your videos are standout because you actually explain your thought process - it makes it so much more interesting to get a look into the mind of such a talented lego artist!
I absolutely love this. Adore the fact that you added in his backpack and the light stone. Makes him feel more like a true character, and not just a chosen one plot point. Amazing work.
I feel like a puppy watching their owner, like I don't understand most of these words and I have no clue what the Bionicle lore is and these builds look like real time magic, but I have all the interest and attention in the world :)
@@skulvak I wish it was that easy. LEGO have thrown away their OG Bionicle injection moulds. We would never get the old style parts anymore. And the new style parts are not really popular due to design changes.
@@Declopse yes but behind the scenes Lego is slowly modifying and modernizing old Bionicle parts they will soon see light, we just have to be patient and trust the process
@@Declopse We don't need the OG moulds. We just need some complexity. Or at the very least the MOC community has to start developing some alternatives. There IS a market still for bionicle. It still has potential. And the fans ARE willing to shell out cash for it. But it needs to be a solid final product. To my understanding the "edgy" phase of bionicle ('06-'08) was their peak both financially and culturally. I know Lego tries to keep things more family friendly but taking that time frame of Bionicle and applying the grittiness to the whole series, ramping it up even more and providing some high detail, high complexity models would make them a mint from the AFOL community I'm certain. The property has SO MUCH potential, and Lego is still holding on to it and referencing it because Lego knows that too, but it's held back because Lego doesn't want to step out of its comfort zone again.
Bionicle mocs will forever be my favorite genre of Lego mocs. Love ur video format and the way u thoroughly walk through your building process in an entertaining way. Great job with this build man.
I can already see you becoming one of the biggest content creators in the lego community. Your concepts are really creative and super unique. Honestly the most interesting lego/bionicle content out there! You should try something with Kopaka, Master of Ice!
I need more vids. I remember playing with Bionicles when I was a kid. This brings nostalgia and to see how much more detailed you make them is freaking epic. Awesome content man!
This deserves way more likes and views this is insane, I did guess since you used more brick peices it was all pushed in together(tension) so it was waiting to break as soon as it touched the floor
Daaamn the golden armor pieces look so incredibly cool! 😮👍 "Ooh, shiny" aside, it's genuinely impressive how many lego themes/brick types/elements you're able to bring together into something that looks like a high quality action figure/display model. So many different ways of thinking/build strategies/parts usages coming together to produce something genuinely impressive. Who knew you could combine Bionicle, technic, system and hero factory and have the final result look this good. 💥🧠💥
The extra effort you go through to narrate basically every step you go through is so phenomenal and its one of the big reasons I like to stick around 🤟🤟
I really love how you've definitely made him very much like a Toa of Light, especially given him few things that further solidify him as Takua, even though he isn't anymore in body! Its too bad though you couldn't just add in a heart light anywhere on his chest.
honestly i love your videos, the joy of nostalgia + the complexity of some of the joints you create just brings me a combination of pleasures i didnt think was possible. Thank you, please keep up the great work and I am really looking forward to your next video :)
Every bit of this was fantastic, and beyond how nice everything looks, it's appreciated SO much how careful you are to have a stable build as well. I've seen very beautiful MOCs that fall apart if you so much as breathe at it, and that have very poor articulation - but you manage to have neither of those problems, while also having an absolutely stunning and clean build.
It might not be in the Bionicle universe, but I was wondering what your interpretation of a mutated / deformed Bionicle monstrosity would be. I love the builds you make!
What a cool build. All the nods to MNOG and the original Takanuva set were so satisfying. This is the first of your videos I've seen, and explaining your thought process as you go along is so helpful for a new MOCist coming out of his dark age. It's exactly what I've been looking for! Keep up the awesome work.
Just thinking about how you would ever come up with these techniques really blows my mind. I'm glad I was introduced to you by one of Ben Cossy's videos.
really like your attention to detail and adding little things that show you went the extra mile thinking about the project. like the bag and the light crystal.
I really love this. The build is so incredible, and it is nice not only being able to see what kind of techniques were used to pull off the models you make, such as this, it goes through the process of it, and it makes these absolutely incredible builds feel less impossible and unattainable, while only adding to it's impressiveness.
You definitely need to try upgrading the Hero Factory figures since I think the mechanical aspect is right up your alley. I especially suggest the “breakout” figures since that’s what I remember the most.
I look forward to all of these videos. I anxiously wait for the next one. When I first found your channel I was upset there wasn’t more videos like this to binge! Keep up the great work thank you!
Absolutely spectacular as usual Mitch! I might have said this before, but I adore the style of your videos! They're so lovely and relaxing with your music choices, lighting and commentary, yet interesting and engaging at the same time. It feels like you're the Binging With Babish / Babish Culinary Universe of LEGO TH-cam haha! (He's a really nice cooking channel if you don't know him) As someone who values a MOC's playability very much, something else that I seriously admire about your builds is the focus you put into making them as sturdy & poseable as possible. I don't see many MOCists doing that and it's so cool to me! (But I don't know HOW you can bring yourself to drop them 😭) Keep up the fantastic work man, you're doing absolutely incredible!
As a long time Lego & Bionicle fan who watches very little content for either, this was wonderful. You've got a sort of Bob Ross level appeal going here, its very fun to watch the build come together and hear your little insights and comments on what you're doing as you go. Acknowledging the hiding of broken pieces or graphics gave it some charming relatability, lol. I actually subscribed, will be watching again
My main takeaway from your videos is that people first need to worry about the outer aesthetic before worrying about how to get there. Where most build the skeleton and then slap armor on it, you grab armor and fill it with a skeleton.
tbh i think it would have been better if the light stone was attached to the top of the staff instead of the bottom, this way it wouldnt drag on the floor and could hang infront of him like a lantern (not that a toa of light needs one) great build!
Where have these videos been all My life? These are seriously the coolest tributes to the original toys ever. Edit: OOOOOHHH I DO remember you!!! The moment I saw the drop test segment it ALL came flooding back! I've missed you! I've missed watching you like crazy. I'm glad go be back!
