Starting a painting is never an issue for me. I would love to see more videos on how you would take these onto the next step and eventiually finish them!
Great idea! If you want to learn more tips and techniques like this for abstract painting then take a look at Art with Adele Academy. I walk through pieces all the way from start to finish there! adelesypesteynstudio.com/art-with-adele-academy
Hi Adele, so nice to see this pop up this morning while l have my breakfast. As always you've inspired me, to use up some old watercolours paintings and make a landscape collage. Cant wait to get started. Many thanks Alioban 🤗
Super Gloss mod podge would work just as good. Used it on my front door. When wanted to change what was on front door. Had to use a paint scraper to get mod podge off. LOL 😆
? When I used paper collage along with acrylic paint on canvas I had a problem with the surface of the canvas denting in somewhat where the collage pieces were attached (matte medium). How would I avoid this when doing collage on canvas?
I didn't finish this one online- if you join my Academy you can get weekly videos that walk you through entire pieces. I post to TH-cam a little less frequently, for fun!
You're going to leave all that paper glued down to canvas?? I have the worst results glueing paper to canvas. The warp and bubble and refuse to lie flat.
If the paper warps or bubbles it’s because there is too much wet for the thickness of the paper. You can try to use less glue, a slightly thicker glue (can increase drying time) or use thicker papers. I personally use collage medium by Ranger with a silicone makeup applicator to paste it on the back of the piece I’m gluing down. I don’t throw it on the canvas because it’s too wet for my style. When the layer is dry I check the edges and glue them down before I seal that layer and move on to the next one.
in my experience that usually means you're using too much glue for the paper when it wrinkles up. When I wanted something to be smooth and flat with thinner paper I spread a very thin layer of glue with my finger or a brush and made sure to press/rub the paper so it was fully secured with no air bubbles. At the end of the day though, do what works best for you and makes you happy with your piece
Adele, thank you a thousand times.
One of the most enjoyable art videos I have seen in a while ❤️❤️🙏
Love the result so far, looking forward to seeing how you finish it
Thank you Adele - that’s really inspired me!

Love the simplicity of color and shapes. A great way to start when you don’t know where or what you want to take a leap into! Thx!
I recently started putting down collage randomly - it was fun and so freeing! Thank you!
You're so welcome!
I will love to see how you approach this background and do a finish painting.
Beautiful video!
Great idea!
Thank you for showing!
Collage is my favorite way to start a painting! Thank you for sharing your process. 😃

Great ideas. I love collage but never thought of applying to canvas! How silly of me!
I love this...when do we get to see the next part? I can't wait!
Soon….

Mod Podge will yellow over time. It can also crack. It depends on the substrate.
Great foundation...
Fun work
I take a picture before I dissemble to begin gluing so I can reassemble exactly. Also, you can paint a background with acrylics first.
Hi Adel, is there a follow up dividing to this one?
I hope you get some ideas from this video.
I have the same question as one below - once it’s all dried, can you paint over the gloss medium with acrylic paint? Thanks!
I just found your videos. Great so far!!! What do your finished abstracts look like after ‘embellishments? Thanks!
Amei 🤩
Amazing tutorial! I don’t know why when I use gloss medium paper doesn’t stick well!
This suits me because I'm a responder. Would love to see what you do next. :-) New Subbie.
I love this
❤
Is there a follow up video to this one? Would love to see where this went
Is there a reason you use gloss over satin medium? Just curious. Sometimes gloss is a little much for me.
Hi Stephanie! I just like it.
So beautiful. Can I use mod podge instead of gloss medium? Will that work?
Yes you can use it! I always recommend trying a few different products on your own work to see what you like best.
Can you use glue rather than medium?
? When I used paper collage along with acrylic paint on canvas I had a problem with the surface of the canvas denting in somewhat where the collage pieces were attached (matte medium). How would I avoid this when doing collage on canvas?
Can you now paint on top of gloss medium w acrylic paints? You didn't mention
What is the advantage to using gloss medium to mat medium? I like that scraper.
Hi Kat! I just like it that way. I think the gloss brings a nice sheen instead of matte. But you should try things out and see what you like best!
Did you continue with this piece? Is there a Part 2?
I want to see where you go with this❓ where can I find it?
I didn't finish this one online- if you join my Academy you can get weekly videos that walk you through entire pieces. I post to TH-cam a little less frequently, for fun!
Can I use a MDF board?
I recommend using whatever you like! Yes you can you an MDF board, try it out and see how you like it
Anybody else having difficulty getting the 10 ideas sheet.
Hi beautiful love ❤️
Adele, why is it when you put collage pieces down it looks great, when I put pieces down it looks terrible? Maybe I'm too critical of my own work.
Hello Dear.. Mind helping me define my work? My first and only upload..💜💜💜
