That's awesome, I'm glad to hear it helped out!
Congratulations on the RST! I love all the black trim & styling of those. Let me know if you ever have any tech questions with it!
Just got the 2022 rst delivered today and its awesome
@@joechambers09 That's what's up! What color did you go with?
@@CarsWithKyle I got midnight blue Metallic and let me tell you its beautiful...the 2022 has an all new dash and Google maps built in..I love it
@@joechambers09 Oh that's a great one! Yea they are super nice, congrats man!
You are correct. The onboard Navigation requires a connected vehicle plan through OnStar to continue after the trial.
Why is the AC on when you turn on the heat? 15:00
How do you close the liftgate glass, after opening .
You have to secure the liftgate glass manually closing it from the outside.
It will give you an error message over the speedometer if it is accidentally left open.
How do you get the interior lights to turn on when the doors open?
Above the rearview mirror there is a button next to the light that if illuminated will keep lights off when you open the doors. Simply press it to switch it back so they turn on when doors open.
Thank you for all the info. One question, on the main home page where it just shows music and like google search or the website, is there a way to change the google website to just show let’s say the map? Or are those hard programmed ?
Absolutely! And you should be able to just press and hold then drag the icons all around to place them wherever you'd like! The buttons themselves are hard programmed, but you can at least change their position on both the main home page and the hot buttons on the left side.
Nice informative video. How can I set up radio channels name on Chevy Z71 2022? I can only see the codes but not the channel names
this video and the other one you made on setting was fantastic. I would love for you to distinguish the features that are present on the premiums or high country models that aren't available on the LT/LS models (even if it's just a caption on the video).
Happy to help ☺️
That's actually a pretty solid idea, I appreciate that! I'll see if I can edit it in for these & definitely will do so going forward!
When you have a trailer and a boat…..the lake is never too far away!!
Could you help me find the weather radar on this thing I have a LT 2022 and I can’t figure it out thx for this video it helped me alot gosh it’s so much different than my 2018 Tahoe !!
With the updated infotainment system, they no longer have the weather displayed.
However, you might be able to download a weather app using the Google App Store if you continued with a connected vehicle plan!
@@CarsWithKyle I just say that I had ask you that weather question lol and yes I kinda figured that was the answer but I also am tryin to get the speed limit thing workin do you have a tip for me thx
@@onthefarmwithnolen5542 I just replied on the other comment with what I found for other people previously! If downloading the offline maps does not work, you might have to take it to your service department for help.
@@CarsWithKyle I’ve tried unless you have to pay for mor apps and I’m not gunna do that the truck is super nice but it’s alot to get use to bc I’ve drove a Yukon or Tahoe for a long time since like 2000

Congrats on the new ride! I know there is a bunch of new stuff. These ones are just loaded with all the new technology!
Super helpful video. Could you do a similar one for the rear screen entertainment system?
That's actually a great idea!
They didn't have the rear entertainment package for quite a while last year. When we get another in, I'll try to make a video on it!
Kyle,
Just bought a 2022 Silverado LT with the new dash, do you know how to just add your maps to the smaller part of the screen on the right.
Congrats! And yes sir I do! Simply just scroll down on the far right side and the maps will be on the top page. You will see 3 dots on the right indicating which page you're on.
Hope this helps!
What does the RDS stand for in audio? Should I have it on or off
So I have a 2023 Tahow Premier..... I've taken it to two dealers regarding both front door speakers.
They are BARELY heard.... both say the system is tuned correctly. Can you or someone confirm your front door speakers volume are very low when all others are LOUD? Thank you very much.
How do you get those intro animted graphics to turn on again???
It comes standard from all packages
The animated graphics may vary for trim level
Sign out of your Google account and do not sign back in. They are spying on you. For navigation, use Apple Maps or Waze.
I honestly thought it wasn't coming till the new 2022 Silverados! It's a nice surprise though!
Amazing!!! My hot button disappeared and this truly helped. :)
Super glad you got some use out of this!!
I have the 2022 suburban at first the navigation system was working great but now it stop working it won't download the places I'm looking i have to connect my phone and use my gps and that's the only way the gps on the suburban will work
Do you know why?.
When you use google maps what does HUD show?
Honestly that is a good question that I have not actually tested out with these yet. I am going to presume it will still show you when to turn as it has for years now with these Tahoes/Suburbans.
great vid Kyle, question how to change the seat entry memory setting thx
Appreciate it and glad to help!
For the memory seats, simply Press "Set" it will beep once, quickly HOLD "1" or "2" or the Easy Exit Poisition and you will hear it beep twice confirming you saved the seats!
Thank you Kyle! Fantastic video. How many hidden compartments are in my 2023 High Country?
The best video on YT about the new digital dash
Please can you show us the navigation on the central dash?
Can i add my directions to it ?
And how the navigation looks on the head-up display
Thanks
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
Yes, as soon as we get another 2022 in, I will make another video for how the navigation works with the driver information center as well as the head-up display!
Hi! I just had my new 2022 gmc denali yukon. I am still on my free one month data plan and I’m have trouble accessing the google maps and other features that needs data. I did enter my google account, but it seems like my car hotspot doesn’t connect to google!
Hey Nancy! Hopefully you were able to figure out whatever was going on with your Yukon!
Great video , my speedometer light is off how to Turn it on ?
Thks Ted
Hey Kyle- where would you turn on your inside lights? Is there a button beside the drivers side?
Press & hold either front map light for 2 seconds and all rows will turn on. Repeat to turn them all off again :)
If I don’t have a google subscription, is there a way to open google maps on my iPhone and it’s displayed on the truck screen?
Yes, for that you will just need to connect with Apple CarPlay!
If your phone is already connected with Bluetooth, click the Apple CarPlay button (even if it is grayed out) and it should prompt you to set it up. Google Maps, Apple Maps & Waze all work with it and are free & updated instantly with traffic as well!
Use Apple Maps or Waze instead. They work a lot better.
Sorry for the delayed response!
Ok so the far left "home page" just shows music & maps in a split view. There is no way to change it right now.
@Cars With Kyle thanks for checking!
So is there a charge for the navigation, do you have to have active Wi-Fi?
Hi
I have android and is not letting me use the voice command like Hey google. Play Music from youtube and it says... You do not have TH-cam installed on your phone, what does that mean? I have it and if i click on Play store is only thr option of open or Uninstall
Thanks
I beleive is is because the actual TH-cam app is not Android Auto compatible, but the TH-cam Music app should be. I would try downloading that and go from there!
It seems only the front speaks are working. Is there a way to get all the speakers in the car work at the same time ?
While on the Audio page listening to music, on the top right corner click the music note and settings wheel symbol @7:36
Then go to Fade/Balance and make sure it is set to the center of the vehicle.
Very informative. Question, how do you set up favorite artist/song notifications on SiriusXM?
I too tried looking into this and came up empty handed.
I believe they took this feature away on these newer models.
Do you know if you can split the screen and have 2 apps working at the same time, like audio & maps?
Swipe the screen to the far left or hit the home button again when you are already on the main home screen with app selection and it will take you to a Split View screen with Audio, Phone and Maps!
hi i have a 2023 rst but i need to know how could i browse the usb carpet folder it dont let me also how to record music in the storage from usb please let me know thank you
Hi
It was helpful for me and I have something to ask from you
I bought a 2022 Suburban LT and it has no rear mirror camera .!
So reference only what is applicable for your specific vehicle.
how do you add weather channel app or pandora app to the new chevy tahoes and 1500 truck.
Any apps that are compatible are going to be accessed and downloaded through the Google Play Store app on the main menu!
It will however require a data plan to access after the initial trial.
So the High Country doesn't have a 13" screen for the infotainment system like the 2022 Denali Ultimate?
As of right now, those 13.4" infotainment screens are first only coming out on the refreshed 2022 Silverado LT and up & Sierras SLE and up which start production in a few days!
My guess is the SUVs will get this infotainment system for 2023 models.
Fantastic video! Just picked mine up. I have the built in WiFi, and my iPhone doesn't automatically connect to the WiFi. It auto connects to the wireless Apple Carplay only, and I have to manually join the wifi every time (iphone is set for auto join). Any idea how to fix this issue?
It should be noted that to add additional profiles, select your name (or in this case where is says "Kyle") in the upper left of the screen to manage profiles. This is an option if you run into issues going through "Settings".
Noted, thank you!!
Hmm.. I have a 2023 Silverado 2500HD High Country and I don't get that startup video...how is that enabled?
The initial start up animation shown is only shown after the system has been off for a while and put into a "sleep mode." You should see this when younfirst start up the truck in the mornings! Let me know if you still don't. Sorry for delayed response!
Thank you so much for this! I appreciate that you took the time and effort, very detailed review. Liked and subscribed 👍👍
